You are correct: Dershowitz did indeed ask for all those things, and he got them. But it wasn’t because he was a slick lawyer, it is because one Alex Acosta (at the time U.S. Attorney for that area) agreed to Dershowitz’ terms. Acosta had no reason whatsoever to do this, yet he did. Why?
When asked during his confirmation hearing about this, he said, “I was told Epstein ‘belonged to intelligence’ and to leave it alone.”

I understand what you’re saying but that is the system we have…it is adversarial…and the defendant is entitled to competent defense. See Blackstone’s formulation: “it is better that 10 guilty people go free than one innocent person suffer.” There are a lot of innocent people in prison. The 6th amendment guarantees the right of the accused to counsel. It’s a defense lawyers job to provide the best defense they can regardless of whether they think the client is guilty or not. What if you were falsely accused but your defense attorney believed you were guilty and sought to limit your defense…would that be right? That would be a serious flaw IMO. Our adversarial system says the prosecution puts on their best case and the defense their best defense. If the defense lawyer has a conflict or moral objection they can withdraw but they can’t purposely weaken the defense.

While I agree that plenty of innocent people have been and will be smeared by this criminal activity, I am cynical enough that I don’t believe for a minute that whoever is directing this political theater – with very real elements of blackmail and danger – didn’t know exactly what they were doing. Remember Bondi giving out those folders to all the conservative media influencers early in her tenure? IMHO, that was not a sincere action, but pure political theater. 1. After Epstein “died,” we saw photos of FBI bulldozing the entire compound. I’ve never in my life witnessed such a blatant effort to hide evidence from the public. I realized then that they were shielding extremely powerful people.
2. The files that the FBI hid from Bondi (in a secret room that almost none of the FBI members knew existed) must have held damning evidence. Why else go to so much effort to bury them?
3. Bondi did evil things in the Zimmerman trial that indicate she is ambitious, immoral, and corrupt. For me, this truth makes me question everything that she says and does.
4. Alan Dershowitz was on the Epstein list. He says that he has seen all of the documents and knows the names. I find him believable.

We’re conflating two issues that require separation.
One is the pedo-thug Epstein and his circle of highly influential, morally-challenged, friends. Though disgusting and most likely criminal, this by itself is relatively small compared to the grand scheme of world activities.
The other is our government agencies, its integrity, and the ability of we the people to trust it. This is YUGE and at the very center of the MAGA movement. The only way to make America great is to purge it of its moral rot. The only way for America to be great is to be a nation under God (Ps 33:12, 2 Chron 7:14). This rot has been present for a while. It’s highly likely that our own government assassinated our elected president (JFK). It is possible that some elements of our government were involved (even if through intentional careless indifference) in the most recent assassination attempt on President Trump. If Epstein was involved with the CIA or Massad and/or the coverup by our agencies to protect those morally-challenged influential elites and this is not addressed and fully resolved, then everything Trump is doing to make America great will be just temporary in nature–a trimming of the weeds without removing the root.
It is this latter issue that must be addressed and resolved. It is more important than improving our economy. We can survive tough financial times. We cannot survive a continued moral decay.

The first thing to remember here is, from the start, the Maxwell trial was forced down a path of Maxwell trafficking “only to Epstein.” There was never any diversion allowed for others being involved.
