Just my opinion but the two most important blood tests you need are a fasting insulin and a C-peptide. I have recently begun to have vegetable juice at breakfast, which tastes good and is better for me.
Decades ago in college, during a particularly hot summer day, we began drinking very diluted iced OJ as a refreshment. Wonderful. Figured out that full strength juice was just too harsh and acidic.
Even still, that is only a rare summer treat. We don’t drink juices at all, but I’ve learned if I want a sweet fruit for dessert, I am happy with an orange or apple.
p.s. – was never a vegan or vegetarian, but studied all diets including aforementioned keto, but took various recipes from all. A “blended salad” is great from the raw vegan world… and it goes great with steak .
For this discussion, a “green smoothie” is nice – but sugar overload. I found that I could simulate a quick green smoothie with an apple and some baby greens or spinach right in my own mouth… just roll up a bit of spinach leaf, then bite a bit of apple, chew together and it basically tastes like apple and you still get the leafy green. If I didn’t bring lunch to work, I’d run to Publix, get an apple & tray of greens, sandwich.

It’s no wonder that most of our oranges must be imported.
Freeze damage(You know that Global warming time) to trees put farmers out of business as the risk of replanting north of the Indian River area was not a good investment with Brazil now flooding the US market. Tree.s use to go up to Winter Haven area.

I think farmers will be increasing their cow/calf production. Cattle prices have been dropping lately. This will turn it back the other way and making it a better business decision to increase herd sizes. This time 18 months ago farmers were selling off herds to get what they could for their production. Just remember it takes about 2.5 to 3 years to get calves to the size to sell them to the packers. Besides, Brazil is going to crap themselves when the thought of their cattle market crashing hits them, much more when it actually does.

In doing so, he alluded to the fentanyl crisis in the US and 400% dairy tariffs as his rationale. The amounts of fentanyl seized at the border with Canada are infinitesimal. In 2025, only 37 lbs were seized YTD versus 5,500 lbs at the Mexican border YTD.
Trump also cited “400% dairy tariffs,” another red herring. The 400% is the rate above dairy quotas, which in reality have not been reached. All US dairy exported to Canada in 2024 came in DUTY FREE, and Canada imported TWICE as much dairy from the United States as the Americans imported from Canada. How is that a bad deal for the United States? The US has a 100% trade SURPLUS in dairy trade with Canada. Wisconsin’s biggest export market is Canada.
Does Trump not know these basic facts about US/Canada trade, or does he think that by misrepresenting the US/Canada trade relationship that he can gain leverage over Canada? Who is he relying on for advice? Who is drafting these ridiculous and insulting letters? Peter Navarro? Jamieson Greer? Whose idea was it to treat America’s best trading partner and closest ally with complete contempt would be a good thing? Trump signed the letter, so we have to assume this is how he thinks business should be done.
Does Trump know that Canada buys more products stamped “Made in the USA” than any other country, more than China, Japan, the UK, and France combined? Does Trump know that the US has a massive trade surplus in manufactured goods and services when oil is excluded? Does he know that the Canadian oil is sold at a steep discount allowing the United States to export large quantities of American sweet crude at a sizable profit? Oil is the biggest US export and it would not be possible without cheap oil from Alberta.
The US/Canada trade relationship is the best trading relationship the US has with any country – it is the kind of trade relationship that the US should only hope to have with every country, and yet Trump seems intent on blowing it up over some strange animosity that he has for Canada and Canadians. What has Canada ever done to the United States other than being the best friend and ally the United States has ever had?
At 1/10th the size of the United States, Canada is in a vulnerable position as a result of integrating its economy with the US economy over the past decades. Is this why Trump is targeting Canada? Like a schoolyard bully picking on a weaker kid? Trumps punitive trade actions against Canada serve no purpose and in the long run will be bad for both countries. The pain will be felt more acutely in Canada but make no mistake. Millions of Americans’ jobs are tied to trade with Canada. There will be plenty of upheaval and hardship on the American side of the border. For what purpose?

FWIW, I’ve met some Brazilians here in Northern California.
One legal, cleans houses in The City on weekdays w his wife, runs a mobile Brazilian BBQ on weekends. Fantastic. Just became a citizen.
I believe the others, also nice, are illegal. Some do house cleaning, the men construction related. A few were nannies / au pairs who came legally, and have over stayed their visas.
Dr. Bill Wattenburg of KGO radio, inventor, businessman, had a partial solution: require a DEPOSIT when people come by Visa. Twenty years ago he was suggesting, say, $3,000. So today let’s call it $6,000.
If a legal person here on a Visa overstays, confiscate the deposit to help fund enforcement.
