Most of the pithy comments, Icarus, Daedalus, center of the universe, “pride goes before a fall”, are all correct. Nevertheless, I hurt for Elon. He was so incredibly politically naive, investing so much time and energy into DOGE, and the felt like he was kicked in the cajones by Trump and the “Republican” House supporting the BBB. Though the bill gave us “no tax on tips”, “no tax on overtime”, “no tax on SS income”; all campaign promises, and it cut some spending, but it still contains a pork barrel list of increased spending and debt!
Was Musk wrong? Not for his position. He joined voices with Rand Paul and the other guy who correctly pointed out the terrible debt that the BBB will heap on us and our children.

Yes, that is true. I knew Errol and I worked for Elon in the early days. Errol was very hard on Elon when he was a child. The relationship was never strong, and Errol was kicked out of the country by Elon for some racist comments he made to a SpaceX employee. The whole family is rather odd and broken. I am not surprised to see Elon turn out to be losing his mind. I just never imagined it happening this way.

The tax on Social Security wasn’t in the BBB. Some say it may come later on, but I’m not holding my breath. Imho, it was more important than no tax on overtime worked, but that’s just me.

There is an additional $6000 deduction for Social Security recipients beginning this year taxes. That should zero out the taxes

I watched the clip. Trump politely interjected. Although everyone has been characterizing it is more dramatic or emotional than it was.
It is also perfectly in line with past news conferences where reporters ask questions about subjects not relevant to the immediate scene. One example is foreign president in press conference and reporters ask questions that have nothing to do with that country or president.
He rightly noted that there were bigger, more immediate news items to discuss at that particular media session. I think for someone who signed the executive orders he did and has put the kind of focus on human trafficking that he has in law enforcement for past 9 years, it can only be taken as a troll to the media and willful incitement.
