In addition, eliminate mass mail in ballots, no more early voting, end ballot harvesting and “curing”, no “motor voter” registrations, proof of citizenship and require ID at the polls, ballots must be in by poll closing time no later and lastly results must be in within 24 hours of polls closing.

The power of the people was on full display in North Carolina this week. HB442 was brought up for vote with just a few days notice. This bill would have banned shrimping within 1/2 mile of our ocean coastal waters. The kicker here is most of the shrimp trawling is done by local families in the estuarial waters, i.e., Core Sound, Pamlico Sound and this ban would have destroyed the livelihoods of hundred of families in down east NC. They got wind of this treachery and showed up, with their shrimp trucks filled with local NC shrimp in such numbers that it was historical. The bill was killed in the House after the Senate passed it 41 to 4. The people are paying attention and their power was on full display here this week. These corrupt politicians have been put on notice.
What extremely uplifting news, Lindy! And a righteous, moral victory for those whose livelihoods were on the chopping block.
And what a terrible indictment against the SC senate (small “s”). They cannot claim ignorance of that industry, nor the people who rely upon it.

Having had drinks with a recent chief of station (about 18 months ago), I can tell you the ‘Russia must be defeated’ is very much the hive mind. There is no appreciation for the Russian people, themselves, dismantling the Soviet system and the go go wild west years under Yeltson. And now the Russia first policy under Putin. If she was anything like that, which she probably was, she would have been nothing but leaking opposition to any real ‘reset’ in our relationship with Russia. Team Trump, being the historic team I hope they are, are going to end the cold war once and for all, and let Russia be a normal country and part of the west where they belong. The leadership of the EU is bonkers (or very captured by the ‘interests’), and the people of the EU don’t support this ‘Russia is going to invade’ domino theory nonsense.
