As many of you are aware, in April last year we lost our primary Ad revenue because we refused to enforce Google moderation rules in our comment system.
The ridiculous demand for content control within our proprietary commenting system was actually the culmination of years of effort by Google and tech allies who were looking for ways to demonetize our platform and control information from this site.
As a direct and specific result without your direct support now, CTH cannot exist.
Retaining our ability to research, share and most importantly, discuss ongoing events, has been my #1 priority. Thank you again for your insight, wisdom, humor, friendship and support.
There are currently two methods to support CTH 2.0, our ongoing mission and discussion. However, depending on your browser settings (and ad blocker software) the second option may not be visible. There is a screengrab below showing what I am talking about.
The alternative financial support appears directly below the PayPal link in a yellow box as highlighted. Some have said browser settings can block visibility, and I have also heard it doesn’t show up on some mobile devices. I am not sure what the technical issue might be other than ISP filters (now becoming more problematic) and/or adblocking software.
Due to my personal requirements for Treehouse user privacy, and my firm stance on not retaining user data lists, the alternative system does not provide a subscriber option. If you use the alternative support function, each time you would want to support CTH, you have to click it and reenter your information. No data is saved.
Financial support through PayPal remains the most efficient and stable way to support CTH. I know they have received a lot of criticism, much of it well placed; however, my own experience with PayPal has been solid. When CTH was deplatformed and under attack from Big Tech (Eye of Sauron) to their credit PayPal stood firm and supported CTH in continuing their service.
While my experience with PayPal seems to run counter to the outcome described by others, the unexpected supportive position from PayPal made a strong impression on me. Again, perhaps unique, not sure why, but my experience with them has been very good. If that ever changed, I would immediately let you know. The data security and convenience of their system is also solid and useful.
Regardless, there are two options: (1) PayPal and (2) Proprietary. Due to legal caution and the data privacy construct, the Proprietary alternative has a 30-day access lag built in. Meaning, if you use that option, in approximately 30 days the funds become accessible, whereas support through the preferred PayPal option is immediate.
Thanks to everyone who helps offset all site hosting costs, our voice and information remains in the fight. We are committed to staying strong, fiercely protective of user data privacy, and anti-fragile so that we can withstand big tech (Google) targeting.

Sundance I don’t have much to give but I surely would if it wasn’t for two factors. First, I don’t have a cell phone which paypal requires. Second, when I use the other I get a lot of junk mail usually from republicans wanting money. I don’t like that kind of emails. These are not excuses but my experience.
I’ve never owned a cell phone but I have a Paypal account. I only have a VOIP number that used to be my landline number. So, it is possible to use PP without a cell phone.

I have been using magicApp to continue using the old number for supermarket checkouts. That number is not private and is now plagued with political requests.

There has been no way to send check or cash in the past. PayPal has worked just fine for the past two years with notifications of upcoming payments and a follow-up thank you from Sundance by email.
Dumb question: is there not an alternative to Google Ads? if not why not? What about Rumble cloud?
Tucker Carlson shares his videos on Youtube. He has to cut some content to meet the “community standards”. He mention in these videos that the viewer can see all of the video on his Youtube channel. Maybe Sundance could use a monetization model similar to this. Post content on monetized platforms with links back to the treehouse for the real Treeper content and comments. Maybe do a Youtube channel where a narrator reads post into a video? Just don’t do the weird music like Forbes.

I went to make reservations to return to Brasil after two years – surprise! – I now have to provide my bank records and prove a certain level of income — just to visit the country on holiday.
This is the BRICS Brasilian immigration system, specifically for US Passport holders.
Also, there’s now an $80 fee to acquire my ‘digital entry VISA‘.
In the USA, when they do the same thing, they’ll tell us it’s to stop the illegals, then classify us as illegal.

In the past six months I received two phishing/ransom attempts, using unique information that was contained in my Paypal account that was closed over a decade ago. Very specific, by full name, and targeted. I remember the challenge involved to close it well. I’d used it almost entirely for Ebay transactions back when I trusted that venue. No phishing attempts using Ebay information from the closed accounts there, so far. It differed from Paypal in small, but unique, ways.
Thanks for the resource and reminder about hidden data. Brave blocks it all in native form. I’ll look into it.
I would be glad to send a $100 money order to a p.o. box address. I used option 2 above (last year) and was promptly spammed with emails from paypal or someone trying to look like paypal. Have had nothing but bad experience from paypal so won’t use them.
I have sent money orders (and cash) to the owner of another conservative website who chooses to remain anonymous; They send another anonymous party to check the p.o. box, it has worked out well for over a decade. There are ways to safely do that without ever having to step foot in a post office.
Done. Easy as can be. I’d hate to be without the information provided by TCH. I hold tightly to my little branch and know that the information and conversation is the best unvarnished out there. We must never let our tree of wisdom be uprooted.

Sundance, to avoid demonitization the American Thinker blog recently made comments a separate page, so that when you click on the “Comments” link at the bottom of an article it seemlessly goes to a comments page.
On March 20, 2025 when they switched to the separate comments page Andrea Widburg wrote an article “A few comments about comments”:
“many people may have noticed a big change, which is that the comments no longer appear on the same screen as the article or post as to which people wish to comment. Here’s why:
Most ad revenue, no matter the ostensible advertiser, ultimately runs through Google Ads. Google Ads, in turn, searches through all the pages on which ads appear for terms and ideas that offend Google’s sensibilities. If Google finds something it doesn’t like, it cuts off the revenue for that page.
Because we allow for fairly free-wheeling discussions on our comment pages (subject to the above limitations), Google will often tolerate our articles and posts but will take offense at a user’s comment. If that happens—boom! Our much-needed revenue vanishes.
