I don’t support US involvement, but these are two extremely different environments and situations. The support for Hussein was widespread amongst an Muslim population and they can’t function without a strong man type dictatorship. Iranians are Persians under the thumb of a foreign Muslim Arabic government and previously lived a normal life under the Shah (whose son is set to come back and set up an interim govt).
An extremely basic description is that Iraq and Afghanistan are Muslim mongrels who don’t know how to act civilized while Persian people do. Iran was a normal place before the revolution. Iraq and Afghanistan were never normal.
There is a difference between regime chafe and nation building. Regime change has a focus of neutralizing an enemy or threat. Regime change is more humanitarian than turning the enemy to cinders. The notion of maintaining stability isn’t a goal if that stability facilitates a threat. Sometimes chaos is best in the lands of the enemy.

Let me say right up front… I do not think that President Trump would intentionally allow a war to start. In fact, he has gone to great lengths to broker peace agreements. Proof of that is that he continued to talk to Ukraine/Russia, even after Zelensky threw the tantrum in the White House. I do feel that Netanyahu did start things quicker than President Trump would have liked. President Trump said 60 days, Netanyahu started sending missiles on day 61. There is absolutely no question that Iran should never have a nuclear weapon… EVER!! I just feel that President Trump would have liked to have had another chance to broker a deal. After almost 50 years of trying to reason with Iran, more than likely everything would have ended up exactly where it’s at. A resulting benefit of the current actions also appears to have the support of a significant amount of the Iranian citizens who want to rid the government of radical Islamic mullahs. So positive regime change may occur simply by removing their nuclear weapon capability as well as Israel’s intelligence guiding the elimination of their top radical military leaders in the process.
That is 100% consistent with President Trump’s long-held policy that “Iran cannot have nukes.”

If I was asked if a woman could play on my team? I would say YES! If they could keep up with the top players who earned their way onto the team, then yes! But not if it means lowering standards to make that happen.

The real problem is men in women’s sports and it IS women getting their arses handed to them ending in severe and even permanent injury because of physical characteristics common to women. “All woman?” It’s never “all women” and in men’s sports, it’s never “all men” either. There’s lots of men who have various forms of weakness who would never be qualified on a men’s team. I guess that’s why they try out for women’s teams.
I can’t think of one sport where women would compete at the same level as men. Think of a woman racing with the men in the Tour de France? Downhill skiing at 90 mph. Women can do incredible things on skis and bikes, but not at the same level as men. Heck most men can’t compete for 20 days riding around France in July.

Israel dominates the skies and has destroyed Iran’s military and scientific leadership.
They have also done great damage to Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
However the one site left standing – the deep underground Fordow site – must be dealt with to achieve the common objective of making sure Iran’s nuclear enrichment program ends.
The capabilities possessed by the United States for such a deep underground attack are unique to us and us alone.
Overwhelmingly Americans view the Iran nuclear threat as existential to both the U.S. and Israel.

What I don’t understand is why are we in a hurry to decide on military action? The nukes are no longer being processed since the Israeli attacks, so let’s just sit back tell the Israelis to keep eliminating the threat and see what happens. I think people are trying to force Trump’s hand on this matter and I hope he withholds responding for awhile.

The question is what comes after? You cannot leave Iran in a vacuum. Unless that’s the goal. Are we pouring billions of dollars rebuilding?
After? Perhaps we can define the contours of that?

How about much of Europe?
Maybe something smaller, like Vietnam?
Or pick an African nation, or perhaps Central or South America?
There are lots of examples, just in our own history, plus we can add in the British, the French, the Soviets, and move back into history.
Did we, meaning the Republic, rebuild the South after the Civil War? Why? How did that go?
Part of me never understands sacrificing resources and lives to kill a country and its citizens, then rebuild it to become yet again another aggressor. In my opinion make war a very rare, and significant, act, not a business venture.
Sure seems the enemy has no problem seeking to destroy PDJT and MAGA so our kind will ‘never rise again’. Perhaps that’s instructive.
I expect that PDJT will continue to be the POTUS of peace. The rest of the cabal in politics and industry, I don’t know. Humans tend to do what’s in their own self interest, often bereft of morality or spirituality. That’s the direction I fear we’re headed. what type of war would this be? I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t extremely nervous, I’m usually pretty good about staying out of the fear mongering new articles but this feels heavier than the rest and I can’t get a good read on the situation from any article, being that I’m quite young and have no real world experience of any wars or such. During the campaign, Trump supporters would either mildly boo, of go silent and refuse to clap whenever Trump brought up the vaccines and Operation Warp Speed.
He couldn’t understand why. I would often write about how tone deaf he was on the clot shot. He saw it as a beautiful thing. His supporters still see it falling somewhere between coerced illegal medical experimentation and premeditated murder by the FDA/CDC/Pharma. In no way did Trump supporters think the shots were a good thing.
If you go back and look at when the door opened for RFK, it was when Trump voters finally heard someone speaking the truth about vaccines. Trump eventually stopped talking about the vax because it was a huge liability for him.
