Vance Luther Boelter, 57, continues to evade authorities as the manhunt for him widens. The manhunt followed Boelter, disguised as a police officer, fatally shot former Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and wounded State Senator John Hoffman and his wife in their homes.
During their investigation, police allegedly discovered a hit list in Boelter’s imposter-police SUV. That list contained roughly 70 names.
Minnesota – A vehicle associated with a suspect in a shocking political assassination and shooting outside Minneapolis was found empty Sunday afternoon in a rural area about 50 miles away, according to authorities.
The suspect, identified by authorities as Vance Luther Boelter, 57, posed as a law enforcement officer to gain access to the Minneapolis-area victims’ homes in the pre-dawn hours on Saturday, officials said. Authorities said he and police officers exchanged gunfire before he fled on foot.
Authorities on Sunday declined to specify the type of vehicle found in rural Sibley County and warned area residents to lock their doors and vehicles as police searched the area.
“Suspect not located. Keep your doors locked and vehicles secured,” warns the alert, as read to USA TODAY by a Sibley County emergency dispatcher.
Authorities said the suspect’s wife was stopped on Saturday morning about 120 miles away from where his vehicle was found. (read more)

His home is northern suburbs, more remote area. Also, ‘they’ are trying to paint him as having mental issues due to financial stress.

Others may find this to be a stretch but what I think with no more information than they have given is that it is no coincidence both politicians who were shot recently voted with Republicans. The spouses were witnesses and were shot because of that. Authorities on Sunday found Lance Boelter’s vehicle abandoned in Sibley County, Minnesota near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 25 and 301st Avenue in Faxon Township..
Brian Enton from Newsnation reported that neighbors heard gunshots in the area early Sunday morning.
Boelter’s cowboy hat was also found in the area.
Police need to search the area all around where the neighbor heard the gunshot. He probably committed suicide out in the woods.
How convienant. When this was unfolding yesterday morningish. I had a second to scroll and made a comment about sex being a motive since spouses were shot too. It was not meant to offend or be an inappropriate joke.
Far to often these days, crimes of passion seem to be a likely choice. The wife appearing to be on the run with family, adds a different perspective.
Another aspect to this case, and with all due respect to the dead victims, this guy wasn’t a very effective hit man since there are survivors.
One other point.
If I recall correctly, the first lamestream news I saw on this was already proclaiming “political motivation suspected!”
As we all know – The Powers That (Should Not) Be never say that unless they are trying to smear MAGA.
The lengths to which they will go to avoid mentioning any motivation were showcased just recently in the horrific Molotov cocktail attack – it was sick.

He claimed 30 years experience in the food industry (Del Monte Foods and Golden Plump Poultry) as well as extensive experience in the funeral home industry as a “removal” specialist.
He talked about his work in the Congo (Red Lion Group).
He mentioned he had a wife and 5 kids.
Here’s what I find really weird. Vance Boelter was highly educated and had worked for some big companies, presumably in positions which his education complimented.
North Minneapolis is the Ghetto and very few white people live there. This is where I grew up. I question why a highly educated white male would be living in the ghetto of Minneapolis.

He only rented the Mpls room for 2 days a week from a guy he’d known since 4th grade. He has nice home located in Green Isle, MN. It was understood he was having some financial issues that was stressing him.
This background info sounds rather flim flam to me. The supposed Ph.D. in ‘Leadership for Advancement of Learning..’ sounds like mail order. I could be wrong, but the companies where he purportedly worked…he could have simply been a min wage security guard.
I dealt with owners of security guard cos. when I was on HOA boards of dirs over time, as I moved along….they weren’t at all impressive; it seemed like a shifty means to make a few bucks, and a ‘here today, gone tomorrow’ type operation.
Also, the guy wasn’t all that old to have had so many purported positions – and what’s with the country hopping???? It all seems sketchy to me.
It sounds as if he didn’t have much of a career. Jumping from company to company. Sounds like one of those great resumes great interviewee types who are incompetent once they start work. All over Africa but based in Minnesota??? Why not southern Europe? Or even Morocco Tunisia North Africa ?

I’m seeing plenty of muddling of what has been reported. Not that the reports are any too clear either. I have no dog in this fight but live in commiemommysota so this is local for us.
Start with the wife: The claim is she was stopped in Onamia. Some reports say a traffic stop, others indicate she was at a convenience store in Onamia. That is almost certainly the convenience store just as Hwy 169 nears the south edge of Mille Lac lake (a sizable lake). She is reported to have a large amount of cash but I didn’t see the amount stated. It may be stated in reports I didn’t see. Large is a relative term and seems to be mostly relative to the importance the local official wants to put on the big arrest or whatever. She is reported to have had a firearm. She’s also stated to be the owner of the security business that Vance was working for/running, so her owning a firearm and probably having a carry permit is no stretch at all. There were reportedly 3 other family members with her, and “multiple passports”. To me that says 4 people with 4 passports. Until there is something further that’s all it says. Since she was reportedly not under arrest the implication is that there is nothing untoward with the passports.
I can see two likely versions of this. The guilty version is they were going to meet up with him while he’s on the run. Since that’s North of the cities and he has been apparently tracked to West of the cities that seems less likely; the fact she is not under arrest also seems to put that theory to rest. The other likely scenario is she was being hounded by reporters, neighbors, half-ass friends, internet nut jobs and half the kooks on the planet and wanted to find someplace to lay low. I’m suspecting she knows of a cabin, resort, fishing village or someplace off the beaten trail out in the woods, maybe in Canada, where they could get clear of the commotion until things settle down.
A corollary to this theory is that she may be intentionally putting distance between him / her and family. Whether out of fear of him or fear of being collateral damage.
Vance: He’s a mystery. The stories are flying about him. But as for his credentials as a conservative? In my several years observing how things operate here I have yet to EVER see a DFL politician in any position no matter how low or high appoint anyone at all who is not a DFL insider. Not in this state. NEVER.
