I was in a Target store yesterday evening. It was dead. Only a couple of cashiers on duty, many customers using self-checkout with hardly any wait.

I watched the entire testimony of the 3 Sanctuary governors. I was disappointed that many of the Republicans used the ‘yes/no question’ ruse, just like the Dems do.
Walz & Hochul clearly lied in responding that they cooperate with federal law enforcement all the time. And both repeated this claim many times. I hope they can be charged with lying to Congress.
All 3 of the govs had no idea who many of the illegal-alien murderers were from their own state. For example, Laken Riley’s murderer was released from NY prison, and Hochul was ignorant when asked about him by name. Pritzker acted the same about a guy who ended the lives of 2 young women thru DUI hit & run.
I’ve heard Pritzker is currently the Dem’s ’28 Pres candidate, and Newsom is unknowingly there to take all the arrows. It makes me think they only consider candidates with big personal wealth, like there is an admission fee to becoming the chosen Dem candidate.

Well I’ve been doing what I can given my physical limitations. Being housebound about 3/4 of the time since early 2021 on account intermittently regulated acute chronic pain leaves me plenty of time for absorption of painful Reality, contemplation of such and frequent outbursts of sheer frustration.
Sorry to hear about your acute chronic pain Jinxy and pray the root cause is successfully addressed. Would suggest that even sitting outside, rather than inside, can help provide natures calming effect – particularly if combined with prayer and communing with our Lord and Savior.
Sit outside at dawn or sunset to receive the red light through your eyes. I’d been doing this right after sunset and it is really relaxing. Just a few minutes to “be still and know that I am God.”
Look up and read about DMSO, using for Scleroderma pain and it beats any pills the doc can give me.

what is up with Trump caving on deportations, just because it’s harming the farming and hospitality industries?
Because transitioning from that labor to American labor isn’t a light switch and he doesn’t want to crash the economy just to appease you.
Think of it akin to the process of downsizing by not replacing retirees. As Americans are able to replace those workers, they’ll be retired and deported.
Until then it’s better we maintain our national food production capacity in a time of global instability.
President Trump isn’t interested in the “perfect” solutions some idealogues push who act as if a hundred years of creeping communism can be reversed overnight. He is finding solutions that best help the American people while minimizing the shock (In the potentially lethal medical sense) that some of these changes would inflict if implemented all together all at once.
And playing into these “absolutes” just damages support for good solutions rather than absolute solutions. This isn’t going to happen overnight and he’s been in office for weeks as opposed to UniParty policies that have been in place for decades.

Sometimes, to save sectors of our economy, we will have to take correction in baby steps while in other sectors we can take a chain saw to them.

The economy is always changing. Even if it is/was on the wrong course, sudden manipulation by government may not be all that helpful.
Once upon a time, some of the most physical farm labor was not necessarily a low paying job. As a 16-17 year old in the seventies, there was this farm job called “hay hauling”. It meant moving hay from the field to the hay shed on a per-bale rate of pay. My older pals making minimum wage in town were knocking down what? About two bucks an hour?
But if you didn’t mind going to bed dead dog weary, you could make around $100 a day for maybe three days in a row if you were on a good crew. That was real money then. (It financed my biggest expenses, girls and street racing)
I tell this because we still need to give OUR young and low-skilled a shot at proving themselves. Government financed slavery (illegal immigration/flooding the market with foreigners) takes away that opportunity.
As I eventually developed my own skills, the relationships I made with those farmers/ranchers paid off down the road because they remembered me. That hay hauling was not only good cash, it was a foot in the door later.
If you actually think that any of the illegal aliens that are ignored will be gathered up and deported at some distant point in time, you are fooling only yourself. There is a very finite window for action and after that it will be over. The simple act of justifying there continued presence almost guarantees nothing will ever be done.
My view is quite different than yours regarding effects and reasons. For starters, in regards to farms there are existing laws in place which allow for LEGAL transient workers during the portions of the year they are needed.
In the hospitality industry the change over could occur almost overnight – they would just have to pay prevailing wages rather than slave wages.
At the core of my opinion though is the unerring view that illegal is illegal and the President is required by the Constitution to uphold the law, not make exceptions to it. There is also the understanding that there comes a time that the cancer is so bad that it must be cut out and eliminated, regardless of the pain and recovery time the operation causes.
A last point in the view is that NO industry will “crash” due to a loss of their illegal alien workers, as no industry has a large enough percentage of illegal alien workers to cause said crash, particularly when one takes into account that even if doing its level best, the number of illegal aliens captured and expelled in any given month is a fraction of the fraction that work in any given industry.

Those numbers would raise the question – well, if it would somehow cause the industries in question to crash, then why wouldn’t the industry with the largest percentage (which is STILL small) not also crash?
BTW – ugh is hardly the only one that feels the same and in fact it was one of the biggest issues and reasons that PDJT won the election – he was given a massive MANDATE to eliminate the entire illegal alien population in this nation.

For decades past we had guest/seasonal worker visas, etc. there are avenues for legal temp status, probably in existing immigration law to get to sanity. President Trump is navigating uncharted waters and there is no guide book. No recipe for success is written on a rock somewhere. Saving a country is a trial and error process. There will be lots of adjustments and revisions along the way. Ross Perot knew this as would any savvy businessman such as PDJT. The goal is an end product that works for everyone and the means to get there must be fluid.

I am very up set about President Trump saying this. I know he needs to prioritize I get it. But I have heard on Fox that its like 23% of these workers are illegal. I get it that’s a lot to replace but I am sick and tired of these companies getting the benefit of slave labor. Raise your damn wages and then citizens will fill the jobs.
Perhaps an alternative is to ID every one of them (including photo, prints, DNA sample) and issue a Federal temporary work visa/permit/whatever and require the employer to withhold taxes.
If the employer fails to submit taxes, throw his or her ass in jail along with stiff fines.
If the worker jumps ship and goes to an under-the-table employer – find and deport the worker – with no chance of returning. The under-the-table employer employer should be fined or jailed or both.
Putting the onus of responsibility on the employer should negate the bleeding heart liberals’ whining……..

I believe he is being out front about this on the worker end, but dealing with those industry employers behind closed doors — squeezing them to start enforcing the ‘temporary’ nature of their labor needs such that the employers need to start paying for the legal processing of these workers through H2B visas, and being more proactive with getting these temporary workers back to their home countries (which many want to be) during the down time.
If laborers were not beholden to cartels to get them into the country, which then disincentivizes them from leaving and having to go back through such an ordeal over and over as temporary workers, the legal method already in place could be a win/win.
Also, the bringing of the whole family to live with a temporary worker here in these United States (which is the main source of the economic benefits that we taxpayers pay for) could be tamped down, as a family man who works here temporarily and goes back home during the off season, can better afford to maintain a family’s needs, including not subjecting them to the supposed terrors of ICE . . .
Why doesn’t our President ever talk about our H-2a and H-2b visas programs? If he needs to temporarily increase the number allowed, so be it. It’s a legal system already in place.

Probably because only 10% of farm labor these days requires hands so that the number of people needed for farm labor is miniscule. However, the proponents of illegal immigration love to use the examples of poor, brown-skinned, stooped over, arthritic people who “pick our crops” for their propaganda. This robs them of it.
Ever work in housekeeping? I have. It is a good job to have, but most of us don’t want to live 18 to a room, when they pay slave wages. Most of us need to recognize there are people who are going to be used as slaves in the U.S., and if you are willing to do the job which will not support you or your family in your single family dwelling, have at it. Most employers recognize this fact and will not even look at your application for such. They expect more out of you as an American.

There is a practical reality to this. Just about everyone in America has stayed in a hotel that employs non-citizen workers to make the meals and clean the rooms. So we’re all equally guilty for allowing it. If they all got sent home tomorrow, multiple industries would collapse.
It’s not like there are 200,000 Americans waiting for jobs in the hotel industry. Not at the wages they pay, at any rate.
Better to do the raids and fine the businesses a large sum. We need to turn off the demand for illegal workers and increase the costs. If there’s no incentive to stay here, they’ll go home. We see outflows all the time during economic downturns.
The other problem is wages. “Jobs Americans won’t do” should always be followed by “for what they’re paying”. If we send the cheap labor home, wages have to come up. I’ll pay more for a hotel room if it means Americans get the jobs.
I certainly agree the business owners need to be the ones to go after. Enforce the laws about not hiring illegals and make sure there are strict penalties handed out for violations. Cut off the top of the chain. The illegals might just start to deport themselves if there aren’t any jobs anymore.
Also, maybe somehow raise wages for these jobs starting now so more Americans might want to do them and an exchange in those places of American citizens for the illegals begins. Build a strong guest worker program with again, very strict rules on how it is implemented. Payment in full perhaps, only when the job is completed and the workers are on their way across the border. Give them partial payments to cover living expenses while here working. The rest comes upon completion and return to their home countries.
There seems to be solutions but the govt. is not trying them. Why? Just leaving illegals here to work in some industries does not seem to be the best path to sending them out of our country.
I get it that mass deportation of those working right now in the many jobs in those industries would be a big immediate problem but it should not just be a blank ok you can stay with no other changes.
My experience with farm labor is Americans do not want to do the necessary work at any price. Plus, American workers are not fit to do the necessary work. It is a simple “don’t know how to do it”, “don’t want to do it” and “will not do it”…..
I “been there done that” and it is futile thinking by the naïve American public thinking it can be done.
I am sure people would do farm work if it paid enough.

I work a job with some others; we are all paid the same wage. There is a portion of the work that is physically taxing. Guess who is the only one who will do it? One person and myself. There are people my age and much younger, and they will do anything to get out of doing it. Why? Because it’s hard work, and they are afraid of calluses. It’s part of the job; it’s going to get you the same pay (which is well above minimum wage), but that part is physically taxing, so they will do anything to have someone else do it.
For now luckily there are two American citizens willing to do the work, but what about later on?

BUT, we at some point have to admit that far to many of our own people have gotten really freaking soft, lazy, and entitled.

I think that with regard to farm workers, its not low wage illegals or high wage U.S. Citisens.
Its low cost illegals vs Robots, with high initial cost, but greater productivity, etc.
If illegals become unavailable, farmers will be forced to shell out the large initial investment to lease/buy automated harvesting equipmemnt.

Unfortunately, this is yet another area where economics favors the conglomrates; they have the $ to initially make the switch, and once they do, smallder operstions enploying illegals (ironically!) won’t be able to compete, price-wise .
I’m sure there is at least one PAC out there funded by company CEOs and executives all around the U.S. that pay the politicians and law enforcement to NOT go after the people that hire the illegals. They’re here illegally and need to go. The CEOs don’t want to give up their huge mega million salaries and stock options so they hire illegals to keep labor costs low. I’m sure there are other reasons but labor is a big cost in any industry. The lower they keep the cost of labor the more money they get.
There is no reason for company executives to make 20, 50, or 100 times more than a regular employee. No reason at all. Most employees I’ve known can run circles around most executives I’ve known. The owner of a company should make as much money as possible, they own the company. But executives, no way.
We’d have to get millions of our citizens off welfare programs in order to incentivize them to get a job. We are shooting ourselves in the foot by subsidizing able-bodied people on the welfare programs…
Recently heard on a podcast on Civil War parallels then and now that the labor that the slaves mainly preformed in the 1800s was: farming, cooking, and cleaning (kinda like today’s hotel industry?). And that the Democrats back then “needed” this cheap labor for the economy. People tolerate it because some of these workers actually have their legal work permits. We can’t differentiate by just looking at them. In an ideal world we should be able to trust that the business is NOT breaking the law.
A measured approach would be to fill out all those stupid surveys we get and ask if all their workers are legal. State that if not, you will tell all your friends and won’t be a future customer. At a minimum it might cause them to stop with the customer satisfaction surveys.
Mostly agree and your latter idea is a good one that might actually help – and could help even more if its sent to the corporate level management via their website (if it’s a large chain, which most are).
So would during check out asking them if they are aware of any hotels in the area that only employ American workers so that the next time one stops in the area they can stay there instead…

President Trump’s comments relate to nothing more than the long standing “Temporary (nonimmigrant) workers visa.
In order for you to come to the United States lawfully as a nonimmigrant to work temporarily, your prospective employer must generally file a nonimmigrant petition on your behalf with USCIS1 ….. it has been in place for over a century (see the history below).
The communist biden administration stopped processing and requiring the permits —- so some farmers have ended up with long term workers that need to have their papers approved.
In my opinion, President Trump is just saying they will correct what biden did and allow famers to resubmit their paperwork for long term workers.
He is not going to allow it to be a loophole for the nuevo, criminal illegals.
Promises made, promises kept …… both on removing illegals and correcting the failed processes of the communist biden administration that are hurting law abiding farmers and hospitality industries.

Six workers in the Lower Keys who were detained by immigration agents are now sitting in jail. Now, many are wondering why this happened in the first place.
“They are legally here. They have an authorization to stay,” said Regilucia Smith, the attorney of the men, who are from Nicaragua.
Smith says it should not have happened because five of the six have their paperwork in order with pending asylum cases.
“Valid work permit, not even close to be expired,” she said. “… again, no criminal records, not here, not in Nicaragua.”
“It was pretty obvious from the beginning that they were pulled over simply because they were six Latino men in a work truck,” said Virgil Scardina, who works with them.
Given his support for President Donald Trump, we asked what he would tell the commander in chief if he had a chance.
“What happened here? This situation is just totally just blatantly not at all what they said it was,” he said.
While Vincent agrees with most of the president’s policies, he thought the Trump administration was going to focus solely on deporting criminals. It seems immigration officials, he says, are just trying to meet quotas.
“It’s not just happening to me. I mean, it’s happening across the board to several contractors,” he said. “I know they’re all being hit by this hard. I know of one landscaper that lost nine or 10 of his whole crew he had and he’s just totally out of business all of a sudden, just like that.”

My opinion on Father’s Day….
To the gatekeepers of reproduction, women, do your part and stop laying down with males like Travis Decker, who by the way is still at large on this Father’s Day after killing his three pre-adolescent daughters.
I know they’re attractive, charming and exciting, but just stop. To nurture healthy children, a healthy and stable father is vital. That could appear a bit boring, so buckle in.
I was lucky to have one of those, meaning a boring, healthy, father. War vet, peaceful, stable, consistent, spiritual up until the day he died of cancer and went to God. Perfect? Nope, none of us are perfect. However, some flaws are more important to analyze than others when fatherhood is considered and with it the nurturing of a new life and molding a new mind. I think that would be a worthwhile discussion in itself.

As flawed human beings each of us is made up of our own foibles and experiences.
Given this, as parents, mothers or fathers, we do the best as we are able when we have children. As I’ve aged and grown (I hope) wiser, I have been able to see my emotionally absent father as the human being he was, shaped by war time experiences of which he never spoke..something I couldn’t as a child understand.
He was a strict man with unwavering principles and generous to all who knew him, with his time and his money, especially to our church where he served as a vestryman until he was physically unable to do so, serving our God Whom he honoured and loved.
Today, long after he has left this world for his eternal home, I see him first as the man he was who became a father and did the best as he was able, loving us in his own way as a good provider, an example of right, and a gentleman.
And now I understand him.

IF Trump gets a second appointment, I think he will appoint a current House or Senate member. Two other possibilities are VP VANCE or Texas AG Ken Paxton. Both qualified and young enough to serve 40 years.
The real power in this country are federal judges and especially SCOTUS judges.

Yada yada yada. I don’t care. Iran is a terrorist State. The world has allowed and tolerated Iran to speak and practice their terrorism for decades. The Iranian government has proven themselves to be a rabid dog in need of extermination. I don’t need the excuse of nuclear weapons to make this call. I pray for the innocent Iranian people. Perhaps they can be free again.
However, If Iran chooses to remain as they are governed now, without spreading their terror and murder outside their borders, it works for me.
I’m sure we will still be able to see videos of beautiful Iranian boys and girls shopping in the evenings.

Iran “has been on the verge” of a nuclear bomb for DECADES according to Israel and others…yet it hasn’t happened.
“delayed Iran” – which on its face accepts the reality that even if were true (which nobody has any way of knowing) they have been delayed, that it will eventually happen. So what’s the point in the delay?

Your post caused me to add another topic to my Sunday digging, that being finding out if and how the money/materiel flow has stopped to Ukraine, which has been actually destroying targets in Russia, all while Moscow arranged and put on a stellar Victory Day parade last month, something a lot like PDJT did yesterday.
Imagine us doing that while Chinese missiles (your posit) were vaporizing targets like the Air Force base you suggested.
Is our money funding those attacks in Russia? Has it been? If so, sounds like another menu item to add to the Israel/Iran mixer and get the warmongering stopped. Tall order. MIC likes war. A lot of American citizens collect a paycheck for building things that kill other people. They like their work and the comfortable life it provides.

There is no way to know we did not already give them these weapons and the means to deliver them. President Trump is saying that Israel and Iran can have peace, by making a deal, and talks are happening right now. He is right. We should support his approach.
Interesting from the 10pm news last night and scanning the web this morning.
Last night a talking head from ALL the local news affiliates of the MSM were reading from essentially the same “prepared script” with built in pauses for insertion video clips of some anti-ICE person spouting a few seconds of patriotic gibberish. Every other sentence in the “prepared script” had the phrase “peaceful protest”.
Last night there were no clips from LA nor Seattle. In fact not many clips at all because local authorities did not intervene as long as things stayed “peaceful”, which had to upset the MSM due to a lack of video clips showing authorities initiating any counter demonstration actions vs “peaceful” protestors.
Today making the rounds of the news websites … not much at all .. except for the clips from LA and Seattle on Breitbart, Fox and Newsmax (Fox Light) … and a cameo from a “peaceful scene”.
Probably the most interesting was that President Trump actually received good treatment last night on the local MSM affiliates related to the US Army’s 250 Birthday.

I am watching a field report from last night by NBC4 in D.C. and it echoes what you mentioned about the treatment by local MSM regarding the parade and PDJT yesterday.
I also found out something I didn’t know but I don’t doubt other Treepers did. The reporter mentioned that VP Vance and his wife celebrated their wedding anniversary yesterday, all in a positive tone. He even mentioned interactions between protestors and other crowd members as peaceful and positive.
24 hour cease-fire? IDK.
JD gave a short speech to introduce PDJT. JD mentioned that besides being PDJT’s birthday, it was also JD’s wedding anniversary.

Many of those protesting on the “No Kings” side are all for elimination of the one true King and our Lord and Savior, from the public space and eventually from anyone’s life.
“No King” – translates to my body, my choice, let me have what I want, when I want it, and how I want it — without morals or accountability to anyone. And please give me the money to do it, so it doesn’t cost me anything.

ya know, Rand is officially annoying. Him complaining about the cost of yesterday’s events reminds of the guy who walks passed dollars to pick up dimes. He’s a ‘No’ on the BBB.
