I just don’t get it. I’m 6’1″ and weigh 200lbs since my high school years. Busted my ass all my life as a Diesel Mechanic for 28 years and a Pipeliner for last 9 years. so right now, team Trump is prioritizing deportations for “bad guy” illegals. That’s fine and it makes sense, although it’ll be a very small net deportation number if that’s where it piddles-out. The bad guys are likely under 5% of the 40M+ illegals in America today.
When will ICE/FBI/DOJ go after the companies hiring the tens of millions of illegals that have been here for decades? There aren’t 15M fruit-pickers and lawn mowers running around and working for cash. The lion’s share of the illegals are working for medium to large companies with fake IDs. These companies likely know it and claim ignorance or they intentionally skirt the screening process for fake work credentials.
I realize that going after these companies and their C-suites legally will be very unpopular with the GOP and their donors, but this is the main magnet for the vast majority of illegals working here today. If you don’t do that because you’re afraid the GOP will not support your administration’s law-making efforts, then you failed.
Seems like every turn we see each week uncovers how embedded the GOP is with what they say they are against when they’re running for office.
Some of these companies get forced into hiring illegals, because their larger competitors do it and get away with it.
I think the reason they don’t go after the employers for Illegals is the

Recall as well, however, that the companies have been told by the federal government under prior administrations that they *must* accept any assertion that the applicant is authorized to work in the US. If he/she says they are you can’t ask for proof, or the feds would be after you for civil rights violations. Companies aren’t stupid, they could see which direction the risk lay prior to 2025. Add to that numerous claims that e-verify is completely useless.
You kind of have to start now, have DOGE fix e-verify, and aggressively enforce compliance from that moment on.
The illegals have been flooding across the border since 1965, meaning there’s probably 100+ million illegals in the country. Using 100 million, 5% of that is 5 million. The number of really bad illegals is probably north of that.
We have no control over what government does to business and industry which cooperates with the Communist, but we have choices.
Root them out, expose them, destroy them economically. If publicly traded, divest ownership. Shun their employees, go after anyone who does business with them with full disclosure of their evil, unlawful, heinous acts.
Remember, we work, we save, we borrow, we spend, we invest. We have choices. Will some pain, confrontation and social and economic consequences obtain? Absolutely they will.

I wonder what many of those “veterans” that you speak of would have to say about some of this. Because they were the people who put themselves directly in harm’s way for this. Quite a bit different from holding up a sign that somebody else manufactured(!) for you.

The veterans I know would be PROUD of knowing that they risked their lives so that people have the opportunity to speak up and protest freely. Some of the best things that this country has done has come from protest.

That’s a specious and stacked approach used to mislead the readers and viewers.
The adverse legal opinions conflate the term “predatory incursion” with invasion.
They also ignore that piratical activities across our history, like those perpetrated by the cartels in our current era, were resisted in prior centuries by States and federal government under the State Self Defense and Invasion Clauses.
Don’t get me wrong. We face a foreign invasion through the southern border in my view. In my head, a predatory incursion would indicate something temporary, like Pancho Villa raiding towns along the southern border and then riding back to Mexico. Invasion would be an incursion that is longer term in nature. Given that LA is evidently actively occupied by hostile foreigners, with no intention of returning, it is an invasion.

High school seniors are eagerly watching their mail this month, hoping for the “fat envelope” indicating acceptance by the college of their choice. Unfortunately, more American students are receiving the “thin envelope” because college acceptance rates are continuing their decade-long decline.
The most selective public colleges, such as UCLA and Michigan, now take one out of six applicants, compared to one out of three a decade ago. Top private colleges, such as Stanford and Harvard, admit one out of 20 applicants, compared to one out of 10 a decade ago.
What explains the steady decline in college admission rates for America’s best high-school students? Is it really true that the percentage of high-school graduates who are prepared for college keeps getting smaller?
One reason for this trend is the huge increase of students from foreign countries, especially China, who are admitted to study on American campuses. The numbers of Chinese and other foreign students who go to college in the U.S. is truly mind-boggling.

The universities push for foreign students because the students don’t require financial aid. The students pay full tuition and fees (in cash). More profitable to admit than a US citizen who applies for financial aid.
They run rings around our kids because our kids are not being taught. And the parents are working long hours while they no doubt get government funding to live on. Most of the parents I know are very frugal, responsible and college educated and can hardly get by.
Also, our kids are being held back by the kids in their schools that ‘no habla ingles’ and are mainstreamed or school funding is funding spanish only education for those kids so less or fewer academic dollars are available for the the American kids.

I work supplying Retailers with products. We used to manufacture in the US but now our brand is sourced from lower cost countries.
Most retailers have 60-90 day lag before they will accept a price increase. Add to that the fact that in the past couple months the tariff on China went from 10% to 20% to 104% to 145% before it stabilized at 30%. The pundits, and the good people of CTH, need to realize that a chain with 500-2000 stores cannot just “flip the switch” on a price increase. They have to order and print new tags to relabel the shelves, update their websites, re-do their monthly circulars and mailings and coupons,etc.
In my General Merchandise industry, 30% of our retailers started accepting new pricing from us in June but the other 70% demanded July execution dates.
I would simply caution against being too exuberant when looking at last month’s numbers. We probably wont see tariff impacts to consumer spending until Aug or Sep reports.

Examine historical precedent in Congress in reversing legislation and reversing their reversals.
I’ll posit it makes a good talking point but largely irrelevant to the political landscape.
Of much more interest to myself is their zeal with which to pass a transparent, efficient, reconciliation. Seeking to baffle me with 1038 pages which are still rendering in my pdf reader is not what I call transparent nor efficient. The good news is it is text searchable but be prepared for that challenge.

The EPA is the force behind keeping “rare earth elements” in cars.
You see, “rare earth elements” are an essential part in catalytic converters. Without Cerium Oxide, a Chinese rare earth element, there are no catalytic converters.
