He also mentioned (indicating excuse for lack of preparation, perhaps) that CA state law prevents cops from assisting ICE. He also claimed “dangerous” for cops to go in and start arresting people, e.g. in the middle of blocking roads. Seems to me that the “danger” might subside somewhat if guns were drawn, but of course, this has become viewed as unseemly cop behavior.

I believe I only saw one cop getting medical treatment earlier this evening; looked like something struck his face shield and damaged his nose, causing some bleeding. I don’t doubt there were other minor injuries.
So far, severe personal injury and death has been, to my knowledge, avoided.
I did see, at around 1am EDT, units bearing what I believe was the DHS shield show up en masse to one area to effect clearing the area out. They had their nightsticks out. The units sure didn’t look like local PD, Sheriff or CHP.
To me, that lack of severe injury and death helps the Commie mouthpieces better sell the ‘peaceful protest’ and ‘Trump bad’ narrative.
Things are winding down for the night as I post this but I’d expect a new round tomorrow morning, perhaps at LAX since it’ll be Monday morning travel time at one of the country’s busiest airports.

Looked to me that NG was protecting federal property and movements of federal officers only. They weren’t out moving rioters around or engaging them, at least that I saw, outside of those two missions.
Considering the scope of the riots, their presence is pretty minimal. How people react to their being there to protect potential targets they have no control over.

In any case, they are part of the famed 1st Marine Division … the “tip of the spear” in WW2 at Guadalcanal, Cape Gloucester, Peleliu, Okinawa … and in Korea at Inchon, the Chosin Reservoir, Punchbowl … in Vietnam … and in our wasted (my opinion) incursions into OIF and OEF … and they served our Country magnificently and did their duty w/ honor.

I hope POTUS has people monitoring communications that are orchestrating the moves in LA, now portland, and any other cities. The FBI and CIA cannot be trusted, however. Perhaps sherrifs, but they don’t have the technology tools the FBI/CIA have.
If we had the FBI/CIA under proper authority and control we would know who is orchestrating too. You can tell Newsome is talkign with other governors. Would love to have public record of those conversations — looking for intent — which is clearly to subvert law.

Has there ever been a situation where both the POTUS and Governor of a National Guard were wanting to use the same troops for opposite directives? We are about there. Newsome and BASS are ticked off that the POTUS is using the troops they were thinking about calling in.

In California, authority over the National Guard depends on whether it is operating under state or federal control:
It’s an important distinction because in 2020 in places like Minneapolis the Guard was called up (by Walz), but they weren’t allowed to do much. That allowed crooks like Walz to claim they had taken action without taking effective action. The rioters were given free rein.
In this case, POTUS controls the Guard, and so they can be given rules of engagement that are meant to stop the rioters, make arrests, and help ICE by providing security.
As the bad guys get rounded up, they won’t be caught-and-released by corrupt judges, either. That was a big feature of 2020 when there was a ton of money (financed by wealthy leftists/actors like Matt Damon) to post bail and get rioters back in the streets.
A long way to say “this isn’t 2020”. Trump’s plan is to remove enemy forces from the battlefield. Deplete their ranks. And I would wager they’re going to target the leaders this time and their funding sources.
That’s why the Tesla terrorism fizzled. People got arrested and charged with…terrorism…and Team Trump targeted the leaders egging on and funding the mayhem.

This is the right battle at the right time. It’s actually a blessing these people decided to riot in 2025 rather than next year leading up to the midterms. California is the poster child of sanctuary disaster. LA county is the ground zero of that mess. If they are beaten and law and order restored to LA county, then the rest of California will be easier. If California is beaten, then the rest of the sanctuary states and cities will be easier. I liken it to fighting a gang of thugs. If you crush their biggest, badest, toughest member, the others will fall easy. If this happened next year, the weak republicans would trip over themselves trying to appear kind and gentle to the DC establishment because they fear bad press running up to the elections.

Here in CA, a state that has had illegal immigration for decades now, you often hear uninformed people inaccurately state that the reason “Hispanics don’t do well in school and have a horrible graduation record” is because English is their second language.
A very high % of both legal and illegals from south of our border are illiterat in their own native language. Yes, they read in their own native language at about the 3rd/4th grade level and it’s NOT because they didn’t attend school.
The millions of them here in our state are more than a “challenge” to educate.
This plays out in every facet of American life, that millions upon millions new residents cannot read, cannot do basic arithmetic.
The mean IQ of the population of Mexico is 87, a full standard deviation from that of the population of the USA.
It gets worse with several Central American countries, Nicaragua, Guatemala ( IIRC, 79) and many others.
Adding to the problem is that such people who get here have many children and their IQs will be similar to that of their parents.
Yes, people squeamish about realities often don’t want to talk about such realities, but we are shaping our country in which most of its citizens will be limited in intellectual, academic, and scholastic potential.

If you are a teacher, it is career suicide to talk about the relation between genetics, IQ, and success in various pursuits. Actually, it’s a quick exit from employment and polite society for most professions, not just education.
