Speaking as a retired master mechanic….
Back when my brother was making recycled octane booster that you could not light with a match it had such high octane/<RVP>, but it promoted the He!! outta low grade fuel (87) so your engine would not knock.
Didn’t realize the <100/130 octane avgas> was still leaded …. I guess “they” do not want those expensive engines to have a short life expectancy but us serfs have been forced unleaded for how long now…. 50 years if I recall correctly since Jimmy Carters admin anyway.
Summer fuel is harder to ignite as its Reid Vapor Pressure is …. different <ok I forgot direction up/down>, winter fuel is easier to ignite as it is colder weather and must be easier to ignite in the cold weather.
Only vapor is flammable, liquid is not, hence why your electric fuel pump in the gas tank does not make fuel tanks go kaboom.
Used to have test kits for RVP, but really only applied to carbureted stuff due to vapor lock issues on low pressure mechanical fuel pumps.
Small nit-pick b/c I otherwise agree with everything else in general. Electric in-tank fuel pumps are brushless. No commutator that would cause a spark… that’s why your gas tank doesn’t explode b/c its possible for you to run your car low enough on gas to expose the pump, which would be operating in vapor at that point.
*edited: I’ll say ‘I believe they are brushless’ to be more honest. I know the one in my car is b/c I’ve had to replace it, that’s my extent of interaction though.

Fuel tank pumps are highly sealed to go along with being usually submerged for both cooling purposes and safety purposes, most tanks still have about 3-4 gallons of fuel left in it when it reads empty
Having looked up brush less DC motors, kinda looks to me like that is EV territory as it requires a controller and larger spaces to accomplish the same task by mimicking AC by electronic means’

I can see the “increased flammability” part as I looked up xylene and see that it is used as an octane booster for internal combustion aircraft fuel, its vapor pressure ranging at 25°C from approximately 0.882 to 1.167 kPa versus gasoline at 35 kPa to 100 kPa, but I don’t see any adhesion benefit as it is just as much of a thin liquid as gasoline.
For adhesion, I recall seeing a professionally made news item on YouTube, I believe, about improvised weapons being used by Ukrainians and they were filling bottles with bits of styrofoam which then dissolves in the gasoline. I guess that provides an improvised napalm.

Boulder has strong control laws, so no one was there with a concealed carry weapon to take down this madman from a safe distance. They had to rely on police response, which, as always, takes time. Just got back from CO. Beautiful state. I was struck how every Coloradan approached with a smile. Very independent people viscerally attached to nature.
