The federal judge who presided over former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s case last year before mysteriously being recused had a personal relationship with anti-Trump FBI official Peter Strzok, according to text mesages obtained and reviewed by Fox News.
The revelations about U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras are found in a new batch of text messages between Strzok and his FBI paramour, Lisa Page.
Contreras was appointed to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) in 2016, a topic of conversation between Strzok and Page.
“Rudy is on the FISC! Did you know that?” Page texted Strzok on July 25, 2016. “Just appointed two months ago.”

No Tax on Social Security cannot be done via reconciliation. It has to be done separately.
As an interim while that is worked on, seniors will get an extra $4k tax exemption for singles who make up to $75k and for couples who make up to $150k.
The “rule” could be set aside. Congress can do as it pleases.
I noted the standard deduction has risen slightly, a grand for poor old singles like myself, and the cessation of the personal exemption is made permanent. AFAIK, so far, everything below 32K gross is still non-taxable as related to the SS portion.
I see a lot of Medicaid and Medicare references in the bill so will have to research that more, though that is off-topic to this discussion.
I find the use of 135 instances of the phrase “Social Security” in the text of H.R. 1 and so far haven’t found anything applicable to the taxation of it.
Articles I’ve read either make no mention of cessation of the tax formula or state it is not included.
As someone on SS, Medicare and MedicAid, it is of interest to me, even though I won’t be affected either way on that particular subject.
Currently, the old “personal exemptions” are set to come back Jan 2026. Under OBBB they will remain “zeroed” out.
For tax years 2025-2028 there is an additional senior deduction added to the standard deduction for filers over 65 of $4,000. The amount is phased out based on MAGI (modified, in that certain interest etc is added back to AGI).
It’s like all these laws; since we have 10-year CBO “scoring” everything is temporary so it can meet some arbitrary “score”.
Bring it on. The judiciary are openly attempting a coup, necessary countermeasures should be taken.
