So it looks like President Trump is again backtracking on his tariffs – as Sundance posted new White House press release today.
More bluster, and caving, to a country w a history of widespread cheating and IP theft. And hundreds of thousands killed by fentanyl.
– We recently went from 145% tariff on China, to 10% + 25% – the fentanyl penalty. So 35% total?
– It’s now been reduced to 10% – like the rest of the world.
– the di minimus import tariff has also been substantially reduced.
– what did China give us in return? Shut down 50 fentanyl labs? Buy $100 Billion in ag products? Sales 101: where is the ‘Quid pro quo’ from this negotiation master?

His negotiating style is consistent: he hits hard; asks for the moon; and then gets what he actually wants/thinks is doable which is a level less that the initial ask, but more than the baseline from which he started.
Trump is not, and never has been an “all or nothing” type. He deals. And most of the time, when a deal is finally cut, it is for more than was in hand before the dealing started.
Think about it: folks are all over themselves talking about how he “caved”. Uh Huh……before all this started, baseline tariffs were less than 3%. Now they are 10% on EVERYTHING, and 30% on China. Plus he is cutting deals left and right with dozens of other countries.
Here’s what Trump is exceptional at: not letting anyone know what his “bottom line” is for any deal — until he gets it.

China dropped its retaliatory tariffs, so Trump responded similarly. Had China never retaliated, there never would have been 145%. So you’re lying by omission there.
All of the new National Security tariffs remain in place. The new elevated tariff baseline remains in place (but without Chinese retaliation). The de minimum tariff remains in place. And the fentanyl tariffs remain in place.

I was curious if you had any, you know, changed any of your views since you joined. You know, I know Dan Bino—you’ve been working on the pipe bomb investigation—and then had a follow-up. Have I changed any of my views on the pipe bomb, or just the pipe bomb, or anything related to January 6th or elsewhere as you learn more information in this position? So, everything, or January 6th, the pipe bomb—I guess, specifically, what’s the update on the pipe bomb investigation?
Answer: Ed Martin: Um, well, the FBI, as well as us, took a new look at it, put new people on it, new eyes on it, to get to the bottom of it. I would say, you know, anything like an investigation that complex—it’s a—there’s a lot to it, there’s a lot of data. And so, I think a new set of eyes is always good. Beyond that, I think we have to leave it go because it’s active, and I think that, you know, we’re optimistic.
Follow-up Question: Ryan Riley from NBC News: And in terms of the working group, what work product do you expect to ultimately come out of this? What kind of updates will you be having as we go forward with this?
Answer: Ed Martin: Well, you heard me allude to—I think one thing is we’re going to be more public-facing. When I was asked to switch over here, I was told, you know, “This job, you need to be out more and talk about what’s going on.” So, I think we’ll be a little bit more outward-facing in terms of talking about what’s happening. We’ll also be asking people to come towards us. At one of our recent meetings of the working group, the question was, “How do we set up a portal where people can come and talk about whether government’s been weaponized against them?” As work product—we’re in the Department of Justice, right? So, we’ve got US Attorneys, and we’ve got the civil rights division in DOJ that can take up cases, can prosecute cases. So, I think we have the full set of tools on the table across the country to look at, and I think we’ll be doing that. And, you know, there’s a lot of remedies under the law that can be taken up, but the starting point is to make sure that the public sees what we’re doing, understands it, and has confidence.
Follow-up Question: Ryan Riley from NBC News: Is there any concern that you’re picking the targets? There’s some criticism that you’re sort of picking the targets of the investigation before going forward with the full investigation. Are you open to finding out that there was no criminal wrongdoing?
Answer: Ed Martin: 100%, I’m happy to find that. It’d be great if we could find out that. But, I—first of all, I take two things. The president won the election, and his operating—his executive order on this topic was day one. Pam Bondi was confirmed by the Senate as Attorney General, and her memo was—whatever day she was—her day one. And that gave us specifics. So, I work in a system, and her specifics are the ones we’re operating off of to start, which I mentioned was targeting Catholics, January 6, Jack Smith, Letitia James—and we’ve got a whole bunch of people, a bunch of us, looking at all those. So, that’s the starting point. I think it’s the opposite—if you look back, and I’m now looking closely—you know, the Biden administration was targeting people. They targeted the J6 people to destroy them, to put them in jail. They were going for Trump. They were going for Trump. And so, what’s that? I mean, there was evidence of a crime there, specifically? No, no, no, that’s not what I’m talking about. Of course, there was evidence of crime when—when the—but I’m talking about when they used the 1512, they targeted individuals to make sure that they could put them in jail to build a case, and then it was thrown out. So, my point is the weaponization we’re looking at—and, but I’m happy to go back into the first Trump administration, further back, in terms of if weaponization—it seems like what we’re seeing so far is that the weaponization, the real focus, is in the Biden administration. But I’m happy to have any targets we can find, and if there were Republicans in government doing those things, we’re happy to focus on them—Democrats, independents, it doesn’t matter. It matters if government’s been used against the citizens.

Answer: Ed Martin: Anything that was a violation of law, including civil rights, including of people’s civil rights. I think one thing’s missed is that the Biden administration did a lot of violating of the citizens’ civil rights. And that’s something that could be a big opening too.

When you cannot get on board an airplane, that’s bad, when you cannot get online without Real ID and you cannot buy or sell without Real ID, and you cannot travel beyond your 15 minutes limit, you might begin to understand the unGodly possibilities of true horror of this government mandate.
There is no problem facing a government of the people that needs to be fixed by Real ID. (That’s tautological to old-school readers of the Declaration of Independence.) well…I’m not flying anywhere. If I cannot use the internet, that’ll be better for me because what i read mostly upsets me anyway. I’ve already sold my house and will not be buying another one. I’m already renting so there’s that. Guess I’m already in the position of not owning anything and will hopefully be happy with my choices.
The only problem I see is if I cannot buy food, that might be a problem. Although I have enough to last a while, after that I’ll just have to die of starvation. My casket has already been paid for, my funeral too. I’ll be buried in the mausoleum I had built for my husband and it’s already paid for and on a plot which has also been paid for. It won’t be pleasant but I’m ready and I’ll be glad when that time arrives because I’m really sick and tired of all the threats.

IMO: The fact that the Senate Republicans are bent on going along with the Dems with their obstruction to codify President Trump’s EOs gives us an early alert. They have shown themselves so early that we have almost four years to replace the worst offenders. They are all high on their perceived power to defy the electorate that put them in office. You can see the glee in their faces at the news conferences.
Time to start the hunt for solid Constitutionalists and America First Candidates to replace them, the leadership especially. It will take time to find the right candidates and there is only a year and a half to the first round. Remind them, too big to rig applies to mid terms also. Senators and Congressman should not be so confident as they were in the past that they will return to office.

Agreed. There have been a few J6ers who ran for office, I would like to see many more, they are patriots who know what it’s like to lose their freedom of speech, their liberty, and are hyper conscious of how close to the edge the US is to losing our Republican system, our sovereignty, capitalism, and our precious barely hanging on by a thread system of justice.
Lets fill the halls of congress with real patriots. A side benefit is that it would make the left even crazier than they are now.
