President Donald Trump is going to sign an executive order today aiming to dramatically lower prescription drug prices in the U.S. by tying them to the lowest price paid by any country in the world. The order is based on a “most favored nation” pricing model.
Anticipated Start Time 9:30am to 10:00am ET – Livestream Links Below.
.
These EO’s are great, but when is Congress going to make them into law. Asking for a friend😉
Amen. Have to codify the EO’s
There will be enough democrat defections to make the pharma EO law.
A Very Stable Genius!!!!!
He just brought this up, said he called Thune and Johnson to rescore the legislation
I absolutely cannot imagine what the Ds are thinking at this point…

The D’s are probably thinking – “when Joe did something similar recently, Republicans hated it. Gosh those Republican voters go whichever way they are told to go.”
The walking potato hasn’t had a original idea for a very long time, he did what he was told to do for 10%.
You don’t think our current President is being told what to do?
Evidence?
No.
No, that’s why they are trying to kill him.
Only by God.
By whom?
No, of course not, which should be (and probably is) obvious to you.
What I think is you’re a _ of _
No
Source, please?
He takes no money, so how’s he being told what to do? Become a dot connector!
Joe didn’t do anything. He didn’t even sign pardons. You know he was brain-dead, right?
And that is why they used the Auto-Pen.

How’s the weather at your Chinese troll farm today? That being said take a hike ya commie pig!!
Did you find the one where Biden rescinded President Trump’s EO lowering the price of insulin?
It must really suck to be a self hating WHITE liberal. Look on the bright side, you can now afford the meds to fix your mental block.
Joe, you need to read your own “evidence” links. The first link shows that what Joe (the other, slower Joe) was doing was nothing like what President Trump is doing. All ol’ Joe was doing was just pushing things around within Medicare. What President Trump is doing is with a clear understanding of how badly Americans have been getting screwed by international companies. And correcting it.
Your second link says the following about President Trump kicking Joe’s weak efforts to the curb. And this is a quote from your link: “However, experts suggest that the changes may have little immediate impact on out-of-pocket (OOP) health care costs for most Americans.”
It goes into some reasons as to why President Trump’s actions did NOT impact Medicare costs. Mostly because, like everything liberals attempt to do, the effort was so slow and impotent that nothing had happened.
Come on, man!
Why is this troll allowed to hijack the conversation?
<The D’s are probably thinking…>
I doubt it.
There’s always a first time.
Dude, you GLOW from thread to thread.
Its not just the D’s, and it may even be more RINOs that are grifting for campaign contributions and wealth transfers by allowing the parasitism of our health care dollars. Watch for the backlash. There are Trillions at stake.
Some version of “What about future pandemics in developing nations?” Globalist influencers of our American Congress have imbued the narrative that, if you’re a true American, you care fervently about every other country in the world, other than your own, for a long time.
The American Hospital Association comes to mind….
The dems are thinking they FAFO’d
That T-Man was compelled to did this is indicative of the fecklessness of the G0p!g.
I can hardly wait for the commies on the left & RINOs on the right try to spin this as to NOT make it permanent. What can they say? “Americans MUST pay more than other countries for the same drugs”. While liberal voters seem to be the MOST ignorant of the species, can they really see this as a bad thing? I know, i know, orange man idea is bad….lol
I’m almost positive “it’s racist.” (snicker)
PDJT isn’t pushing congress for a reason , just like he didn’t push Thomas Tillis on the DC attorney confirmation. There is more to the situation than meets the eye and I believe just like the DC US attorney PDJT has this issue under control .
Too bad Pam Blondie and Ka$h Blondie don’t seem ready for primetime.
they will be -dress down- soon…
Yes, his response to Tillis floored me – I should have known…. He is always so far ahead of them.
Tillis is “eff you see cayed!”
He said that this is in the Big Beautiful Giveaway
Shame sh*t as the first term when Rs had House & Senate and worked against him. He’ll work hard at getting lots of MAGA elected in midterms. Maybe last 2 yrs the RINOs will not rule the day.
pfft. most of Congress is on the Pharma payroll.
Apparently so – but Trump has them backed into a corner now. Waiting for the WSJ and others to find a way to trash the President over this… They the eliminate the comment section so no one can correct them. Very cute.
It’s already law under 15 USC Chapter 1. The Supreme Court held in a pharmaceutical case way back in, IIRC, 1978 that there can be no differential pricing for the same drug/service. It is a felony to do so.
Just as soon as a little over 50% of congress get a kickback that exceeds the Drug Company bribe.
Tell yer friend to SEE THE WHOLE BOARD.
If yer friend listened, President Trump lauded how great tariffs are, for exerting soft power, to persude other Govts to do what we see as being in our best interests.
He got two blood fued enemy nuclear powers, on the edge of war to back down, simply by threatening to cut off trade with them.
Does your friend have any idea how historic this is? He can now neuter/bypass the influence of the USAID/ Intel Community, and stop wars before they start, and end wars currently occurring.
Because of Americas unique exceprtionalism, no other country can do what he can, and hr is just getting started on exploring the limits of this power!
I would tell yer friend they aren’t just the kid in the back of the station wagon saying “are we THERE yet?” before getting out of the driveway, they
need glasses for thier .myopia.
This is going to be harder to police than it seems. Here in the US, it isn’t “pharma” per se as the cost originator that is driving prescription drug costs up, it is the middlemen – the pharmacy benefit managers/insurance programs. Unless you are going to be able to have international governments cough up their price contracts, you can’t audit it, and believe me, there are a whole host of ways to screw around with MFN-type clauses by having them sold through pharmacies, through wholesalers, third parties, “licensed generics,” etc. And good luck stopping Fentanyl at the border if you are going to allow reimportation to happen. Our drugs are high quality (at least in theory) because of our regulatory structure. Other nations … not so much (cough India China).
With your knowledge, it sounds like a great opportunity to have a positive impact on ensuring this CAN be policed, it CAN be audited and it CAN work.
Our President is one person doing the best he can. He’s bringing in the best he knows to help. It’s going to take all of us, taking positive actions to help right this ship. We can’t sit back and focus on how things aren’t going to work, but how we can all make an impact to ensure they work, now and long into the future.
Good comment, post more.
Remember, POTUS is a businessman…
And a show businessman.
As long as s POTUS is still beholden to the mob {Federal Reserve}…
Which currently extorts $1T annually from Our public Monies {OPM}…
They’ll just wait him out…

How about We The People muster ALL veterans and patriots and lay siege to DC…

How about just paying them {US}.

This is such a good point. So many people seem to think citizenship is a spectator sport, that our job is to “watch” what government does and comment on how well things are working. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The same people who sit around and “watch” events are typically the first to lament why things aren’t going right or why something won’t work, or the first to look for a conspiracy they want to uncover.
Citizenship requires looking for ways you can help create the country you want and then doing something to make that happen. It also requires understanding that most things are not perfect but if you keep chipping away you can make progress, which is a lot more productive than whining about problems.
Another wonderful comment.
Can’t never finished any job.
you should spend/waste a hour talking with my SIL (and/or her friends); the only news she gets/believes is from CBS and NPR
“So many people seem to think citizenship is a spectator sport, that our job is to “watch” what government does and comment on how well things are working.”
^^^^^^THIS^^^^^^
We already know what Europe is charging for same drugs.
Or, Canada!
Drugs in India, or any country S of the border, typically run $0.10 to $1.00 per pill.
If you bothrr to look, you can see that the World can be divided into countries where a Dr.’s Rx., (for a whole host of medicines) is required, (US, Canada, etc.) and those where no such requirement exists, India, any country S of our Southern border.
Those countries requiring a Drs Rx have much higher drug prices, and are also the countries with a big “drug problem”. There are other variables as well, but why buy fentanyl or who knows what, off of the street, when you can buy morhine for less $, and know what your getying?
And, since it is not forbidden, wheres the thrill?
Thank you. The information is equally revealing and disconcerting.
https://aspe.hhs.gov/reports/international-prescription-drug-price-comparisons
Thank you for sharing.
The health care industrial complex is a carefully constructed network of silos, where dollar amounts mean nothing. It has more stench in it than the deep state
What is needed is sunlight, transparency, clear money trails. Exposure.
Consumer control. Return of the power of the consumer and away from insurance companies who now own more and more of the health care delivery systems
Trump specifically said he was getting rid of these ‘middlemen’.
The art of the global weave.
Yes he’s Pounding on the Euro’s this A.M.. and Interesting that The President said this drug policy will be included in the big beautiful bill.
It’s unfortunate but in many ways much of Congress is one of the greatest threats to democracy.
I sure hope Ed understands that it is the blackmail that is the tool being used to drive/enforce government weaponization.
Prove the blackmail and weaponization will end with hundreds if not thousands in jail.
Simple as that.
If jail will take away their power, sure, but also take away any enrichment they received from their treasonous, fraudulent or other unlawful acts. Take the cars, the houses, club memberships, all of it like they are drug dealers, and slush it together for the American people, even if it’s only $1 each. Let them see what it feels like to have their ‘hard earned’ money taken and given to others so worthlessly.
So which corrupted, compromised, bought and owned federal judicial activist that Big Pharma will run to is going to attempt to enjoin this?
Perhaps if it reduces the cost of their adrenachrome addiction, they’ll be too conflicted.
There’s obviously a deal in place where Trump doesn’t mention VACCINES and Americans unable to sue Pharma companies like they can in the EU, and for good reason. I’m not worried there will be any backlash until people notice, without saying it, Trump is still saying The Vaccine Is Good.
Trump to fat friend on buying his GLP-1: “It’s not working”
OMG
I love him so much I can’t stand it
He is honest straight shooter.
No other elected official in government compares.
Did you know GLP1’s are hormones? Did you know the toxic food system has caused metabolic syndrome for more than 80 million Americans? Did you know GLPI’s are curing alcoholics, and drug addicts? Did you know GLP1’s are helping people with PCOS, and other genetic hormone imbalances, and disease? Did you know GLP1’s help diabetics, and not all diabetics are fat?
Did you know those GLP1’s could get many people back to work, exercising to get healthier, and increase fertility?
Did you know GLP1’s cost around $1200 month in the USA, but in the UK they are about to be sold over counter for $10 in their equivalent of Walmart?
what is PCOS?
polycystic ovary syndrome
Did you know Ozempic Face is not because people are ‘losing weight too fast,’ but a reaction to suppressing autophagy, which naturally removes dead, dying, errant and pre-cancerous skin cells before replenishing them with new?
Did you know the resulting wrinkles, texture, coloration, dryness and skin lesions, including cancerous, are not being addressed by lying doctors or manufacturers?
Did you know everything you just wrote is BS. I suggest you study ordinary people, not movie stars who use it for quick fix vanity.
Me? 11 years strict KETO and carnivore. Results? Breast cancer and leukemia.
President Trump could stand to lose a few pounds himself.
Those men behind him lost it when he said that! Funny things just emanate from our President. I am just happy he’s so productive and energized.
Dems are seething! They won’t get their usual kickbacks from Big Pharma.
Our President is beyond amazing. The release of the American. Israeli hostage? Who else could do that? No one did before this. Steve Witkoff is an amazing emissary.
Thank you God, for your miracles. We are not worthy, but extremely grateful!
Not just that…
He just removed a great part of their promise-laden but never followed through on” agenda.
Bernie especially, shell shocked, stands in the corner and weeps bitter, salty tears 😁
Totally agree!
It is a platform they stood on
many times and promised that
when they were elected they would
fix the problem. And they never did. 💁♀️
They just recycled…the promise.
Now President Trump has kicked that
platform out from under their feet!
And they are now…..swinging in the wind😉😉
I see no downside to this. 👏👏
Knowing we were being ripped off regarding
pharma prices was always a bitter pill for me.😖
Whereas I passed, on buying into that bitter pill, and began ordering my Rx. meds from India, Mexico and Thailand, 20 YRS AGO.
When PDJT first mentionef Hydrocloriquine in a daily Covid briefing, I was waiting for my order to clear customs.
The info on metabolic syndrome has been out there for years, just like the option of ordering your own meds, and even lab tests (yes, I have done that, too!) and in short, being your own primary care Doctor.
Drs,’s don’t cure or heal, the body does that. All we can do is optimise conditions, to make it easier.
U not wrong!
His Balls Kennedy His Balls
Nice…….I was looking for the one where Merkel was talking to some other Euro describing them.
Theresa May.
This is good. Now where’s the EO or FCC mandate to remove the pharma ads from TV & Radio? Time to join the rest of the world in forbidding these…and defund legacy media at the same time.
Hell yeah.
exactly, they bitch and moan drug prices are so high because of research and development.ban the ads then they will have plenty of money for r&d.
I think the nonstop ads for big pharma are just another means to keep the populace in a perpetual state of fear over their health. It is what helped fuel the Covid madness in my opinion. Americans are scared to death of their own mortality.
The purpose of all those ads is to buy the silence of the media over anything that goes against big pharma’s interests, and to push their preferred narrative to the exclusion of any other. Even if you are seeing these ads on a channel that does not cover the news, such as entertainment or sports only channels, they are still owned by larger networks that include the news channels. It will be interesting to see how they spin this. Don’t expect to see a whole lot of the truth.
Living in Mexico I’ve never seen a drug advertisement. Never
the buy the farm ads on tv disclaimers are in your face telling you:
in so many words:
hey bro its what ya need, BUT it just could kill ya. 😳
Our President is doing for Main Street
He will be taking the slings and arrows for us.
If you can not be happy for what this man is doing, then there is no making you happy on anything.
You will come here and post negative comments, but you will be first in line demanding your price cut.
President Donald J Trump proves all the time he is for the people, not our corrupt government.
The pricing of lemons are next!
I noticed at my grocery store they went from $0.99 each to $0.69 each about two weeks ago. The went up about 9 months after Biden was installed. 🍋
If only there was someone with the insight to have long ago pointed out that multi-national corporations have priced their products in every market to what that market can afford.
While we pay for it……subsidize it. Hide the cost to all taxpayer through insurance coverage but we are all paying high dollar through taxation for meds and food, Think SNAP…….. During my lifetime one income household gone….weekends off gone….paid vacation gone…retirement pensions gone.. freedom gone. Only government jobs offer such benefits.
We were warned in the early 1980’s about disappearing pensions. And that the idea of every American having a job was guaranteed–would be a thing of the past.
We have been suckered into the work too hard and too long schism…to the point of exhaustion yet the catch 22 is we desperately need to work. And have no quality spare time with our families. Now we train our replacements.
“We were warned in the early 1980’s about disappearing pensions.”
Yes. And along with that the promise that in a few short years the Social Security trust fund would be empty. And the official “government solution”? We all should stuff our money into bank accounts they would call an “Individual Retirement Account.” Trust us, they said. You’ll be sooooo much better off this way, they said. And then out came the projected income charts showing how rich we would become because of compounding interest. I remember looking at those charts where the interest paid was calculated at rates between 10 and 15 percent. How little we did know that actual interest would quickly sink to .1 to .15 percent.
Well, at least the politicians can still get campaign mileage by menacing us with continued threats of Social Security going bust in a few years. And they still pull Social Security taxes from the ol’ paycheck so we’ll have a nice income subsidy that doesn’t keep up with inflation…………
This is a fantastic essay by Sundance regarding the racket.
“When I say most multinational corporations hate capitalism many people look confused.
Multinationals want control; some call that corporatism…. but the names are moot. Multinationals want control of price and profit, and capitalism does not allow them control. That is why multinationals do not want capitalism. Multinationals use lobbyists to generate regulations that stall competition.
Multinationals do not want competition; they are, by nature of their interest, anti-capitalists.
This misunderstanding is everywhere.”

Where are the peeps who claim this is “government price control”? I hope they are watching this presser.
Not at all, we’re just not funding Socialist experiments in other countries anymore. Going to be great fun to see how they can afford mass immigration when they start paying their fair share!
Good point
Sorry to be “that guy”, but is this price controls? Are we supposed to applaud price controls?
You feel free to pay the higher price! Nothing will be stopping you, it is your right.
Something tells me you will not.
It is not price control, is returning to sanity, by not allowing a company to steal from us.
Like tariffs are taxes
This convo is going to get really ugly but it’s tough love
B8g Pharma now gets away with murder because they own the pols in DC, corporate media, academia, etc
SEE: FAUCI

They made it abundantly clear that almost every member of Congress has his own Pharma lobbyist. They almost all on the take.
The only price controls I know of is the higher prices Americans are forced to pay for research and development.
R&D what a crock……How long have they been researching cancer….any cure for arthritis? Diabetes? They create new “diseases” to treat.
No–it’s the repeal of price controls by Big Pharma.
Very astute comment.
Yes. You are sorry. If you had listened to the video then you would have your answer.
No. It is not price controls. They can charge whatever they want but they have to charge everyone the same price.
This is a common contactual clause inserted by the largest customer of any business. Give me your best price. Period. Don’t sell to others for less.
That’s what Walmart does.
It is NOT price controls. What we have currently is exactly that with Pharma taking us to the cleaners. This fixes that.
The tax payer pays for R and D…the same tax payer cannot afford the medication they paid for in the development tax payer provided process. That is so ethically wrong when the patient needs the med and cannot afford it.
Not price controls as you mean it. It is equalization.
In other words Europe and the rest set the price as they have done before. The US demands equality in price. It is up to the Pharmaceutical companies to decide on the price according to their research and development needs and in the best interest of the US. If the EU and others don’t agree then there will be another market to sell to. Pharmaceutical companies have the patents to the drugs, including the alternatives.
It. will start international competition. Competition will bring the prices down.
Reality…..everything in our world is “controlled”.
Big pharma kept pushing the prices higher…they pushed too far.
If you actually listened to the entire presser, PDJT was actually backed and he answered the issue of price controls. CLUE: Go to 1:17:43 and do some actual research for your answer.
It’s ‘fair trade’ or ‘burden sharing’.
It was price control over US payer. We paid allot …they paid a little.
Price controls are when government forces a vendor to sell at below the market price. This order demands we pay the actual market price instead of 5 or 10 times more than all the rest of the global market.
It is the termination of a multi trillion dollar subsidy program to pharma companies and other countries’ health systems.
Previous US policy was equivalent to The Marshall Plan for pharmaceuticals. We paid more and allowed others to pay much much less. We subsidized a gigantic industry. We subsidized other developed countries’ socialist national health systems.
Until 2025 Medicare Part D was prohibited from negotiating prices with pharma companies. That was intentional. The higher US drug price was a way to hide a direct subsidy to pharma companies behind the boogie-man of “rising healthcare costs.”
And in return for those subsidies the pharma industry “repaid” the US by moving all its production out of the USA. The pharma business model is built entirely on US patent protection, defended by US trade policy and US power in the global marketplace. Pharma companies enjoy all the benefits of US protection and then loot the US Medicare and Medicaid systems in return.
Other countries enjoy the benefit of breakthrough drug R&D paid-for by the US taxpayer and consumer. Meanwhile they demand pricing below the level where drug companies can afford to develop new drugs.
No more Marshall Plans!
Pharma lobbyist who are allowed to gouge the American consumers is “price control”
“Green Energy” is another one.
What is common denominator?
Communist Democrats
And RINO co-conspirators.
Congress.
I know someone whose career has been a Big Pharma rep and what a career it is – BIG bucks.
Better tell him to learn to code.
So let’s do some math…….
Today the US imports around 3.83 Trillion dollars of products annually
If PT was able to get on average a 10% bump up in tariff revenue annually worldwide that would equal $383,000,000,000 in additional revenue.
If PT was able to get on average a 15% bump up in tariff revenue annually worldwide that would equal $574,000,000,000 in additional revenue.
Using 2021 figures the total tax paid in by all Americans who make less than $150,000 was about $63,000,000,000.
It would appear PT could easily eliminate taxes for all Americans who make less than $150,000 annually.
Now imagine the following victories:
Borders secure & Illegals being deported meaning safer AmericaTaxes eliminated for those earning $150,000 or less30-80% reduction in Prescription MedicinesPossible increase in SALT deduction for those earning more than $150,000 coming soonRegaining the Rule of LawUkraine war resolved – coming soonThe only thing missing is investigating, indicting and arresting the DS and putting hundreds if not thousands in jail for sedition, blackmail, rico, money laundering trafficking and possibly murder & attempted murder.
Ed has a HUGE opportunity to use the Epstein files and upcoming investigation to blow open not just the weaponization of the government but also the DS entirely if he pinches a few high up DC folks who are captured on video.
On a side note with all these successes, I’d strongly suggest PT continues to use Stephan Miller to help explain these victories and what they mean to the everyday American.
I love when you do math! 🙂
Can you imagine if hey actually got busy going after the real destructive crooks like the politicians, CEO’s, MSM, Lawyers, Big Banks……they would not have time to harass you , me and joe blow.
He just confirmed what I said. Currently we are under “price control” via the big pharma/lobbyist.
Not anymore! Signed!
Trump absolutely obliterates ABC reporter trying a gotcha about the Qatar plane. “Your network is a disaster!” Tell us how you really feel. LOLOLOLOL!
ABC doesn’t mind that Qatar is the Muslim Brotherhood Headquarters because its a NATO/CIA Client State. That’s not important.
But how can we Get Trump today?–That’s important!
That is exactly what they do every day.
What a sad existence
If that is a glass blown object you provided us viewers, that is some fine craftsmanship!
Wait for it, but one has to believe the UniParty that has been on the payola of Big Pharma is going to rise up and spin this some how as bad for business and R&D. Once again, the American consumer and tax payer is expected to pony up. They just fleece us everyway and anyway they can.
The Democrats and their constituents will absolutely find a way to put a negative spin on this.
As in you will no longer get it free, but now you can afford to buy it? That kind of spin?
Another tentacle of the 80-yo Marshall Plan is being amputated.
The End has come to subsidizing Europe and all the straw organizations.
Market up 1,000…
I’m so disappointed that the community cannot see that this EO is unconstitutional. And for the record, I’m a Trump fan but wrong is wrong. the order is unconstitutional under:
Declaration of Independence section 2 (govt overreach is a no-no)
Constitution Article 1.8 (the commerce clause)
and the 10th Amendment (limits the powers of the federal government)
Government does not have the authority to force a business to lower a price on a product. Just like the government did not have the right to force the American people to buy health insurance. (obamacare) Don’t we have to stick to our constitutional principles?
Surely sarcasm.
Are you a Pharma lobbyist? Just asking for a friend.
I’m not a lobbyist, I’m a constitutionalist and I will not pick and choose when the constitution needs to be followed. The govt has no right to set prices for a public company. Now if the the govt and the company come to a negotiated agreement that is another matter. If the govt is negotiating price with foreign companies, THAT is another matter. But for the govt to force a company to charge a certain price for any product, sorry, that is against the free market aspects of the constitution outlined in the sections I cite above. (my own research: “The 5,000 Year Leap” for one) I hope I’m wrong and interpreting this improperly but so far I don’t think so.
.
If you actually were a “constitutionalist” you would understand that notwithstanding the shakey ground on which Helvering v. Davis was decided, nowhere in the constitution does it say that the federal government needs to buy or reimburse insurance companies for any pharmaceuticals… or provide Medicare… or Medicaid… https://lawliberty.org/the-unconstitutionality-of-social-security-and-medicare/
.
Which shade of ANTIFA do you wear?
Horrible thing to say when simply trying to follow the constitution.
Your avatar is appropriate.
According to Press Secretary this morning, we are 5% of world population, but we make up for 70% of Pharmaceutical profits. We are overpaying, and frankly, being robbed. Now, we pay what ever the lowest price is that other countries pay. Fairness. He’s not forcing them to lower prices. I suppose they could keep them the same, but they have to raise prices significantly everywhere else in the world. I doubt they do that. Probably our prices come down a lot and they go up elsewhere a little to balance it out.
So it’s ok for the govt to determine the price of an American company’s goods? let’s play this out. Will the govt determine to price of iPhones in every country of the world, the price of mattresses at home and abroad, the price of hotel rooms? Where does it end?
He’s not setting the price. Why should we pay $5.00 for some pill if people in other countries pay $0.50 for the exact same thing? 🥴
I answer this below, too. The interview I linked is the clearest I have found.
The pharmaceutical business discounts the drugs for the American consumer and the PBM’s are not passing the discounts on to the consumer. Here is an interview with Rep Auchincloss where he explains it – https://www.newsmax.com/newsmax-tv/jake-auchincloss-pharmacy-benefit-managers-drug-costs/2025/01/06/id/1194078/
plus, the other countries that pay less for the drugs are price controlled by their governments so the pharmaceutical company CANNOT SELL IT at a different price. The downside for the citizens of those countries is that they don’t have access to the best and newest drugs like the American citizens do.
No, the downside is, is that any drug they do get is paid for by US
.
Oh gee. Does the government subsidize mattress research, and reimburse insurance companies or pay directly for people’s mattresses?
.
Medication isn’t a mattress. You’re basically saying if you have cancer you must die right now, or in the case of a mattress, sleep on the floor.
The floor, and death are two different things. Do you understand NEED from WANT?
Of course he can do this. The Fed health care programs are the biggest purchaser… thus they can negotiate terms.
The rest of it will have to be done by Congress (hopefully) to ensure that the USA is treated BETTER than every other Country when it comes to pharma. We pay for the R&D so that the rest of the world gets the benefit. No longer!
This will be a big positive for the economy.
Yes, a lot of sick people can go back to work.
A Deep State Gestapo, Rigged Elections, Oligarchy Buying Politicians, Workaday Treason, A Government that Traffics Drugs, Bio-Weapons and Children…but Price Controls are where we draw the line?
A strict observance of the written law is doubtless one of the high duties of a good citizen, but it is not the highest. The laws of necessity, of self-preservation, of saving our country when in danger, are of higher obligation. To lose our country by a scrupulous adherence to the written law, would be to lose the law itself, with life, liberty, property and all those who are enjoying them with us; thus absurdly sacrificing the ends to the means.“–Thomas Jefferson
Thanks for reminding me of how much I love Mr. Jefferson!
We’re created equal!
It’s the constitution. If we are going to allow the govt price controls of American business’s products we are going to need an amendment to our constitution to grant the govt those powers.
I get what you are saying though. Like, why are we the ones who have to follow the constitution when no one else does, but we have to have standards or no one will take our argument for a free society seriously.
.
The government not only funds Pharma research (for Pharma’s sole benefit, no profits back to the U.S. taxpayer), but also ultimately pays for drugs through Medicare and Medicaid. This isn’t socialist “price control” as much as it’s “this is all I’m going to pay.”
.
You dense person.
When hurricanes are approaching FL the state government prohibits hotels/motels and other lodging from raising their prices so as to take advantage of desperate people in a desperate situation. That is called Price Gouging.
Pharm in the USA versus the rest of the world is another Price Gouging situation in that 4% of the planet (the USA) has to pay ALL of the R&D for pharmaceuticals AND get to pay up to 80% more than the rest of the world.
Price Gouging has been determined to be unfair AND illegal but everyone in DC and the media don’t give a d@mn about Americans. They are getting their $$$$$ to live their lavish lives so no one bothered to try to stop this Price Gouging racket.
Not an apples for apples comparison. The pharmaceutical business discounts the drugs for the American consumer and the PBM’s are not passing the discounts on to the consumer. How many times to I have to say it.
I’m just curious… do we want to the pharmaceutical companies to keep creating life-extending and life-saving drugs or not? Why would want to the govt to control them if we want them to stay in business? Why would they stay in business if they don’t make a profit?
“creating life-extending and life-saving drugs”
This is arguing facts not in evidence… see The Clot Shot.
Indeed.
Pig Pharma stopped “life saving” a long time ago, in my humble opinion.
WE PAY FOR the R&D already. We do a lot of the research via federal grants… then big Pharma manufactures the drugs WE ALREADY PAID to be developed and then charge the USA people MORE than other countries using “R&D” costs as the reasoning.
Why should the USA taxpayer fund the socialism of say the UK? They get their pharma at significantly less cost than we do.
The profit that Big Pharma makes is egregious. The American Taxpayer has been paying and paying and paying. Time for us to get a break.
You are pitching a losing argument.
.
Oh please stop shilling for Pharma. They can just raise prices around the world — just a little — and make up their costs. And they can now, thanks to Trump’s tariff maneuvers.
.
The PBMs are indeed at fault.
They are the middlemen PDJT said must be removed from the equation.
PT is undoing what they did which is unconstitutional…..They set up the system….PT is just making all things equal within the system they set up.
If PT is telling the pharmaceutical companies what they have to charge for their products, it is not constitutional.
PDJT is saying that Pharma must pass on their R&D costs evenly to their worldwide customers instead of
exclusively to their US customers.. The R&D costs are what is creating the disparity in prices.
Maggie — you summed it up perfectly!!!!
OMG! Are you dense? He is NOT telling them what they can charge. He is telling them it is time to put America First!!!!!! Let other Countries pay a little more.
No.
He’s telling them that if they are charging, say, the UK $100 for a drug, they can’t sell the same thing in the US for $900 🙂
.
You are so confused about what the law requires that you don’t even understand that the Declaration of Independence is not in any way the law.
.
The EO impacts Pharma’s bottom line NOW. That’s the Medicare, Medicaid, and the insurance industry cash flows halved, at least. This is in addition to USAID, PBS, WHO, UN and other democrat cash already shutoff. Starvation comes quickly. Don’t need Congress now.
can you imagine if he gets rid of the IRS and the resulting loss of power that Congress will experience….oh happy day.
Bingo. Congress is being shown to be beyond worthless. In fact, a hindrance to democracy and the will of the People. The first step to dismantling it hopefully.
The next step as everyone know, the demwits go into melt down mode and start marching on dc demanding that we keep high pharm prices.
Prophetic!
The prayers of all the chronically ill were answered today. I pray they get to now keep their homes they worked for in good health, and their final days more stress free, and comfortable. Amen
Exactly the direction of my thoughts also
Amen!
One by one, Trump is picking off D’s most popular issues, and there’s almost nothing left except FRINGE
FRINGE can’t win jack-crap
Where D’s go from here is a mystery, looks like the ashes they’re looking to rule over are limited to the smoking carcass that used to be the Democrat Party
The only thing left for the Dems will be – Vote for us, we love sick perverts in ivory towers!
In the past, right before the midterm election Chief Justice Roberts made a ruling on abortion that fired up the dims base. The RINOs then come out from under their rock and made statements that threw gasoline on the fire.
I would not rule out, in one form or another, deja vu all over again.
Once Trump gets the Ukraine war settled and gets Iran bankrupted and unable to fund Hamas or other terror groups the Dems will lose two more of their big issues. Dems already lost on unemployment, egg prices, tariffs, drug price, DEI, stock market/401K and the border.
The only thing Dems will have left to fundraise on is transgenders in women’s’ sports. That might be why Dems are fighting so hard to keep that issue going.
PDJT said that his deal with the pharma companies includes getting rid of the mysterious “middle men” that jack the prices up.
My bet is that the “middle men” take that money and spread it around all over DC but it is “off the books”.
Judge Boasberg will set this straight. We need these things codified into law!!!
What’s your secret sauce to get it past the certain Dem filibuster in the Senate???
PDJT also stated that if these countries refuse to pay the higher equalization price then that will impact the Trade Deal that they have with the USA. He will make them pay one way or another.
I must say that I prefer President Trump’s means of persuasion to that used by his predecessors.
Better to use financial persuasion than to resort to arms.
Money is a great motivator and even the losers in Congress know this. They are very motivated to screw over American citizens if they can fatten their wallets.
PDJT is the first to truly use money motivation to get people and countries to fall in line.
When the courts try to intervene in this EO it’s REALLY not going to go over well with the general public. And that lowers to the bar for POTUS to take more drastic measures to deal with our corrupt courts.
Since RFK name dropped him I would assume Bernie would be on board
supporting any legislation involving this matter. Maybe he can co-sponsor
it to get his name on it.
RFK can try shaming Bernie into doing that but Bernie has made millions of dollars railing against pharma and the oligarchy that it may be that he has to pull a “Rand Paul” and betray US citizens for the sake of money.
BTW, Thom Thillis put out an X post talking about how great the Golden Age of America is going to be as though he is contributing to the cause. He is getting destroyed in the comments.
Except this RINO wouldn’t approve of Trump’s pick for DC attorney.
.
Bernie gets enormous money contributions from Pharma.
.
I wonder how much of our “free” trade looks like this? Libertarians spend a lot of time playing pretend.
Crony-capitalists hide behind Libertarian clothing.
This may be a stupid question, but with the lowering of pharmaceuticals, could this indirectly or directly have an effect on healthcare insurance costs? Congress, please get to codifying these EOs stat!!!
In the press conference PDJT mentioned that Congress now has to use these new lower numbers when budgeting for Medicare, Medicaid, and other medicine programs.
These price reductions should have to lower healthcare insurance costs. We will see. I don’t want the costs for health insurance go down but my premiums stay the same.
OMG I just love our VSGPDJT! Especially at the end with the stupid media questions about their pants on fire Qatar jet gift to the US. They are going ballistic over that one. hahahaha
The genius at work.
The global food cartels are next…
Watching Trump dismantle the fake press is so entertaining.
I would have a little more caution on this issue.
If this puts pharmaceuticals out of business, good. But we should aim to be a nation of healthy people that don’t need meds. When obamacare made opioids more widely available, a crises spread, even though the blame was never properly assigned ‘cuz he was teh One.
Price of drug stocks is up today.
Price of drug distributors and resellers [like CVS] is down.
I take special note of President Trump’s response to the ABC reporter who asked him to justify the Qatar gift of that grand, huge jet. His response was direct and shaming to the nasty reporter.
I like the direct push back by our President; yet, with the democrats angling and praying for blood in the streets Trump must use language and tone that does not push our people into direct conflict with those who hate him (and us). Let these people draw the first blood (then behave like Rambo… perhaps) which my money is on.
As a former golfer and fan of Sam Snead (loved his hats and smile!), I understand bad putting and the gift of giving a put to one’s score (that didn’t happen much…just like the probable education of the ABC reporter!).
I bet poor Georgie Boy is peeing in his pants over this retort by Trump…knowing the gloves are off! About time is my thought…
The MSM deserves to be treated exactly the why Trump is treating them, the are all a bunch of lying, bloodsucking harpies…
God bless President Trump for revealing just how abused the USA has been by other nations, multinational corporations and the Globalist elites.
MAGA Fabulous!!
👊👊🇺🇸🇺🇸❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻
I just got to a hotel and don’t really have time to dig in right now.
I understand how he could force US companies to comply, but how would foreign pharmaceuticals be forced to comply?
I’d be happy just to never having to see another stupid Jardiance ad with all those fat people singing and dancing 🙂
This would not be a bad thing
The President sounds wore out 😩
I’m getting a little tired of winning…NAH, keep it coming President Trump! Thank you for all you are doing for all of us and for our country.
I support this in general, but I’ve thought of a couple of things that may not be accounted for in the executive order.
1.) For fairly cheap drugs that can’t be sold profitably at world prices in the US due to its regulatory and bureaucratic parasite load, this EO means those drugs won’t be sold there at all.
2.) For expensive new drugs, sales at lower prices outside the US can no longer be used to help recoup investment costs, so this EO means US prices will stay higher longer during the recoupment period and that most of the rest of the world won’t be able to afford them at all. OTOH, that dynamic will drive research out of the US, which is probably a good thing in the long run.
I think that US prices will go down some, while at same time prices elsewhere will go up and the US subsidization effect is significantly reduced.
That’s why I support this in general.
Drugs above some minimum price (and let’s hope that counts before Obamacare’s added costs) will be cheaper in the US because Big Pharma won’t be allowed its usual cronyist extortion. Similarly, older drugs that are solely produced in the US will forced to be more expensive elsewhere (sucks if you live there and need them).
I’m just a little worried about a couple of edge cases, and if they make enough difference to matter, they’re easy enough to fix. And government would be willing to fix them, probably.
Anyone know how this will affect the price of Eliquis?
Eliquis is sold in India for pennies on the US dollar..Month supply $3.60 in India. May there be hope for your friend.🥰
That is criminal. I deal with this financial unavailability every day
As I continue to learn about the inner workings of this decision, I grow in approval.
I note that stock prices of the actual drug makers are up today — but those of the “middlemen” like CVS and other distributors and resellers of drugs are down.
If I am understanding this properly — declaring that drugs must be priced similar to what they are sold for in various overseas countries means potential for huge savings by consumers.
For example I saw on Fox Biz that Ozempic costs over $900 in the US, but under $100 everywhere else. I suppose it is possible that the under $100 figure is lower than a true cost — but is made possible because of the huge margins being charged on the same stuff in the US.
If this is the case, then I expect price movement down in the US and price movement up overseas as everyone ultimately starts paying the true price for the drugs.
Ozempic is so last year. Prices are already being advertised through 3rd parties for less. And it was rarely covered by insurance, so it came out of pocket and was usually bought directly from the doctor, so not sure how it’s an example of prescription drug prices, but whatever.
They’re trying to dump it because, along with Munjaro etc, it doesn’t work for weight loss, but does give Ozempic Face ie Granma Skin, including cancerous lesions.
Nobody who’s anyone is on it anymore.
If trying to keep up, know the beautiful and glam have moved onto NAD and Peptide injections.
Keep in mind that almost all of the “middlemen” — the pharmacy benefit managers: Are owned by health insurance companies.
Thus, the insurance companies who already are holding our health care money through premiums or taxes, are making additional profit from the profit of the middleman PBMs, AND they are disallowing the expenditure of moneys which are unfavorably high.
PBM middlemen are really the “straight men” in the big pharma con game. Their job is to make the sucker think they are getting a great deal, while they are actually being taken to the cleaners.
Here’s how the con works: Big Pharma posts a preposterously high initial price. The PBM middleman comes in and “negotiates” the price down to a level that is still too high, but way below their initial throwaway price.
To put some hypothetical numbers in to illustrate: Let’s say the global market price for drug X is $5. Pharma tells the buyer the price is $1000. The buyer freaks out and hires a PBM middleman who negotiates pharma down to $20.
The buyer thinks they are getting a great deal. The PBM collects a fee for negotiating. The pharma company sells at a higher price than they should. Everybody walks away thinking they won.
The PBM may or may not actually be getting a kickback under the table from pharma.
So I’m supposed to feel sorry for Poor Big Pharma getting beat up by the EU, seriously?
Are we talking about the same companies that made medicines and VACCINES they knew did irreparable harm, were worthless or both? And not just found out about after, like from VARSA, but from facts they hid in their pre trials?
So the only reason EU allows drug companies to be sued is to decrease drug prices, not to compensate the victims for acts so heinous and deliberate the high damage costs were justified?
Did anyone else notice reiteration and detail on practically everything else after the EU lawsuits were skated over and absolutely NOTHING mentioned on how Americans aren’t allowed to sue Big Pharma in the US in the same way they can in the EU? Why we must ask permission and then accept a low cap on compensation, no matter the guilt or level of bad conduct by the drug company?
Is the very informed RFK Jr and President Trump not as informed as Candace Owens with her deep dive on Big Pharma and the V word, A Shot In The Dark?
I don’t think so.
Lying by omission is still lying. This was a complete SNOW JOB.
President Trump should have been wearing a big red hat that said –
THE VACCINES
ARE STILL GOOD
