I was fascinated by the Abarth versions (1000cc ) which were a lot faster. There were, in fact, a number of “Italian tuners” who produced much modified versions of these interesting little cars. Bit Abarth was the most famous. A friend owned a Abarth/Zagato version (handmade aluminum body, twin-cam modified Fiat motor enlarged to 1000cc). Never owned one of those but I do own a rare Lancia Flaminia Zagato 3C . . .

Ended up with a ’62 Maserati Sebring. 6 cyl. twin cam, Lucas fuel injection, 240hp, 5 speed ZF gears, 16in polished Borrani wires. Fast “Grand Touring” car. Sigh. Was the only grad student at UT with a Maserati. Real standout in student parking.

My limited experience with ’50s and ’60s sports cars (through friends & friends’ siblings) was that they were finicky with tuning and went out-of-optimum tuning relatively frequently compared to “Detroit iron”.

My weather radio has been squealing at me since early yesterday afternoon. The area it covers is South Oklahoma, North and North Central Texas and Texarkana, so it squeals quite a lot during storm season.

Anyone else notice how absolutely unreliable Google has become? I know it has historically had a bias, but it has become so insufferable that it is practically worthless.
Ask it a question, and the first thing it returns is an answer generated by AI that is based upon whatever biases and opinions were programmed into its AI model, often flat out factually false, and then the only search results it returns are sites that support the biased AI blurb. Controversy? Difference of opinions? Theory vs fact? None of it exists. The only thing Google has are the opinions and biases of whomever programmed its AI section. And that is all it is going to show you. Worthless.
I was driving down the street during a particularly beautiful sunset that extended all the way to the Eastern horizon. Wondering what atmospheric condition cause the Eastern sky to light up like that at sunset, I googled it. “Why does the Eastern sky turn red at sunset?”
The response AI gave me was something like “The Eastern sky does not turn red at sunset. The sun sets in the West. Only the Western sky turns red at sunset.” Then followed a series of citations supporting that the sun sets in the West.
Problem was, I was looking right at it. The Eastern sky was bright red. So I duck ducked it, and within the first couple returned cites got my answer. The whole affair was so surprising that I don’t now remember the answer. I only remember the hubris of Google’s AI machine (meaning the hubris of its programmers) returning FALSE responses and telling me I was not loooking at what I was looking at.
Google should change its name to “truth be damned.” They may have already destroyed it. Once credibility is lost and trust is destroyed it is nearly impossible to recover.
If it’s historical it is often accurate, but anything having to do with current events, forget it. Much like Wikipedia.
The problem with that is that there is currently a lot of fake history being promoted, like the 1619 project, or the notion that the US Constitution was based upon the Iroquois Federation of Nations, or that Lincoln was gay. All of those are false, fairy tale history. Google loves false fairy tale history stories, and depending upon which one you search it will return NO results that contradict the fairy tale. Every “history” citation returned by Google should be preceded by “Long ago, in a galaxy far far away ….. “
The left has rewritten most of history just like they have rewritten dictionaries .

“The apostle’s earnest desire for the salvation of the Jews. (1-4) The difference between the righteousness of the law, and the righteousness of faith. (5-11) The Gentiles stand on a level with the Jews, in justification and salvation. (12-17) The Jews might know this from Old Testament prophecies. (18-21)1-4 The Jews built on a false foundation, and refused to come to Christ for free salvation by faith, and numbers in every age do the same in various ways. May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles.
