If you never followed how President Obama constructed and influenced the rise of Justin Trudeau in Canada, then it might seem perplexing when President Donald Trump stands generally ambivalent to the outcome of today’s election in Canada.
When asked about the election in Canada President Trump previously said, “I don’t care. I think it’s easier to deal, actually, with a liberal and maybe they’re going to win, but I don’t really care.” The core of President Trump’s position stems from the economic issues that have been present for decades. Leading candidate Mark Carney, who had not lived in Canada for the past 10-years until his installation, has said he is prepared to guide Canada into an alignment with the European Union.
As Secretary of State Marco Rubio outlined, previous Prime Minister Justin Trudeau traveled to Mar-a-Lago and said if President Trump was to make the Canadian government pay reciprocal tariffs, open the USMCA trade agreements to force reciprocity, and/or balance economic relations on non-tariff issues, then Canada would collapse upon itself economically and cease to exist.
In essence, Canada cannot survive as a free and independent north American nation, without receiving all the one-way benefits from the U.S. economy. To wit, President Trump then said, if Canada cannot survive in a balanced rules environment, including putting together their own military and defenses (which it cannot), then Canada should become the 51st U.S state.
The Canadian Mitt Romney “conservative”, Mark Carney’s closest competitor, Pierre Poilievre, is also very upset at President Trump.
As the majority of Canadians cheer, both Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre said that Canada, as a free independent and sovereign nation, will now embrace its connections to the United Kingdom and European Union and seek to replace their national dependency on the United States by severing ties in North America and entering a new era of close relations with Great Britain and Europe.
When questioned if Canada would join the European Union, a seemingly natural fit for the ideologically aligned country, Prime Minister Carney said, “nothing is off the table.” In a rather remarkable end to the confrontation, Carney says the economic and military ties between the USA and Canada are officially declared severed.
Structurally from an American economic perspective, the lens through which President Trump is primarily focused, it really doesn’t matter which of the leading Canadian politicians wins the election. The financial dependency on the USA is going to be severed.
President Trump hits Canada with an approximately 50% tariff. Let’s say an import widget from Canada costs the purchaser/importer $100 CAD + 50% tariff, now $150 CAD.
$1 CAD = 0.70¢ USD
Without U.S. tariff, it costs $70 USD to purchase the $100 CAD widget.
With the U.S tariff it would take $105 USD to purchase $150 Canadian widget
However, due to economic policy, Canada’s dependence on the USA market and the tariff battle, the Canadian currency drops around 30%. $1 CAD now equals 0.50¢ USD
With currency drop it now costs $50 USD to purchase the original $100 Canadian widget. $75 USD with tariff.
BEFORE: $70 USD without U.S. tariff, or AFTER: $75 USD with 50% U.S. tariff. A net change of $5.
But wait, back to Mark Carney’s plan. As stated in his tariff policy, the prime minister will take income from the Canadian side of the tariff equation (countervailing duties) to subsidize the impacted export sector. Just like China and the EU did in ’17, ’18 and ’19, the Canadian government plans to offset the difference to the U.S. consumer by subsidizing the exporter with import tariff income. All of this is done to retain access to USA consumers.
The final outcome, the U.S. purchaser is back to the original price of $70, only now that same outcome is evident with an invisible $50 tariff.
This is what China tried to do. This is what the EU tried to do. This is what Canada is now planning to do to retain access to the U.S. market while they look for alternatives.
But wait, it gets better….
….. As the Canadian financial sector evaluates the likely drop in the CAD currency, they seek safe harbor investment to retain the value of their money. The reciprocal tariffs are hitting every currency. The Canadian finance sector purchases dollar and dollar-backed assets to retain their value. This approach increases the value of the U.S dollar.
Do you really think President Trump gives a hoot about PM Carney’s feelings? Quite frankly, Trump would not want to be bothered by Canada while he is working on a much, much bigger geopolitical economic dynamic.
Go back and reference the renegotiation of the NAFTA for reference. President Trump didn’t care if Canada (Trudeau/Freeland) agreed or did not agree with the USMCA. Trump was quite willing, heck he was hoping, to just deal with Canada on a bilateral trade system.

The guy in the turban looks like Trudeau in disguise!
🤔 Hmmm… he’s been known to play dress-up and change skin color.
Recall that Carney is Trudeau’s relative.

“PEOPLE❓❓❓”
-“I ain’t people”
Living across the detroit river from windsor, ontario, I want for nothing from canada.
my whole life they have sucked off of the teat of America.
I will say this again, they cross the river to America to:
-work
-shop (groceries, household goods, clothing)
-play/recreate
-vacation
-marry
-live here six months out of the year!
-and get MEDICAL care
they have bank accounts and post office boxes here
my coworkers from canada also bash President Trump while doing the above.
they flat out admit they cannot get things in canada that they get in the States.
I say pop the popcorn, because I look forward to this.
And they pump dope nonstop into The D..
Twenty years ago I worked as a village dockmaster on an American island in the Great Lakes, just a couple of miles from the international border w/ Canada. Boaters came from all over. Some summer weekends there were 130 boats (not small ones!) tied up at our dock; people got off to go enjoy themselves in the village, rent golf carts to drive around and see the sights etc. I felt sorry for the Canadians but also annoyed at their snotty attitude towards the US. Little things, like passing off their “Looney” coin (worth about $.25 back then) as a suitable tip!
The one product that Canada makes well is beer. Well, guess what? They would load up on Molsons/LaBatt and carry it over to the US island, where it is also sold; they would stay aboard their craft and drink up before venturing into town and having to purchase it in the US. Then, sure as shooting, when it came time for the return to Provincial life on Sunday, they would gather all their empties and leave them on the dock, not bothering to go dump these into the trash-recycle bin nearby. They live to give the middle finger to US. Envy/jealousy is not a good look. Your country is pathetic.
Let us know how the Mexicans in Tijuana treat us next time you’re down on the border. For example, in 2024 Tijuana had 2,500 homicides while a hundred yards across the border San Diego had 25!
I say good riddance to those Canuk ingrates. I recently had to fly into Ontario airport and change plans to get back to the US. What a flippin nightmare that was. Not to mention we had to de-plane outside and walk to the terminal and it was like 2 degrees-
I have never met so many unfriendly snotty people in service positions in my life.
Canada has the most secure border in the world bcz the USA is on the other side.
I’m still pissed bcz they forced AA to change all its literature by taking out the word ‘inmate’ to calling them ‘persons in custody’. Thousands of dollars spent for that literature change thanks to the prisoner rights activists in Canada. uggggg
Masako Ganhana, a Japanese independent journalist who often works with Michael Yon, recently related that despite flying everywhere all the time, Canada made a simple layover a total nightmare unlike anything she’s ever experienced before.
Huh they don’t get free medical care . I’m a Canadian , when I go to the states I buy medical insurance from BCAA , because if I don’t the costs if I need medical care there is insane .
He didn’t say they got it for free, most likely they get their medical care in the US because the wait was soooo long in Canada.
He said “coworkers”. My belief is it’s a group plan through the employer.
By “coworkers”, I was simply referring to the canadians who come to the U.S. to work alongside me.
I did not mention healthcare plans, nor group plans of any kind.
I also did not state, nor imply, that canadians get ‘free’ healthcare in the U.S. (this is in response to stua’s comment).
it’s interesting though that stua speaks of coming to the States for healthcare (free or not), as it validates my point (I know of no Americans, personally, who ever needed to travel to canada to get healthcare).
I only know one person who went to the states to deal with an eye problem. I know more people who have gone to Japan for healthcare.
Plenty of Americans go to Mexico for dental care .
Wife’s bff went to MX for cancer care. Hope4Cancer or something like that. Expensive but 2 years cancer free. US oncologist called it a miracle. LOL
The biggie was eliminating sugar from her diet. They also baked her in a clamshell oven, withdrew a couple pints of blood, mixed w meds, vitamins, etc then slow drip back into her. They trained her n husband how to cook n live a sugar free life.
Ya but if they pay for it what the issue??
My point is that canadians have to leave their own country to come to the U.S. for many things, inc. healthcare (whether free or not is irrelevant); President Trump is also alluding to this.
the bigger picture is (which is getting lost in translation), if canada’s govt is so great, why do they have to rely on other countries so much.
I am a Canadian…and disgusted with ingrates in our community.
These bass turds were all for the “ clot shot” and ridiculed we that stood with the truckers.
The Canadian flag was a symbol of fascism to many of them.
I overheard a local that happens to be a dual U.S/ Canadian citizen.
He spends six months a year in Scottsdale Az.
That is easy for him to say in April.
Say that he is not going back to winter next year. ( I know the guy, he is virtue signalling)
Two folks I know with grown families are preparing to move on as a consequence of us having another communist regime in place.
One to Thailand the other just bought a condo in Dubai..crazy?
Maybe, but both are stable individuals that have done their homework.
Cheers!
Well then, use the beauty that is your socialist utopian medicine.
A President Trump supporting British Columbian supports you.
I regularly suggest all of your points to fellow Canadians.
Observing the apoplexy on their faces
is something to behold.
That said, we have many Americans living and visiting up here that trash your country, and especially your President Trump.
Cheers!
“…we have many Americans living and visiting up here that trash your country, and especially your President Trump.”
Glad to have the sickening little cowards out of here, but sorry for you, too, that they are up there.
Would you please take Neil Young and his commie wife.
I think he was a Canadian who became an American citizen, but why? To bash and criticize?
They should leave! They’re better suited to Canadian politics.
You come here Dekester. I’d consider that a good deal for both of us.
Dekester, I have been following this site for some time now.
I used to be your neighbor there living close to Microsoft campus. We loved going to Vancouver for the weekend. But of course you know how bad that got.
You also know how bad Washington has become. So we packed up and moved to Montana!
When I read your comments now I often think of how stable good people like you can still live in those areas. The northwest in the summer time is probably the most beautiful place in the world. I miss and loved Seafair days on lake Washington. I miss the old Gastown district.
I hope that both of our areas are fixed and get corruption out of there.
Cheers!
Be careful what you wish for, Silly Snow Mexicans. 🤣
I’ve posted on here b4
$100/Canadian border fee every time they cross into the US. They raid the grocery stores n clog up the US health care system. US hospitals n Doctors love them bed they pay cash, get their med prescription to fill in Canuckistan.
I concur and can’t wait to gloat over their sorrow
i had no idea Canada was such a leech on our nation. And now the leeches are complaining and want to drop off. Good luck with that
They don’t just want to “drop off” from U.S.,…they wantbto hitch a ride with the EU, LOL!
SO, unhitching from the USS Battleship, and hitching onto the Titanic,…great move youse!!
If I was Amdrican I would have voted MAGA last autumn. But since his constant interference in MY country’s affairs I voted Liberal this time. I am happy with either result tonight.
That’s the spirit!
You cannot fix stupid. Shows you how far gone Canada is. They would be a Socialist weight around our neck.
Ha! 😳
AND, this is WHY they can not become our 51st state. Canadian reasoning is off the charts WOKE! -_-
Your picture neglects to show the future Southern Territory/States.
Nope! Look at the Conmunist government they have, bulwarked by Dominion voting machines.
We are already fighting for our lives against the corrupt Uniparty and the deep state. We don’t need to give them reinforcements.
Canada does not use Voting machines and also uses Id at all polling stations. Far more difficult for fraud than USA.
Dominion Voting company is headquartered in Canada. They facilitated the steal of 2020
Left Greenland out. 🙂
A more strategic plan would be for Alberta to be 51. They have strong internal support for the idea. It that were to happen Manitoba and Saskatchewan would leave Canada. If Alberta’s union to the US as 51 worked well-they would be on deck and they might very well vote to be 52 and 53.
We do not want anything to do with British Columbia unless woke Vancouver could be carved out. Same for woke Ontario, and everything east to the Atlantic.
Calgary needs to be clipped out of Alberta, so I hear.
Appreciate your honesty.
Your country’s affairs? Did you even read the article?
Good luck. I hope you guys join the EU.
I read lots of articles and I travel a lot. Just because my opinion is not your viewpoint I am sorry. It won”t happen again.
Trump just told you how things were and your country is a leech on America. If that’s interfering then there is no hope of you or Canada. Look at the losers you guys elect. They couldn’t care less about the people of Canada. Remember the clot shot you were forced to take. They flood your country with illegals so they never lose power and your fine with that? I suppose if you’re not dead maybe some day you will wake up and see the chains you have bound yourselves with.
Trudeau owned the clot shot in Canada.
He got paid for each one.
Matthew 27
3-4 Judas, the one who betrayed him, realized that Jesus was doomed. Overcome with remorse, he gave back the thirty silver coins to the high priests, saying, “I’ve sinned. I’ve betrayed an innocent man.”
They said, “What do we care? That’s your problem!”
5 Judas threw the silver coins into the Temple and left. Then he went out and hung himself.
6-8 The high priests picked up the silver pieces, but then didn’t know what to do with them. “It wouldn’t be right to give this—a payment for murder!—as an offering in the Temple.” They decided to get rid of it by buying the “Potter’s Field” and use it as a burial place for the homeless. That’s how the field got called “Murder Meadow,” a name that has stuck to this day.
Don’t apologize for having an opinion. Honesty is good whether or not someone agrees with it.
“I hope you guys join the EU.”
Not I. It’s quite enough that we have to deal with the EU and their incompetent leadership bungling international affairs. I would just as soon not have them as next door neighbors. While not a perfect relationship, we’ve been able to peacefully coexist with our northern friends for many years in spite of the help from the crown.
Canadian here as well. You have got to be kidding? Vote liberal because you hate Trump? Canadians are so hopelessly liberal that there is no hope for this God forsaken land. I have no words for this level of insanity! We deserve all of the Liberal crushing taxes and restrictions we have coming. Unbelievable!
DD
It is sad for the people.
Dan, I get the feeling that as horrid and despotic as Trudeau was, Canada has not reached the bottom yet. From what I have known of Wormtongue Carney long ago when he was the Governor of the Bank of England, it seems the darkness is not quite through….yet.
Perhaps Canada is on the last rung before the entire population of your beautiful country…especially the Liberals who obviously are confident that if one of theirs is PM they will not suffer the consequences of their uninformed choice (Carney)…awakens to what has been done to it by successive globalists, when finally, FINALLY, the Canadian phoenix rises.
I can feel your angst, my friend.
But nothing goes on forever.
All we here can do is offer our most heartfelt prayers, powerful weapons, that the tide will turn quickly for you all.
For myself, this is what I do with a full heart.
God bless you, your beautiful family, and every Canadian patriot who one day will feel the exuberance we in America felt on November 5. We wait along side you, dear sir, for that moment which will surely come.
Take hold of this, and do not let your mustard seed escape from your grasp, as I have not.
With great respect for you always, a beloved fellow Treeper. B 🙏🏻 🇨🇦
Thanks Betsy. Canada is in a race to the bottom. May God pour out His wrath on this evil country. I don’t care if we sink to third world country status. It will have to be extremely severe before Canadians finally understand what they have done. By then the damage will be done, and I doubt salvageable. I don’t care anymore.
Thanks for understanding.
DD
Focus on the gifts which have been given to you, my friend. In past posts you have listed many. More and more I ak doing this for myself. Almighty God, the One who has blessed you with them, will not, does not, sit idle. Be assured that the Light still shines and is inextinguishable. One day the purveyors of darkness will come to know it.
In Hands be it.
As I’m certain you are aware, DD, the battle is spiritual. There are some powerful believers in Canada. Join with them and fight for your country, on your knees. God is still on the throne and He still performs miracles! Standing with you brother.
10 4!
Many of us are doing just that.
Cheers!
If they sink to the bottom, they’ll blame Trump & US.
Canada is where the U.S. would be, if not for ONE MAN.
In fact, its exactly where we WERE, when we had an illusion of choice, between Obama or Mitt, or (almost) between Hillary or Jeb.
I saw a WHOLE BUNCH of people, lining the roads at each stop, and congregating iin every large city in Canada, to show support for the Freedom Convoy, and I find it hard to believe many of them were liberals….that was like Canadas “Tea Party” moment, and now it just needs ONE MAN or Woman to STEP UP and lead the charge to sanity and common sense.
Thank you Dutchman and Betsy. We have amazing people here yes we do. The Freedom Convoy is who we are. We are poisoned with Globalism as you were before Trump set you free. There is still a huge battle ahead. God has already won. We only need to endure ourselves
I am truly sorry for you freedom loving, Canadian patriots. I hope that the pain that is going to be brought onto the Canadian people will be short and swift so that relief can be brought to them in huge measure.
If it wasn’t for PDJT then, we in the USA would be right with freedom loving Canadians.
My hope is that Carney and Friends will see the stupidity of their ways sooner than later so that we can Make America Great Again WHICH includes North Americans.
I love Canada, grew up across the Peace Bridge, and it saddens me what they have become. This is not the 1970s anymore, and I also fear for our own nation going down that path. Canada needs its own Trump. But it’s already too late 🙁
Besty you are the best!
So kind, Mistears…thank you 💕
(LOVE your avatar 😽)
🏴🏴🏴
It may be a while though, the Canadian establishment is far more unified and impenetrable than the U.S.A.
As you will be aware a federal politician here can ignore completely vast regions of the country.
They need only pander to Ontario and the Maritimes.
In fact one particular stretch of Ontario that runs through Toronto determines our P.M.
As always Cheers!
I know it will be, Dekester. Our Father still has a vote, however, and there’s just no telling when He will cast it…or how. When we least expect it I’m thinking.
But as the death of hope is the worst death, I refuse to let that happen…for myself or others.
This election, important as it is, is only a moment in the scheme of things, just as ours in 2016 was. Nine years later, here we are. That old pendulum keeps moving. (As a side thought, I wonder if the demonic globalists have now played their last card with Carney.)
Bless, my friend. You are a patriot as well 😘🇨🇦
🏴🏴🏴
Beautiful post. Betsy.
Bless, barb 😘
Amen Aunt Betsy!
I feel your pain! We have so many irrational, unrealistic emotions driven liberals that are driving our country off the cliff. Our only hope is MAGA, IMO, to get back to rational/realistic policies based on common sense.
Maybe Canada will become “ The Giant Sucking Sound” of our liberals/leftist moving to the Promised Land.
One could only hope from my perspective
Good Luck!!
MCGA
It’s the Indoctrination like California, Oregon and Washington. The environmental movement expanded into climate change and global warming hysteria. Canadians bought into the hoax big time.
I would rather vote for no one, than vote for the Communist Globalist Librats.
I went and voted for PP. Anything else, spells disaster.
I truly hope that the Librats dont win, because as you know, things are very tough in our country these days. Young family’s can barely pay the bills.
The left got us into this mess.
People like this clown above are how we got here. Imagine having the stupidity to post something like that here!
It is very sad what Canadians are voting for.
I would think the EU would welcome Canada and its many natural resources. China will too.
Cheers D.D.
My hope and it is just that. Is that Alberta can get the hell out of the monstrosity that is Canada.
Natives, Quebecers, Maritimers, Central Canadians ( Toronto and Ottawa)
Prairie folk and us in British Columbia ( Communist central)
Are centred around nothing.
Cheers, and “ Nae surrender”
Bring on the Carney carnage.
you voted liberal because Trump sent some troll tweets. which will almost certainly make your condition worse.
that does not seem like a trump problem. that seems like a Canadian intelligence problem.
Same Liberal excuse. Never would have voted for Trump because of mean tweets. They never would have anyways. It’s all a ruse.
You sound fake.
I don’t recall any howls of outrage from you or any of your countrymen when Obama openly endorsed your Liberal party in previous elections.
Check back with us in a couple years and fill us in on how things are (or aren’t) working out for ya.
Exactly
LOL
I know right.
This clown is one of the reasons our country is a total and utter mess.
Apparently this one wants more beatings. Unbelievable.
How is requiring true reciprocal tariffs including non-tariff barriers interfering in Canada’s affairs?
You seem to be saying you put your government’s status quo above your own well being…despite your government’s poor performance.
That’s what they count on while they squash the citizens and rob them of opportunity. I suppose it works out if you don’t particularly care about a better future for yourself.
Voting Liberal is putting a “kick me again” sign on your back. People like you are the reason I have long called Canada, my home, the stupidest country in the world.
If President Trump truly doesn’t care I wish he would have kept his mouth shut instead of breathing life into the Liberals who were headed for oblivion.
And, Sundance, please show me where Poilievre ever said anything like Canada “will now embrace its connections to the United Kingdon and European Union”.
While I am not happy with Poilievre’s response to the tariffs, he never said that. It is strictly Carney’s position. You don’t understand Canadian politics.
As an American I really don’t want Canada as a state. They are worse than California with their mindset or Michigan with their totalitarian government. Let them hitch a ride with whoever they want. I don’t want to pay for them.
We pay for our neighbors’ foolishness one way or another, always.
Sometimes they become too dangerous to ignore.
Your political acumen is naive or worse.
Cutting off your nose to spite your face comes to mind.
Carney, the ex Bank of England Governor. C.E.O. of Brookfield Assets that moved the business to the U.S. upon the election of President Trump.
Had three citizenships.
Irish, U.K. and Canadian.
Rumour has it he owned or owns a condo in Trump Tower.( unconfirmed)
Cheers!
Interesting.
Who holds his puppet strings these days?
Maybe not who we assume?
well thats not helpful
Makes complete sense.
In my neck of the woods we call that “cutting off your nose to spite your face”.
My guess is it happens a lot up there in Canadia.
Seems you don’t understand what Trump was trying to do.
Blocking punches with your face is your strategy?
Canada should become a territory, not a state.
.
Lets make California a US Territory again as it is a failed state.
.
Oregon is not far behind it.
A Territory then a piecemeal process of statehood for qualifying provinces.
Saying 51st State keeps it simple for those that can’t be bothered to understand how we civilized this land.
Yes. PDJT says, “51st state” is for the sake of brevity.
Brevity is the soul of whit. PDJT knows this well!!
Of salesmanship too.
This way they can refuse to be the 51st state but will settle for being a territory. PDJT leads them to clamor for what he wanted them to chose anyway.
The Oregon governor and Portland mayor are as bad as the Colorado governor and Denver mayor, and they’re not the only examples of horrible-ness.
Interesting approach…
It is not failed state. It is an incapacitated state. The globalist cruelly destroyed their industrial base, created a lesser people with welfare and pernicious narratives. Their leaders did not fail Canada. Their leaders impaired Canada.
Wake up and rise, Canada!
The reason that the Canadian powers did not mind Obama interfering, but, object to Trump is that they are trying to build a one world government with Canada, Western Europe and USA as the nucleus. With the election of Trump, they will now lean on China and Canada is hastened towards Gimp Britain and the EU.
Who are ‘they’? The intelligence services, the true power behind the facade of democracy.
Our IC owns Canada. Castro’s boy was installed despite a million devastatingly embarrassing reasons to end his candidacy in seconds.
Canada has already lost its sovereignty as evidence of Carney in power. I wish I could say otherwise, but, they are way past long gone.
WEF is a suicide pact for the West on behalf of China.
Run by The City.
It is Britain’s IC that runs Canada.
Topple the Crown

I just can’t get over Carney swearing in
ceremony. He swears fealty to Prince
Charles, his heirs and successors.
Keep secrets….blah …blah..bla…
Not to uphold the Canadian Constitution,
the will of the Canadian people….🤷♀️💁♀️
Very Strange…🙃🙃
2:32 minutes….video of swearing in.
Mark Carney sworn in as prime minister – YouTube
A little help.
There are 15 Commonwealth REALM countries.
All have the British monarch (King Charles) as Head of State.
All have Prime Ministers that ultimately answer to the King and are only Heads of Government (ie a COO who answers to a CEO analogy).
All REALM countries (except the UK) have a Governor-General (Vice Roy) who hold ultimate power (Royal Assent and power to remove the Prime Minister and/or dissolve their respective parliaments). UK is directly under King without a ‘vice roy.’
All Prime Ministers of the REALM countries as well as their military members take Oaths of Office to the Monarch and not to the constitutions of their respective countries.
All ‘citizens’ of REALM countries are ‘subjects’ of the Crown.
Research and reconcile.
💔
If Canada is a realm of the Commonwealth ultimately subject to the King of England then what’s the big deal about being the 51st state? Its just changing one dependency for another. “Proud, independent Canada” doesn’t exist.
I posted this on the PT this morning.
Sums Carney up completely.
His bespoke sheep’s clothing comes from across the pond.

The intel agencies are just the hired guns, its the financiers calling the shots, hence the city.

It is time to declare the full imposition of a renewed Monroe Doctrine.
No EU, no UK influence allowed in North America.
Period.
Absolument!

From British Columbia
Sad Saps are trying to blame PDJT for Polly Ver not winning.
Too funny.
Topple the Crown
Free the World
You are correct in saying this.
.
It is not well know but the British Crown actually owns vast area and lands in Canada.
90%
No the British Crown does not own vast amounts of land in Canada , total bs
that the snow mexicans would vote Carney because trump was snarky suggests a lot more about Canadians’ intelligence than it does about Trump.
I’ve seen more citation of feelings as determinative in this episode than any other geopolitical event we’ve witnessed here at CTH.
Sad Saps easily melt apparently.
We really didn’t have to throw Trudeau 2.0 a life line and then pull him across the finish line first, either!
Pierre Poilievre was leading by double digits until the 51st State rhetoric started and Carney pulled ahead. Carney is the Anti-Trump in Canada and his popularity soared. Unfortunately, President Trump guaranteed that Max Carnage a/k/a Mr WEF, Mr Climate Change, Mr DEI will win today.
PDJT could have said anything, or nothing, and Marx Carnage would still have been installed to protect the Crown’s interests.
And besides, PP is Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan.
Are you really going to disparage PDJT for saying something that might have kept that asshat out as premier, and so helped Canada dodge a bullet?
So long as you see PP as a “lesser of two weavils” you are doomed.
Aha! P.O.B. reference
Agreed!
President Trump of course knew this.
Cheers!
👊
💪😉
Poillievre and Carney had the same snark about the 51st state comments. Why didn’t Pierre’s numbers go up?
If a leader of a foreign country was trolling America regarding making it their region, or province, or whatever before an American election, Americans would find it amusing or annoying, but no one would vote for the candidate shaking his fist the hardest at the troll, they’d vote for whomever they thought was going to do the best for themselves and their country. If Canadians are actually voting based on who’s gonna get Trump above anything else, then they are the ones at fault.
Max Bernier leader of the Peoples Party of Canada. a smaller party.
Take The Power Back Canada!
Retired Magistrate here: How blessed we are to have President Trump who relies on his business accume to guide the United States to a brighter future as opposed to most leaders who rely on “feelings” and emotions to guide their nations to a downward spiral.
That takes me back to PDJT’s first campaign when George Stephanopolous (I don’t care how its spelled) snarked that candidate Trump is onstage for the RINO debate against “19 professional politicians” implying that they were going to wipe the floor with him and his stupid business pedigree.
I think it’s spelled: Snuffleupagus
George Stepnfetchitous
And grift and power, unlike PDJT. Sad! Stain on Canada. I recall dear Gordan Sinclair!
Or they invest in cryptocurrency instead of a physical currency.
Countries go bankrupt slowly and then quickly. They Dollar is not immune.
Nor is The City.
There are moves away from LIBOR, that could effectively do much to defenestrate the City, eh?
Just need a courageous genius to give them the right nudge.
I think US and Canadian citizens should be brutally honest about our differences with one another, but burn no bridges.
As I became aware of the Canadians’ smug attitudes towards the USA, I simply stopped buying anything Canadian.
So far, it’s maple syrup, and oatmeal and cheeses. I read all labels.
Sirius suddenly added Canada Talks to my car radio. It is eye opening. They all have NPR voices and look down on their own “prairie provinces.”
I don’t think we want Canada as our 51st state, let’s just take Alberta and Northwest Territories, Yukon Territory and Nunavut. Saskatchewan and Manitoba if they want it.
Ontario and Quebec can go back to the Crown. British Columbia is already part of China, isn’t it?
I don’t wish them any ill.
Yet.
That may change if their politicians continue to run their faces.
But I honestly want nothing to do with Canada.
And I surely do not want them to become a state.
I dropped Sirius when my favorite Canadian folk music stations had the “Urban” format imposed on them.
Social DeEngineering cRap.
In 1973, we drove the Alcan Highway in February, so we were highly motivated to find motels in the Yukon cold. One night, we had to listen to a lecture from the innkeeper as to how we had no right to call ourselves Americans because Canada was in North America, too. We were we were informed, “United Statesians”. So be careful before you sign on to the Yukon. They don’t like us much either. Envy eats people from the inside out.
Make Vermont Maple Syrup great again.
Some provinces such as Alberta might make a good fit.
Let’s see where we are this time, next year… after Albertans see ‘how well’ they’re treated by Ottawa.
Trump should send Poilivere a fruit basket
why? Pierre delecto lite has been running against Trump, as well, which is why he is not going to win. he could have pitched himself as the guy that would get a deal with Trump so Canada could remain its own entity.
screw him and the uniparty horse he rode in on.
Umkay
Whatever
A big disappointment. He seemed so promising. But then so did Mitt Romney until we got to know him.
MB, another area where we agree…
Trump/MAGA has created a WIN/WIN for America!
As Trump states I don’t care what Canada does, and he means it!
If Canada aligns with WEP (EU/Brits) … they will be screwed very shortly.
I wonder what happens after Canada’s election? Should be fun to watch Trump’s ART of the Deal. And us regular MAGA have no clue what Trump will do, and that’s fine with me. The less MAGA knows Trump’s action the better.
Keep close to GOD (Trump Team). And Enjoy the Show! 🙂
Most of Canada will celebrate Carney’s win tonight because they “stuck it” to the Bad Orange Man.
It reminds me of the Far Side cartoon where the dog has its head hanging out of the car window and says to the neighbor dog sitting in the yard, “Ha ha. I get to go to the vet and get tutored!”
Parfait!
That is one of my all time favorites from “The Far Side”.
Thanks for the laugh!
And so apro po to the situation, as they will be emasculating Canada.
They will celebrate tonite, and wake up tomorrow and in days to come, regretting their decision like a bad hang over.
Wasn’t that a great cartoon? I mention it often.
Canada is nothing without MAGA. Canada will collapse. Then being our 51st state will look very very good to the puck lovers.
You notice none of these people are speaking to national security?
Regrettably, we do have a vested interest in this.
No more NORAD
Not a good idea, but sure!
In my pretty humble opinion,
When it comes to defense,
Canada 🇨🇦 cannot do without US.
Can we do workarounds regarding radar coverage, sonar coverage?
Probably – especially if we become closer to Greenland 🇬🇱
Not easy.
But not impossible.
But the EU is Not capable of coming to Canada’s defense.
My goodness – none of them have an air force or navy worth mentioning for force projection.
His Majesty’s Navy 🇬🇧 is now a glorified coast guard (with an aircraft carrier and a few subs).
France? 🇫🇷
Italy? 🇮🇹
Germany? 🇩🇪
Hahaha 🤪
Sundance, you wrote “The Canadian Mitt Romney “conservative”, Mark Carney’s closest competitor, Pierre Poilievre, is also very upset at President Trump.” I resent this comparison: I have lived through now Senator Romney as my Governor and I can firmly affirm that he has no sense of humor unlike the Canadian and, furthermore, neither M. Poilievre has even attempted to eliminate or destroy whatever is left of the Massachusetts Republican Party after Romney’s disastrous “leadership” of the same.
Agree 100%
Huge Sundance fan…
Disagree on this one
Didn’t fall in line with PDJT so he is Romney?
Easy punch line
Hardly valid
Do believe the GOAT PDJT is right on Canadian/USA economic assessment…
When is he wrong?
Pierre has been clear eyed since he entered Parliament…lost the bowtie and went to work
Earned my vote
Mitt was lining Mitt’s pockets from minute one…
A soul sucking venture capitalist
They are not the same
Reality is Trudeau and his handlers embarrassed us on the world stage, destroyed our cultural identity, economic future and national pride
51st state
Maybe, maybe not?
I don’t care…
Definitely see the attraction 🙂
I recall during the Freedom Convoy, when PP was at the top of the Conservative party, the Truckers were asked if there was anyone in Govt., for instance in the Conservative party, and they said no.
I watched 5min. of PP, and concluded he was a Uniparty hack, a Trey Goudy all about scoring points, and not scoring goals, all sound and fury signifying NOTHING.
Canada votes in pivotal election transformed by Trump
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5ylzkzxkndo
Canadians will cast their ballots on Monday in a pivotal election that has been completely transformed by US President Donald Trump.
The Conservatives appeared certain to win any contest by a landslide at the start of the year, until Trump’s tariffs and barbs about making Canada the “51st state” upended the country’s politics and injected fresh life into Mark Carney’s Liberal Party.
Delirious spin.
Everything is Trump’s fault.///
Why don’t Canadians rally behind “Conservative” Pierre CanaDelecto and stick it to the Bad Orange Man? Pierre snarked about Trump’s 51st State comments. That should have brought together “conservative” Canadians and lefty Canadians.
i do believe TRUMP really doesn’t care anymore what the MSM of any of these CORRUPT MSM companies says anymore. (because he can sue them for Billions if they defame him or team). 🙂
TRUMP has proven again and again and again how DEEP STATE , WEP, pharma, military complex LIE! And most Reps and Dem’s are corrupt and form uniparty that engage in fraud , sex crap and other assorted crap.
How about you guys, will you EVER believe the MSM crap again. MSM has already called TRUMP every name in the book, for years and years. And Trump keeps going up in the polls. 🙂
How does this work? Trudeau is the one who said Canada couldn’t survive without the unequal trade arrangement with the US. You’d think Canadians would be looking for a way to Make Canada Great Again…not sit down like a mule with the same old policies and refuse to go forward.
I don’t get it.
Life into a party that will deal a death blow to Canada’s future.
“Captives of Canada” — lol! How appropriate. What the WEF did to Canada is pretty horrific, but they’ve done that to lotsa formerly free countries.
They’ve been weaponizing our neighbors against us.
The hardest nut to crack, we are naturally slated to fall last.
Canada is not a nation, It is an international crime scene.
You have never been to Haiti, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil or Jamaica have you?
Our criminals here are just a bit more sophisticated.
Check out the sale of the Expo 1986 land sale to a H.K. Based mainland China owned
Consortium.
It truly was an astonishing deal.
Our politicians were all given “ Brown Envelopes” ( cash) to slip the deal through.
Check out why we don’t have an Oil and Gas Pipeline running from the West ( Alberta and Saskatchewan) to the east.
The “ crime families” in eastern Canada don’t want it. As their refineries may be impacted.
The oil and gas goes south through the U.S. before traveling north via a pipeline.
A Canadian pipeline company that we have a small ( very) position in saw the writing on the wall prior to President Trumps re-election and purchased U.S. Pipeline cheap as the the U.S.leaders were pushing eliminating natural gas stoves etc 😂😂😂
The stock is well up, and the dividend is very healthy.
Cheers!
Are those in Canada? Maybe revisit the topic. Whattaboutism is useless.
Canada is already a member of the British Commonwealth. Let it cling to that conglomeration, led by an all-but-dead UK.
It was made such to suppress Canadian potential and ambition and to restrain our expansion and joining Russia across the strait.
We need to cut the New Silk Noose and build the Reorient Express.
Hmmm, they SAY they are severing ties with the U.S., and strengthening ties with the EU to fill in the gap, but they are a member of the Britush commonwealth, which severed ties with the EU, they called it Brexit…
And, its REAL, cause PDJT can make a trade deal with Britain, seperate from the EU.
And while they have not said who the first 18 countries are that they are about to finalise deals with, rest assured the EU isn’t one.
Hitch your dingie to a sinking ship, oh Canada!
If Canada’s Liberal Party wins the election, they owe President Trump a very nice thank you card … … at the very least.
Give it six months, I don’t think there will be much thanking.
The CBC is not allowed to speak the economics of trade and tariff outcomes to the Canadian people. Or any other non-liberal idea for that matter. Oh Canada!
So how is that different from NPR and all the other alphabets?
True…in fact in their charter they cannot speak I’ll of the government ( if Liberal I guess)
They are given 1.5 Billion a year in subsidies. 😟
Why would they?
I’m still scratching my head on how Canada a country with 40 million people is supposed to buy and consume an equal amount of “things” from the United States with a population nearly ten times larger especially when 50% of Canadian exports to the United States are oil, natural gas and lumber.
Every Canadian would have use ten times the “things” whether it’s beef, eggs, dairy, cars, computers and whatever as every American. It’s not mathematically possible.
As billionaire hedge fund CEO and mega financial supporter of President Trump’s election pointed out recently…
“We will forever have a trade deficit with Madagascar.”
So, you’re argument is that trade is already free flowing and balanced? How many Canadians have accounts at BofA or use Verizon cell service?
Excluding oil which we have built pipelines into Canada we have a trade SURPLUS with Canada…
Goods Exports:
U.S. goods exports to Canada in 2024 were $349.4 billion, down 1.4% from 2023.
Goods Imports:
U.S. goods imports from Canada in 2024 totaled $412.7 billion, down 1.4% from 2023.
Deficit:
This resulted in a goods trade deficit of $63.3 billion.
Services Trade:
The U.S. services trade with Canada in 2023 had a surplus of $31.7 billion.
Oil’s Impact:
The U.S. imports significant amounts of oil from Canada, which contributes to the goods trade deficit. However, excluding oil, the U.S. has a trade surplus with Canada.
Please explain the situation with Verizon, BofA, or NBC. Why don’t these major US businesses have operations in Canada?
We don’t have CBC, BBC or Telephonas De Mexico here either. There are reasons why regulated and licensed businesses tend to stay in their own country.
LOL. Wrong again. USA didn’t build those pipelines. TC Energy and Enbridge built them. Both Canadian companies.
Any discussion of trade surpluses / deficits is secondary to trade policy. For instance, Canada has some extreme tariffs on dairy products above certain thresholds, effectively an embargo.
I’m thinking you have no idea the implications of a trade deficit vs terrible trade relationships. You keep pushing this point and it’s still just as meaningless, but you go.
Exactly. Also alot of the resources Canada exports to the USA, Canada then imports those resources from the USA at an increased
Price .
Exactly! Oil is 1/3 of Canadian exports to the United States which they sell us for $45 a barrel not $65. The Canadian oil is then used by American industry to make chemicals and plastics that we export to the EU at a profit.
President Trump is really not being fair or accurate in his depiction of our trade relationship with Canada and he should be.
Canadian oil sells at a discount because it is of relatively poor quality (they call it Tar Sand for a reason) and there is only one customer. Had they finished the pipeline west to the Pacific, there might be some competition on price.
I’ve told CA Joe this before, yet he, Just. Doesn’t . Get. It. Even the crap that Canada blends to meet USA gas refinery requirements doesn’t cut it. Still sells for less.
That discount rate also includes the costs to transport that bitumen heavy mix to a refinery that can process it. The farther away it is, the higher the transport cost. Other potential customers will not pay more for Canadian heavy crude if they can source similar closer to them for less.
China (and other countries) ships millions of containers into Vancouver BC. Canada trucks these containers into the US as Canadian exports. I-5 was until the tariffs a constant flow of BC trucks. Now, not so much.
Tell us you have zero understanding of trade, without, well you know the rest..
😂
the fact poilievre perpetuates the myth of fair elections speaks volumes of how stupid and/or wef owned he is
duhminion, and duhminion alone, will be deciding the outcome of this farcical process
Well, they hand count ballots.
But, the precincts use machines to send the tally’s in.
it’s who counts the votes that matters most
fair elections in the us and canada left the building long ago
btw, duhminion is headquartered in cn and sorros occupies office space in the same building
small world
Wtf what does dominion have to do with the election ??? There is no electronic voting machines, its hand counted paper ballots.
Check BobofThe North above.
I thought Canada was still part of the United Kingdom – which left the European Union. How can a British protectorate become a member of a European oligarchy without the approval of the British king?
Blathering chest-pumping politicians have turned the entire concept of being representative of the people of their nation into a joke – in all nations that call themselves democracies.
Had hoped the Canadian Trump/Farage/McGregor/Le Pen/AfD would have found their voice by now. Good luck up there.
Who are the bros? Never mind. I don’t care.
How many senators are congress people would they add to our legislature? They’re all lefties. It would be like buying a giant California Do we really want that? Do we want that kind of state added to our union.
No, we do NOT want Canada as a 51st state. The people are entitled asses. Perhaps we could take the land mass, send Central American immigrants there to work the mines and oil wells for good pay as new legal American immigrants on their way to citizenship, and ship the Canadians to England and France? Hey, they say they WANT to be European. Give them the chance.
Im Canadian.
No one is associate with or any of my family is what you describe.
We all work hard, do what we can, and hate the left.
Why would you lump us all in as the same?
That’s pretty disrespectful.
So there are no whiny entitled asses in America? You serious right now?
sigh
Apparently Canadians don’t have a sense of humor either.
Well, in this day and age, you can take it to the bank, that many of us normal, hard working, Trump loving, Conservative Canadians, are fed up with being hammered on, and included in these insults that are thrown in Canada’s direction, from all corners.
This stuff stopped being funny a long time ago.
My apologies.
The entire left, can shove all this BS straight up their arses. We are a captive population, in an abusive relationship with our Globalist Communist rulers.
The normal people out here, are angry. We have had enough of the nonsense. We only wish, those of us on the right, that we had a PDJT.
Most of us here, get it…hang in there….
And about those ‘abusers’…
…be they political or domestic and nationality does not matter…they use the same tactics to control of their victim….intimidation/fear inducement, financial, surveillance and isolation.
I am told that my sense of humour is not too bad.
Maybe it was your delivery.😉
Cheers!
Hi BB. Allow me to apologize for the above comment. Rest assured, most posters here know the difference between real Canadians and the Ontario and Quebec lefty nimrods.
Can you imagine Justin Trudeau and Chrystina Freeland as our two new elected UNITED STATES SENATORS from the State of Canada?
LOL. Be careful what you wish for!
Canadian here…sure.
One that is looking at Blaine harbour Washington as I plonk away.
We have many American citizens here, we rented a house to an American couple for many years, he works at a local hospital two blocks from the house.
A couple from Arizona own a cottage on Vancouver Island three up from ours.
They come up for the summer, and have done for decades.
Both couples are anti President Trump.
Our parking lots have Washington State plates galore.
The strong U.S. dollar and the over the prescription drugs in the U.S. that can be obtained here without a prescription are extremely popular.
Newsome Pelosi Schumer, Schiff, A.O.C.
Jeffries etc
May be running your country in a couple of years..don’t get too cocky.
President Trump is a one off phenomenon…
Hopefully it is enough, but the forces of darkness are powerful.
Cheers!
My generation, the boomers, the original hippies, and Pierre Trudeau fans (”stepfather” of Justin, whose real dad might be the guy he looks like, Fidel Castro) (remember Trudeau Mania 1967-8, borrowed from Beatlemania), will just have to die off before the woke virus dies off here.I’m in Toronto and my one-bedroom rents for $3000/month.Toronto and Montreal always vote Liberal. The Liberals imported enough 3rd world immigrants to win most elections, and they have been fans of multiculturalism since the late 60’s.Toronto is minority white European now.The Liberals have talked about taxing the inflated appreciation of house prices. That might drive a stake through the heart of the infected.House and rent prices have about doubled in the last 9 year,Federal government employees have increased by 40 % .Population has increased by about 5 million, most are 3rd world immigrants, like the guy with the head wrap. The EU and UK are circling the toilet bowl,Canadian political class wants to join them.Carney is a WEF cult member, his businesses are registered in Bermuda and the Isle of Man,cus he doesn’t want to pay taxes in Canada. There’s more, but I’m with Trump’s sentiments on this place. We do have MAiDs which is a government-sponsored program that they push. Its Medical Assistance in Dying. They paralyze you,no IV liquids etc and you drown with fluid accumulation in your lungs.I plan to live a long time so I can collect that government pension.
The libs have completely and utterly gutted and ruined our country.
The amount of immigration has damaged our heritage. We are now minority’s in our own country. Most of the immigrants are from East India. Dang near all of them are from there. Quite a few Africans too.
My City I live in, 3 hours North from you, looks like a whole province of India has moved in. They own every single gas station, every single corner store, and most of the shops in our 2 malls, and our rarely used Transit, is now full to the brim, every seat taken by East Indians. This is a city of 52,000, who’s population sign hasn’t changed in 40 years or more. Housing is next to impossible if you want to rent, you cant find anything, and there are 5 to 10 or more of them living in 2 bedroom apartments. We have a College and University here, , and the vast majority of them are East Indians as well. The homegrown , born and bred student population, is almost non existent. The rents are pretty much the same as Toronto up here now. There are way more than 52,000 here for sure. You walk along our beautiful waterfront, you are lucky to see anyone white, or even Native, like myself.
The libs have totally obliterated our citizens, with overwhelming immigration. And the ones who are here on Student Visa’s, dont leave. They just ignore the rules, and stay. Finding a job is also tough for our young people. Many of my friends kids have left this city, because they cant find a decent paying job, they are all taken by immigrants. Even the low paying jobs are mostly immigrants too.
Im just thankful I own my own home, and I dont have to worry about the bills. Not to mention, I might not live much longer, to see all of this collapse happen at its end stages.
The left, worldwide, is on a suicide mission, to make sure we are all under the thumb of the globalist scum. It is all intentional, and it is sickening to see how they have infected peoples brains.
My maternal Grandfather, a native of Ireland, spent 3+ years in the Canadian Army, much of it in the trenches of WW1 France.
After the Great War, he became an American 🇺🇸 citizen.
His son served in the US Navy.
I wonder what he would think of today’s Canada 🍁.
California and Canada both have “Kill the Old Folks” laws and roughly the same population. But Canada has murdered 10 times as many victims, @ 75, 000.
This is the WEF Genocide Program to kill white Canadians and replace them.
Child Trafficking. Fentanyl Trafficking. Occupying Chinese Troops. Terrorist Havens. Murdering Old People. Vaxxing the Young.
Canada is a Criminal Nation and it will be cleansed and delivered, to the Glory of God!
Psalm 89
12 You created north and south! Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon rejoice to be signed by your name as their maker! 13 Strong is your arm! Strong is your hand! Your right hand is lifted high in glorious strength.
14-15 Your throne is founded on two strong pillars—the one is Justice and the other Righteousness. Mercy and Truth walk before you as your attendants. Blessed are those who hear the joyful blast of the trumpet, for they shall walk in the light of your presence.
Great and accurate post!
Cheers!
“Carney says the economic and military ties between the USA and Canada are officially declared severed.”
Canada couldn’t survive one day without the US military.
Fortunately for them, no one wants Canada, badly enough to attack them.
China might want Canada. Think of how advantageous their location spanning the entire northern border of the US would be.
That’s why they are already there.
Good luck with that.
That would be very bad luck for the entire world. China already has a presence in Canada. That wouldn’t be entirely impossible.
At one time, Canada had a credible military.
I don’t know if it still does.
It is “interesting” that President Trump wants to make Canada the 51st state when at least several of the current 50 states have de facto seceded from the union with their sanctuary for invaders declarations and policies.
I must say…
You are at least one of the more persistent ones.
You take Purposely and Obscenely Obtuse to a whole new level.
They must have upped the pay. 🤣
We actually don’t want them as another
state – because they will be liberal as California !
How many Senators would they end up with ? It far too vast a land mass to be only two. How many congressmen ?
The fact is, Canada (not the people per se) should be economically ground into the earth under the US boot heel, until the government either Begs – unconditionally – to become part of this country, OR until they grow some Stones and rebuild their industry and military – On Their Own !
Let Canada stay as it is. Liberals hate too much of our Constitution to entrust inviting a nation full of them in. Also, I have been opposed to the North America Union, it’s a NWO wet dream, allowing Canada to become the 51st state brings us one step closer to the NAU. Using the European Union as an example of how it would end up, leave Canada as it is.
On the assumption that the Administration would rather work with Poilievre that put up with Carney, I think that Trump continuing to troll Canada about being the 51st State is very counter-productive.
Just sayin…….
Why? He made clear that we’re ambivalent. Both are hostile to us.
Something I found on X about the betting odds
Sortor may be missing the target. Poilievre was at the top when the issues before the voters were the high cost of living, unaffordable housing and immigration. (Some Americans may not realize that affordable housing is outrageously out of reach for almost all Canadians, especially younger ones, and not just in the big cities. IMO the cost of housing could have been the ONLY issue and could have swayed this election.
But the issues changed to one of sovereignty and national pride. After living seven decades and in voting in more elections than I can remember, this election has taught me one thing: issues do matter more than we think, especially when those issues involve national pride and sovereignty. Reason and economics goes out the window.
Shhh. It’s because of PDJT’s comments. PP response has nothing to do with it.
In fact, if our president can entirely change their elections, the Real Canadians should pop smoke and un-ass the AO immediately.
I speak French.
I look at the X Cable News accounts and read the comments.
More than 60% – if not 70% – of Quebecers realize the benefits and want to join as the 51st state. The subject matter is taboo but we see it in the comments.
I have promoted the idea, and people have started thinking. From negative to neutral to positive.
The Bloc Québécois will win the Quebec election and will be the Kingmaker. The Bloc is for separation from Canada. I listened to its leader Blanchette speak yesterday. He doesn’t affiliate with Canada as a nation but rather Quebec as a culture to be preserved. Subtle signals that he is open to the idea of joining the great USA.
Yep, my wife and one of our D.I.L are fluent French speakers.
One of the Quebec leaders stated that Canada is not a country.
I paraphrase ( but he said it was a hodge podge is special interests with no identity.
I think that Quebec, with its unique history, language, and culture, would best be served going its own way.
They could make a go of it as an independent nation – which has been the dream of many Québécois since the ‘60s.
When they swooned over French President Charles DeGaulle.
Aligning themselves with English-speakers has not been a rousing success… since the loss of New France in 1763.
250+ years is a long-enough experiment in bilingual government and society.
Let the dream come true.
looks like a police lineup
In late 2024 the issues most concerning for Canadians were the high cost of living and unaffordable housing. On top of that there was a dramatic surge in public opinion that the level of immigration was too high. For the first time in a quarter century, a clear majority of Canadians said there was too much immigration.
A majority of the blame was directed at the Liberals, even from Canadians who typically vote Liberal. They even turned on their beloved Justin Trudeau and gave him the boot.
But tonight this election will likely be decided not on any of those issues, but on another. This can’t be an accident.
yea, good luck with the EU lol
“…Canada, as a free independent and sovereign nation, will now embrace its connections to the United Kingdom and European Union…”
What an oxymoronic statement. You cannot be free and independent while sucking off the teat of any other country, and especially not one whose king is sovereign over you.
“… and seek to replace their national dependency on the United States…” by replacing their national dependency on the king’s teat.
Concerning the 51st state thing, do we really want 30,000,000 Canadians impacting our national elections?
We don’t want the bills their socialist looniness has created.
First one looks like a Bush, third one could pass for Starmer brother, and the last looks somewhat like Obama. Number two has a pleasant smile but, personally, there’s enough liberal states in our union.
The last thing America needs is more liberals . Enough of this 51st State nonsense , the fact is Canada’s doomed just like the UK , Germany and all other countries that open their borders to Islam.
The U.S needs to start working on a way to rid the Islam problem we currently have because it’s 100% incompatible with western society .
Not a state, a territory. I don’t want them to have voting seats in the Senate or the House.
just spitballing here because i love Canada, and the heritage Canadian people.
i favor the 51st state proposal.
think of the agricultural gains from the enormous prairie lands,
the timber, the fish and seafood industry,
the natural resource potential such as minerals and oil,
and (if you like that sort of thing 😂) Crown Royal.
with absolutely no offense to our dear Canadian posters,
Canada isn’t really a country anyway –
it’s a collection of wildly disparate provinces with no cohesion
(tell me the commonalities between B.C. and Quebec?)
that could be united for every Canadian citizen’s good under the auspices of the U.S.
we can offer more freedom than they have ever been “permitted”,
better health care, and a functional – in fact a soon to be booming – economy.
oh, and liquor stores that aren’t run by the government.
would they be a giant California?
i tend to think not if sufficient incentive were given to avoid that outcome,
such as small business incentives, reduction in taxes across the board, etc.
like a historic mansion,
it’s just so darn beautiful it deserves rehab, not demolition.
You folks understand that when we fight each other the globalists win. This is exactly what they want and how they maintain their position as top leech off our work and txes. Stop fighting each other and direct your anger at the globalist scum!
I met a nice Canadian couple at Longboat Key just after Bidumb was “elected”. They could not understand how that had happened and in their own way, kinda blamed us Americans for not stepping up. Yes, us Americans are to blame, but many things happened as we all know. I think back and wonder where this couple is and who they are blaming now!
If we accept that President Trump is going to take on (take down) the globalist cabal, then he has to take down the EU and UK. If Canada joins them then they become a portal through which Trump can exert pressure. Unfortunately Canadians have forgotten one of the primary rules of geopolitics — you cannot change who your neighbors are.
