Virginia Giuffre (41) has killed herself.
(VIA NBC) – Virginia Giuffre, one of the most prominent survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sexual abuse, has died by suicide, her family said Friday.
Giuffre, 41, died in Neergabby, Australia, where she had been living for several years.
Giuffre was one of the earliest and loudest voices calling for criminal charges against Epstein and his enablers. Other Epstein abuse survivors later credited her with giving them the courage to speak out.
She also provided critical information to law enforcement that contributed to the investigation into and later the conviction of Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, as well as other investigations by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
“It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia,” her family said in a statement to NBC News. “She lost her life to suicide, after being a lifelong victim of sexual abuse and sex trafficking.”
“Virginia was a fierce warrior in the fight against sexual abuse and sex trafficking. She was the light that lifted so many survivors,” the statement said. “In the end, the toll of abuse is so heavy that it became unbearable for Virginia to handle its weight.”
Raised primarily in Florida, Giuffre had a troubled childhood. She said she was abused by a family friend, triggering a downward spiral that led to her living on the streets for a time as a teenager.
She was attempting to rebuild her life when she met Maxwell, Epstein’s close confidant. Maxwell groomed her to be sexually abused by Epstein, and that abuse continued from 1999 to 2002, according to Giuffre. Giuffre also alleged that Epstein trafficked her to his powerful friends, including Prince Andrew and French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel. (read more)

For those who haven’t been following, a loaded school bus hit her car on March 24th while she was in what is described as rural Australia. Reported injuries at the scene were minor, but she later checked into a hospital. From her hospital bed she claimed to have suffered terminal kidney injuries and had only four days to live (which turned out to not be true). She also posted a selfie showing her injuries.
The extent of those injuries and the nature of the crash were disputed. Clearly she did not have terminal kidney damage and four days to live, which suggests her mental state was not stable. I find it interesting a victim of childhood sexual abuse was hit by a school bus, and perhaps a victim of childhood sexual abuse might attempt suicide via getting hit by a school bus. “Rural Australia” seems like an unlikely place to try and kill someone, and trying to kill someone with a bus full of children seems like an unlikely way to do so. But as with all things Epstein, you cannot assume anything is what it seems.
Now, exactly a month after the bus incident, she has reportedly committed suicide. I am curious to know if March 24th was an important date in her suffering, or if something within the last few months has sent her mental health into a spiral. (The bungled Bondi release happened at the end of February). Again, such speculation does not rule out alternative theories as to what has happened.
Regardless, a sad and tragic chapter in a story that has not ended. She had three children who will now be dealing with this trauma for the remainder of their lives.

She claimed the bus was traveling 110 kph. The bus driver claimed the speed was half that, with the damage and injuries reported to be consistent with the lower speed.
It should be noted that she was not the driver, which I was not aware of until now. Therefore any speculation about a suicide attempt, such as mine above, is off base and should be discarded. It also calls into question the extent of the driver’s injuries and what they might suggest about her own claims to the significance of her injuries.
As noted, it is difficult and unwise to accept any reporting around an Esptein-related death at face value. However, I would imagine getting hit by a bus going 110 kph would result in more serious injuries than Giuffre’s own photos showed- unless she was also in a very large and heavy vehicle. Given that she claimed to have terminal injuries she did not have and would have known she did not have, in this instance her reliability as a witness is questionable.
I read an article that said she was going through a divorce and bitter child custody battle.She was separated from her children and was devastated, allegedly.
