My neighbor Steve’s beagle, Cooper, has his own large litter box in the barn. He pees in it, or at least tries to, sometime his aim isn’t so good.
My newbie was trained to the litter box.

Good morning nimrodman. There is nothing better than good sardines in olive oil. They make a great high protein snack. I’m one of these people that has been blessed with a high metabolism and on a normal day will eat six times rather than three, so sardines make a good in-between snack for me.

The BEST sardines are fresh ones, grilled IN Portugal, with fresh local butter, bread and a cold glass of vino verde.
My better half learned to love sardines as a young girl since she often visited with her maternal grandmother, who, along with her husband, operated a bar/restaurant in Baltimore by the harbor. Grandma Maria, a naturalized immigrant from Cantabria, Spain (northern coast), often snacked on sardines (always in olive oil), Saltines, and real European bleu cheese. Quite a fragrant combo….
For many years my betrothed enjoyed that same snack while watching TV; eventually I joined her and learned to like it as well.
For some reason ( 🤣 🤣 ) our cats always came out from wherever they had been hiding or resting when we started munching on that snack……….
And yes, we both LOVE anchovies on our pizzas and in some salads (along with real chunks of blue cheese). The local pizza shops are always surprised when we order “double anchovies”, saying that we are one of only a few customers who always ask for extra salty fish as one of our toppings. And that’s because we aways peel off a few and treat the felines…..

I was in the hills of Honduras one time as a geologic field assistant, inspecting potential silver deposits on muleback, and they were growing coffee in those hills.
They had coffee beans drying in the sun on front concrete porches of their domiciles, and served us black roast coffee in the morning with eggs and thick corn tortillas, butter the strength of mild cheese, and cheese the strength of much sharper. The corn masa for the tortillas they’d roll out on a volcanic pumice-stone roller board with a pumice rolling pin, and they’d make the tortillas soft and thick, not the flat card-stock-thick ones we get in American supermarkets.
They also had a clear, distilled sugarcane liquor kinda like white lightning. I only had a couple sips but our Honduran assistants — two portly city guys who were our cultural emissaries to the mountain folk — took much more interest in it as we bounced around in our 4WD Chevy blazer and they got pretty lit by afternoon. They’d talk to the local chiefs in town when we’d first pull in and they’d arrange mules for us and grease a family to feed and bed us down for the night.

Coffee south of the border always tends to be much stronger. Like it a lot when I’m there. Search a little bit and you can find it served here.

Sometimes I use the search engine called Swisscows to find Icons online and other materials. Sometimes I use Pinterest to search for items. I have a large physical library of printed books with excellent photos in those, too, but seldom use them for here. I have met several Iconographers and do not post their works.
This one was from Pinterest and is from the page of Aleksandar Radevski. It is from the Holy Monastery of Saint Paul the Apostle on Mount Athos in Greece. Today was the first time to upload that one here.
I am grateful to have had examples of discerning and wise teachers in the Church. One used to say “imitate don’t innovate” in matters of the Faith.

I had the pleasure of visiting St. Francis of Assisi’s cave and the Benedictine Monk’s Monastery in Italy in the 80’s. A bit of trivia – a form of what is now the American Sign Language originated with the Benedictine Monks around AD 530.
I also got the most beautiful Creche figurines from the monastery that the monks had painted. I cherish it, and it comes out for Christ’s birth season, and it has more animal figurines than any I’ve ever seen. I imagine in honor of St. Francis.

We’re entering prime time for tornado season across the Great Plains. Long-range signals are lighting up, hinting at a big uptick in severe weather by late April—looks like things could get wild. I’ll be tracking every twist and turn here at the weather house.
Well, good morning all.
Got my lawn mowed yesterday. After cutting the grass I had to make about 50 passes with the mower deck all the way up to disburse the cuttings.
Today I clean and power wash both mowers. Scrape the decks. sharpen and balance the blades. change the oil and spark plugs. Clean the air filter on the push mower. Change the air filter and oil filter of the zero turn. Grease the serts on the zero turn and then level the mower deck on the zero turn.
Then I’ll be ready for the rest of the season.
I have a 8′ diameter fire ring. I stacked it high twice with dead fall and branches and pine cones blown out of my trees and the neighbors trees from that 80 mph wind out of the south.
So, I’m getting back in shape from a cold and long winter hibernation. The dogs sure appreciate the shorter grass.
Tomorrow I have the needle biopsy of my prostate. Figure I’ll be taking at least the rest of that day off. We’ll see how it goes. But the thing is once you get the momentum going one hates to lose it. Got lots to do.

Biography: As a young man the German born Handel travelled and lived in Italy, its operatic tradition becoming very influential on his work.
In 1712 Handel decided to settle in London, becoming a naturalized British citizen in 1727. He enjoyed early royal patronage and wrote his famous “Water Music” in 1717 for King George I on the River Thames and in 1727 was commissioned to compose works for the coronation of George II. One of these, “Zadok the Priest” has been played at every British coronation since.
Handel began to move away from Italian style operas towards oratorios before later in life embracing a more English choral tradition. His most famous work “Messiah” was composed in 1742 and its “Hallelujah” chorus has been a Christmas favorite ever since.

Biography: Credited with having coined the phrase “form follows function,” Sullivan was an American architect known as the ‘father of skyscrapers’ and ‘father of modernism.’
Beginning his career in Chicago, he worked for William LeBaron Jenney—the first architect to erect a steel frame building. Chicago was to become a laboratory for a new type of building driven by expanding steel production.
With ready access to steel, structural constraints which had previously determined designs were no longer a problem. Sullivan, while not the first to realise this, was renowned for having leaned into the particular characteristics of steel—hence, “form follows function.”
Sullivan attributed this concept to the Roman architect, Vitruvius; however he gave it new meaning in formulating and refining the now iconic design of skyscrapers.

In my ‘hood there is an ‘industrial’ fire alongside I-55 and Rt. 59. Little news but I received a cell phone alert at 0455, waking me from the best needed sleep ever. “Smoke alert”. About a year ago, a long standing local business caught fire, with real toxic fumes….(rural and farm fertilizer company).

COMMENTARY FOR JOHN 10
The parable of the good shepherd. (1-5) Christ the Door. (6-9) Christ the good Shepherd. (10-18) The Jews’ opinion concerning Jesus. (19-21) His discourse at the feast of dedication. (22-30) The Jews attempt to stone Jesus. (31-38) He departs from Jerusalem. (39-42)1-5 Here is a parable or similitude, taken from the customs of the East, in the management of sheep. Men, as creatures depending on their Creator, are called the sheep of his pasture. The church of God in the world is as a sheep-fold, exposed to deceivers and persecutors. The great Shepherd of the sheep knows all that are his, guards them by his providence, guides them by his Spirit and word, and goes before them, as the Eastern shepherds went before their sheep, to set them in the way of his steps. Ministers must serve the sheep in their spiritual concerns. The Spirit of Christ will set before them an open door. The sheep of Christ will observe their Shepherd, and be cautious and shy of strangers, who would draw them from faith in him to fancies about him.
6-9 Many who hear the word of Christ, do not understand it, because they will not. But we shall find one scripture expounding another, and the blessed Spirit making known the blessed Jesus. Christ is the Door. And what greater security has the church of God than that the Lord Jesus is between it and all its enemies? He is a door open for passage and communication. Here are plain directions how to come into the fold; we must come in by Jesus Christ as the Door. By faith in him as the great Mediator between God and man. Also, we have precious promises to those that observe this direction. Christ has all that care of his church, and every believer, which a good shepherd has of his flock; and he expects the church, and every believer, to wait on him, and to keep in his pasture.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

It has become obvious that our current monetary system has to be destroyed. It has been a source of manipulation and control and abused by anyone who wishes. Our current laws cannot contain the corruption and abuse and will never be able to because of the power structures implemented by the architects of our systems of government, judiciary, legislative, executive.
There are more important issues than houses, boats, yachts, skyscrapers, retirement, clothing, jewelry, plastic surgery, parties, cars, airplanes. If you could separate the two “things” and money you could allow such extravagant items but our system relies on those to pull us away from what is important. Children are important, families, are important, God and his reverence are important, our constant development as a society and people are important. We have begun a downward spiral once again.
There is one thing and one thing only that is God and he must come first in our hearts and minds at all times or all is lost, we have tipped the scales now to money only. You can put any god in that place and all is lost, money has been our master.
The thoughts of men are evil, and the demon influences are constant, only our relinquishing the mind to God and his reverence can we exist. We have lost so much of our vision that only money is our focus, our constant effort. This has been the intention to capture our efforts to serve a few. A devious plan, a plan that removes free thinking and spiritual progress.
Having plenty seems to be pointless having lack extrapolates and cleanses our mind to see clearly what is important. Socialism only works when we work for the well being of others, we are embracing socialism but only to capture more power, not as a means of freedom. The abundance from a socialist society can only come from giving, a point to rely on the goodness of your neighbor and the love of God. Every society has socialism to a degree, it’s what our country relied upon as we grew now, it’s a tool to enslave. As all ideas can be twisted, that is the exact description of sin.

If they had gone after the pens with the 22,000 lab Grand Slam it would have been a different story. Two 12,000 lb. Tall Boys struck L3 and did significant damage to the upper roof but failed to penetrate the inner one.
617 squadron which specialized in dropping the 22,000 Grand Slam with modified Lancaster Bombers were kept pretty busy in other work, with V1 and V2 sites having priority so they never targeted the Ls at Lorient with Grand Slams. So instead the regular bombers went after the supporting infrastructure for the U-boats instead of the Pens themself.
Lorient was beseiged by part of Patton’s 3rd Army, in August, 1944 and so a scheduled raid by 617 squadron with Grand Slam bombs was canceled. As Troy Middleton with a reinforced Corp from Patton’s 3rd Army pushed down the Brittany Peninsula the majority of the German troops withdrew to the heavily fortified Port of Lorient. After a few probing attacks it was decided the cost of taking the place by assault wasn’t worth it and so it was surrounded and isolated and did not surrender until after Germany surrendered.

That seems more reasonable than a fully computerized truck on its own. That stretch of I-90 north of there already has all those doubles and so on running it.
Why not do Road Trains like in Australia for major shipments between terminals? Certainly there must be some highways that could accommodate them safely. Truck stops could have parts of their parking lots re-striped to accommodate them.
It could be made to work but couldn’t imagine US drivers comprehending how much space and time it takes to pass a road train on a two lane highway. In the outback it wasn’t a huge problem when I was there which was years ago. Perhaps some of our Aussie treepers could speak to it?

Y’all know me, I’d rather buy Fiesta 2nd hand or wait (that 5 year warranty comes with a rather handsome price; though not unfair, imo, I have a budget that constrains me). The planets just have to line up for a splurge to take place.
Fiesta being Made In USA is always the baseline justification for me… actually, more an imperative than justification.
