Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.

We’re full. The border needs to be sealed. Americans can and should pick our crops. That pitiful excuse that “there are no Americans to do xyz job” is partly why we have 100 million invaders in our towns and cities. The majority never left.

Americans did all the things the illegals do now at one time. Illegals led to low wages so took jobs from Americans that needed to be paid more. The welfare state let people eat and have a place to live without working. The government and colleges convince most young people they needed higher education and that they should be white collar workers and were too good for manual labor.
Yes some crops are still picked by hand, but most today are harvested with machinery. Crockett is a crock of you know what.
In the US the two predominant ways to harvest cotton on farms is either using 1) mechanical cotton pickers or 2) using a mechanical cotton stripper.
Hand-harvesting is still the standard in many other countries and you can see that done in many areas of Turkey, India, China, Africa, etc.

I think some college students wouldn’t mind a summer job that got them out in the fresh air, if college didn’t cost so much that they couldn’t take low-wage work.
The old diversified farms had full-time employees, who lived in houses on the farm. There was work to be done year around.
Access to imported labor for piecework wages enabled larger farms to buy up the diversified family farms and plant monocultures, requiring temporary laborers in the spring and in the fall. These crews have lived in labor camps, and they are expected to disappear whence they came when the work is over for the season.
Not in my area, but they had huge houses with lots of kids for free labor. East of town we had Dutch Catholic families that all had 7 – 12 kids. West of town we had German Polish families with that had just as many kids. The biggest family I knew was in the Wausau area with 22 kids and no multiple births. Talk about a woman being barefoot and pregnant that was the mother of the family. And many of those families survived on 80-120 acres and 40 cows being milked. But eventually the fathers had to get off farm jobs for more income if they didn’t the mothers had off farm jobs to cover the health insurance. That led to much smaller families and was part of the failure of the family farm.
College kids would drive a cotton picker, they would not pick cotton by hand which is a pretty brutal hard labor job.
The good news is there is no need for anyone to pick cotton by hand except for hobby farmers that would so might do it themselves.

I have, and would do it again. What prevents me from returning to work from retirement is the tax structure. I would be robbed of any additional income.
For most crops harvest is not manual as in the “good ole days”. I have had farmers tell me they will no longer plant anything that requires manual harvest. Some manual crops are be cultivated indoors, hydroponically on trellises, greatly reducing exposure and strain.

Workmans Comp is over 25% of wages for most construction jobs and liability insurance is ridiculous.
Running a business legally is at a disadvantage of more than 100% when you add in all of the insurance and other cost as opposed to running an illegal business.

I remember how poor crop picking Americans were in the book, “The Grapes of Wrath”. I really don’t want Americans to be that dirt poor.
If Americans WANT to be that poor then they should be able to do it. But I would prefer that American children do more than be generationally poor.
I am agreeable that Guest Worker Programs be allowed for crop picking with the caveat that the farmers pay for the tutors for their children, their housing is clean and decent, and the farmer pays for their meals. Basically, I don’t want the taxpayers subsidizing farmers’ cheap labor. If dirt poor Americans want to live the Migrant Farm Worker Life then I am okay with that as well.
But just like all guests, they have to leave and they are escorted to the border.
I am of the opinion that all kids should have to work on a farm in the summer.
Getting up at four o’clock in the morning to pick crops or milk cows establishes a good work ethic, gives you an appreciation for hard work, connects you with nature and incentivizes you to look for a job to make an easier living.
As a parent, you don’t have to tell a kid what time they need to be home to go to bed either. They learn that real fast when you roll them out at four o’clock in the morning and keep them going all day.
Build a website for foodie camp. Charge the parents for allowing their kids to attend your exclusive camp. Get the firepit going and show them how to roast S’mores. You wouldn’t believe how incredibly expensive summer activities are.

Everyone was poor. It was not as a result of choosing temporary farm work, but of the FDR government’s epic failures leading to the depression and loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs.
My mom and dad and uncle, aunt and family all moved to Idaho to work in the potatoes. I was born there in 1944. They all lived in the same house. Another aunt and uncle and family went to Washington state to work in the apples. They were all from the Missouri Ozarks and there was no work at the time.
Agreed. However, I also think those who are collecting welfare, EBT cards and the like be offered the jobs. It’s funny to me when I hear people say, “Americans won’t do such and such a job”, NO CRAP! Because some can get paid by government whether they work or not.
No one is stopping Americans from working the farms now are they? Why don’t more do it? Wages and benefits are just part of it. Maybe the welfare laws need to change and be enforced for those healthy enough to work which leads right into the fraud in the unemployment laws, Medicaid and disability hand outs that DOGE found.
It used to be part of the welfare laws I believe and the unemployment laws, that anyone capable of working needed to find work within a certain time frame. That time frame meant the benefits ended. Now, that has all been tweaked and changed and people stay on unemployment much longer and the requirements for actively attempting to find a job are a joke.
There are numerous places where there needs to be a complete do over on the laws in order to get Americans off their couches and actually working again. Picking crops and other jobs like that should be just as available to Americans, should be viable alternatives and unemployment and welfare term lengths should have a short term end date for everyone capable of working.
Back in the ’70’s, I actually had to report weekly on my applications to work. (I can’t recall how much detail I had to provide.) I had a baby and was living with relatives. I got kicked off unemployment when I turned down a job offer because it didn’t offer any group insurance coverage.
Offer the same pay and tax exemptions to American workers and to the employers of such seasonal employees: i.e., no income tax, no SS/medicare tax to employee & employer match, no unemployment tax, plus include any other exemptions from regulations and any other special accommodations provided for migrant workers.
Level the playing field and then the true need for immigrant labor can be assessed. Until then, the true “need” for migrant numbers are inflated.

Back in the 70’s, men would come up from Mexico to do agricultural work. At the end of the season, they would take their money and go home. The system seemed to work well. Men would come up year after year.
I knew a Mexican man who used to be among the migrant farm workers during the late 60’s and well into the 70’s. He was an engineer but made more picking crops up here, especially when job opportunities in his profession were thin.

Without Mexican guest worker farm labor would be a disaster and Americans would starve. I have tried both a number of times and there is no comparison. The American farm labor does not even come close to the farm labor ethic required for farm labor.
At times I would hire an all American crew and none of them lasted a full day. Give Trump credit. President Trump knows the difference and obviously you don’t.
Anyone who thinks Agriculture in America can last without Mexican farm labor is totally naïve. There is far more to it than meets the eye.

I agree Mexican farm Labor does not take farm work from American workers. There are no American farm workers to take work from.
Technology may take some work from Mexican farm workers. It remains to be seen as to what extent. I have a friend who just bought a new cotton picker His cost was over a million dollars. I use it to illustrate the cost of new technology machinery may be well out of reach for many small family farmers.
Mexican farm workers are consumers while in America. Many businesses in farming communities depend on Mexican farm workers in order to sustain their business. Also Mexican farm workers pay taxes in the form of payroll taxes and sales taxes.
There is a lot to consider in regards to Mexican farm workers or no Mexican farm workers. Thank God President Trump is well aware of pro’s/ con’s and ramifications in commonsense detail.
I do know this much as of right now. Americans would suffer a huge food shortage if it were not for Mexican farm labor. Many, many family farms would go out of business. Many rural communities would die. Many consumers would not have the variety of foods to choose which are now being taken for granted.

I’ve heard crop workers move from farm to farm as if “on tour” moving from place to place based on what’s due to be harvested. These hard working laborers are well respected by the farmers who rely on them returning every year/season.
I was raised in a rural, small crop farm area in the NW. we had crop harvest families in the 1950’s from Mexico. They arrived early spring for the strawberries and stayed until September for the last of the string beans crops. It was basically the same families returning every year and they were welcomed and respected. I even remember the “patriarchal” leader’s name…Calvin, who made all the arrangements among several relatives who were field crop farmers. BTW, we “kids” also worked in the fields right along with them to earn money for our school clothes. I remember we were paid 3 cents for a pint of picked strawberries that went up to 5 cents if we stayed the entire season. So, basically we got 30 cents for a crate of strawberries. String beans were also 3 cents a lb. If you worked your Fanny off when the beans were at their peak, you might make $10 a day.
I knew a family of white itinerant farmers when I was growing up. They were skilled, not lazy. There are a multitude of reasons for Americans no longer really doing that kind of work.
We accept the “Americans are lazy and don’t want to get their hands dirty” premise far too readily.
I agree based on what little I’ve seen that you’d be hard-pressed to rely solely on Americans to pick large crops today.
We offer many “safety nets” to those who don’t work.
So Americans weren’t willing to work for $10 per day but migrants were. That shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone. Did you take out taxes or pay the employer part of FICA or have to do all the associated reporting, payment for workers comp, unemployment (state and federal) for those migrant workers?
Absolutely, the kids worked in the fields and orchards. I do not believe that farming was ever and “adults only” enterprise until within my lifetime.
My parents both grew up in the country. My father was a farm boy. My mother knew full well about picking crops. They decided that we three kids need to understand where food and money came from. My father planted cucumbers and we picked them to sell to the Rainbo Pickle Company.
The three of us kids have never quite forgiven them. LOL. We used to tease them about being child abusers.
Mexican aren’t the real problem anymore. It is now Central and South Americans, Mid-easterners and the Chinese. Mexicans want to work, the other want to suck of the government, commit crimes and destroy the US with terrorism. Many Mexicans have even went back to Mexico because of these new illegals. Many guest workers don’t want to live here, just to work here.
My area (Wisconsin) is big in dairy farming. The transition from family farm to dairy farm factories is why illegals are employed. While dairy farming has become more mechanized it is still heavily human dependent Many of the workers live dormitory style on the farms. US workers will not do that.

In a saner era, a farmer didn’t need a large industrial operation to be successful and raise a family. Economy of Scale has invaded every aspect of the economy, it is not accidental. The Globo Corp model has been forced on us, it is not normal good or rational from a human perspective.
Yes but Wisconsin gets screwed by an ancient system that pays per hundred weight by how far you are from Eau Claire WI. The closer the less you get per hundred weight the farther the more you get. That is a huge advantage to Georgia and California milk producers.
I was raised in the South San Joaquin Valley, worked in Ag and listened to your reasoning much of my life as justification for the invasion we were forced to submit to. Now silicon valley uses similar justifications for similar reasons. Construction, manufacturing, same.
And California is what it is, destroyed, because of it. If there are no Americans It is not by accident, this is what “Leaders” wanted, and they got it. Cheap exploitable labor, in every segment of the economy, that can’t vote but are useful to ballot harvest and congressional apportionment.

Yes, a cotton picker is expensive. But so were combines in the day, and custom farmers went from farm to farm, harvesting wheat for a fee. They started in Texas and worked their way up to Canada, with combines, trucks and crew. Not every cotton grower needs a cotton picker.
Machines to pick beans, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes and the like? Is there such a machine?

Check into harvest of yellow squash, cabbage, watermelons in south Ga. No machine can make the judgement calls these guys make for harvest. These aint the only examples, just saying talk to some real farmers amd see what’s involved.
Same goes for pruning fruit trees.
Sometimes there is no substitute for a man with a brain.
Having said that I know a man that harvests several million pounds blueberries with machine, and then a sorting machine sorts with lasers etc. Amazing and expensive operation. But still employs an army of Mex women to handle some of packaging duties because the machine mangles the job

Many farm tasks require “judgement” decisions. Way more than average uninformed appreciate. A factory workers task is more of a “repetitive” exercise. There is way, way more judgement involved with a farm Labor job.
As an example an “irrigator”; running water too fast, too slow, too little water too much water, when to shut it off, when to let it run. What time of day to irrigate because of weather temperature. Even something as irrigating requires numerous mental decisions. This is just an example of just one of the many task variables throughout the growing season.
Oh well, farming is not just a “straw hat, straw in your mouth, bib overalls and barefoot”. I remember when I was kid, city kid friends would come out to the farm and try and help. They were mainly us farm kids entertainment. They had no idea how to hold a shovel let alone dig a hole in the dirt with it. Lol

It has to do with purchasing power. I have talked to my workers and when they go back to Mexico with what I paid them. It would be like an American worker going to Canada as labor making $150,000-$200,000 and only working 8-9 months out of the year.
Its the purchasing power in a particular Country of origin and not the comparison of what you’re paid here and what it costs to buy here. Many are provided free housing and electricity by the farmers they’re employed.

He has always been pro guest worker As he uses them at his Florida Clubs. This was known when he first ran for President. It is seasonal work because of the heat in the summer.
Several private clubs in Florida hire guest worker employees for the season…from South Africa. The hospital I was associated with brought in nurses from the Philippines. Don’t know if still true, but when I lived at the Jersey Shore, there were many Polish women who were guest workers as Nannie’s and housekeepers for more affluent families.

Not many American conservatives I know are not pro LEGAL immigration. Not sure if you meant illegal or legal. We need legal immigrants to come here (with quotas of course on how many can come in) who want to become Americans and have skills and work ethic to bring to the table. What no one wants are the illegals who run across the border and steal services and money from the legal hard working citizens of this country.
I am not for replacement of Americans, even by legal avenues. This is one thing that I believe differently from PDJT. Until it is fully studied and established using equivalent employment scales, I think all visa programs need to be downsized. That includes student visas. The current guidelines assessing a need based on manufactured and slanted data are not in Main Street’s best interests. The benefits go to the companies with some of those benefits being passed onto stockholders and to the globalist elitist CEO’s and officers who run and control those companies.

Jinxy, I think that you are right. When Americans in their twenties need to work the farms or work in factories in order to avoid starvation, they will do so. That may be the only way.
There is a million-dollar operation down the street from me. It uses 100 H1-As. They stay February to November. Without the H1-As it would cease to exist immediately. There are no Americans who will do the jobs.
The Mexican guys come year after year. They are with their families three months a year in the winter. They say that there simply is no comparison in Mexico to the $15/hour they get here. One guy I know has missed his children’s growing up except for those winter months, just for that $15/hr.

Had male in-laws who worked as waiters in high end restaurants and casinos as their careers and literally missed every family holiday because of working….lots of health care workers and others do the same. It’s a choice.

Does your “Mexican guest worker” receive any public benefits? EBT, WIC, Section 8, etc.? Are they receiving these benefits via some form of fraud? If yes, its not a good comparison to an American low wage worker deemed ineligible for subsidy.
Do they receive H2A tax exemptions, (income withholding, social security, and Medicare, federal unemployment) unavailable to American citizens?
Are they entering and misrepresenting the purpose of entry and working on a visitors visa that prohibits work?
P.S; I was OK with the Bracero Program. It went away because the Growers and the United Farm Workers Union did not like it, for different reasons.

I had a cafeteria in my school where students and faculty could buy a hot lunch if they wanted it, but you say school lunch and they start screaming aabout bringing food from home.

The problem with the school lunch program is not that it is free or reduced, it is that everything hangs on what is a “reimbursable meal” as defined by Big Ag and DC Bureaucrats. The net effect is that we feed our schoolchildren nasty, chemical filled, crap.
The difference between what was on our plates, cooked on site from real ingredients and dished out by the lunch ladies of our childhoods and what is on the plates of our kids, ultra processed and shipped from a central factory kitchen, is night and day.
Just getting rid of federal government involvement in the school lunch program would save more in future medical costs than any added burden of additional costs to the local educational authorities of going back to real food.
Homeschooled kids eat, I would bet you, 1,000 times healthier than your average public school fed kid.

They always included a vegetable or a fruit cup and a roll or crackers, etc. If you didn’t want to buy your lunch then you brought one from home. Simple. No one was ever without something to eat at lunchtime. And after lunch, you went OUTSIDE for recess! Also on Fridays you could buy one of those little ice cream cups with the little wooden spoons. Remember those?

This was like a policy I read about years ago being done in CA I believe and it was working well. I have no reference to it anymore but I remember reading about it in a magazine. At the time, it seemed like a really good solution to me, addressing the lack of workers on the farms and to prevent illegal immigration and it worked. I have no problem with them trying this. Key is no families come with them. Only workers and they go home at the end of their employment, no extensions on their stay. They go home to Mexico or wherever they are from and reapply again for other jobs.
FYI, Real ID was passed by the Congress in 2005. That ship sailed 20 years ago. Trump has nothing to do with it.

I have had a real ID license for a long time. It’s been available here and when my license was up for renewal I got the enhanced real ID so I could fly. The drivers’ licenses here are good for a number of years before renewal.
There are millions of Americans that have these licenses now. It’s already a done deal and has been for awhile. You can refuse to get one but you will be restricted on air travel at the least. It will be interesting to see the debate on this now. If enough Americans reject it the issue will be a priority I’m sure. It can be changed if enough people make noise about it.
And you can still obtain a good ol’ passport if you want to fly. The Real ID is the beginning of the digital nonsense…passport will do for me.

My opinion is that it is taking longer because we don’t have too many “friendlies” in our judicial system. So everything has got to be perfect or else some corrupt judge is going to throw the case out.
That being said, I still agree that they should arrest some people and make the process the punishment. Just bury these people in legal pain until they are broke. If they do prison time then so be it. If they don’t the we got to enjoy the financial ruin.

My thought exactly. They have to be very careful to get their indictments and arrests air tight because the incoming attacks, including judicial ones will be fierce. The Trump team wants and needs any legal actions to stick and be coherent and winnable for the future too.
Plus, they are still weeding out the enemy employees left over from the past administrations and there are thousands of them to go through. How many of those enemy employees left will try to sabotage any new cases which will go after their former bosses?
The time is coming to be demanding of actions that include major arrests. It shouldn’t be hastened just because people want to see immediate results if the cases are going to be shredded by the enemy as soon as they are enacted.

If people are worried about their personal information being yet again taken by a govt. entity, it is the truth that all of that was most likely taken a long, long time ago and numerous times too. If you ever applied for a bank account, for a mortgage, for a credit card, filed your income taxes both state and federal, if you applied for a job, had fingerprints taken for any reason, were admitted to a hospital, etc. your personal data is in the system and can be accessed if someone wants it.
The idea of real ID is a disturbing one if it is used in the extreme negative ways we fear, but not having it doesn’t mean you are safe from the government getting into your personal data and doing something to you. If they want to target you, restrict you or follow you, they already have the means to do it unless you have kept yourself completely out of their reach which is nearly impossible.

You stated the problem. The laws have beneficial intent at the beginning and then some bad actors in govt with their own political agenda begin tweaking the enforcement of the original law.
It happens all the time as we know. How to make laws ironclad and unable to be changed from original intent except through stiff legislation is the question. Could be a double edged sword though if the original laws are bad to begin with.
Then there is the matter of the courts and how they can be persuaded to interpret the laws in different ways. Look at what the judiciary is doing and has done to our Constitution and its interpretation.

Did any of us ever think that the huge, convoluted mess that has been made of our country over the past 100 plus years could be cleaned up in just a few days? To think so would be what my dear mother used to call pie in the sky thinking.

President Trump has been in office a mere 84 days of his 1,460 day term, and we all should know by now that the wheels of justice often turn slowly.
I think we should also keep in mind, that although our President is a very exceptional man, he is still just a man, and only one man was ever made perfect in the eyes of God, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In other words, President Trump is definetly not The Messiah who conquered the the gates of hell and tore the vail.
Therfore, let us be wise in understanding that change for the the good will take time. It simply isn’t going to happen all at once overnight. I think most of us can grasp this fact.
Let us then exercise patience and faith for our future as a nation, trusting in God to guide our present leader’s thoughts, deeds and actions, that we might get this proverbial train back on it’s tracks, and see true justice prevail.
Let us also give “space and time” to the subordinates – his Cabinet and senior military officers – whom he has chosen to place under him. They must now find their own way, and Trump is wise and experienced enough to give them that. They must form a solid and trustworthy team.
Remember: These people voluntarily agreed to serve, knowing that their greatest task would be to seek to rebuild corrupt institutions, and to restore public faith in them which has been destroyed. They are surrounded by enemies who officially report to them, and who do not want them to succeed. Like Trump himself, they didn’t have to say, “yes.” And they had every good reason not to. They need, and deserve, our respect.

I like that saying and think it helps illustrate the the same thoughts I wish to convey here. It reminds me of the old story about the tortoise and the hare, and the other wise saying: haste makes waste.
I suppose I should add a side note here. Sometimes in certain situations like quickly avoiding head-on collisions while driving or riding a motor vehicle, speedy correction in the right direction can save lives. Driving is tricky because we never know if the if car coming at us is being driven by someone who is drunk or otherwise impaired or simplybnot paying attention to the road. Sometimes quick action is the way to stay out of harm’s way. Thank you for your input.
President Trump’s presidency did start 84 days ago but he won in November and had since 2020 to plan his return. I expected that he would have had people ready to hit the beach on day one, go on offense against lawfare, that by now we would have seen some arrest, inditement, anything. What we are seeing is President Trump playing the game on their field by their rules with their referees.
If he’s just slow rolling out his grand plan, I hope it goes way beyond all of our expectations.

I have a few friends that have autistic children. One of them changed their son’s diet drastically and has seen quite a remarkable improvement in his functioning level. Obviously it hasn’t cured the autism but it has changed his responses to stimulation for the better.
I saw a woman on local TV once, she said when her son went on an elimination diet, she got far fewer calls from his school to come pick him up.

I don’t see dollar stores turning into two dollar stores being fatally affected. The increased cost to builders for tools, especially power tools which wear out, and materials will probably result in them building even more shoddy and overpriced junk than they already are, causing a decrease in home sales.

As I’ve previously pointed out, slightly changing or eliminating just one paragraph in the US Code on the hiring of aliens which effectively prevents employers from checking if the “appears on its face to be valid” IDs used by illegals for employment are fraudulent while giving them the excuse to not do so, would very quickly solve the illegals problem. Changes to the code are explicitly stated within the code to be the sole responsibility of the POTUS.
Another US code in existence since the 1950s threatens long prison terms for individuals (or governors, mayors, or NGOs) who harbor or transport illegals within the US…if actually enforced.
With either, the illegals problem could be fixed quickly…but that would crash the economy, so it isn’t done.
Of course the judge allowed it because it’s absolutely hilarious. “Will the person who robbed the local bank please come forward to register himself with the government.”

In my opinion there’s a lot to be thankful for going into Holy Week. President Trump has gotten almost all his main cabinet confirmed and has publicly signed an amazing number of significant executive orders. Congress has been generally supportive of his agenda and budget. The Dem party seems lost and in decline. The threat of WW3 seems far more distant than just a few months ago. The EU and Globalists are in a defensive reactionary mode and definitely not carrying the impetus. The border has been effectively cleared od hordes of illegal migrants and the high court is somewhat supportive of getting rid of the most dangerous aliens. Is it perfect, absolutely not. I can choose any of these topics and find fault and lack of progress. Perhaps most concerning is the whole deep state/justice thing where meaningful timely action seems ever distant. It’s mention every morning that President Trump will not be making “perfect ” actions but realistic ones. I am frustrated with some timing as the time to save America us short.. For me, I struggle with many things such as why doesn’t President Trump demand more immediate actions from certain cabinet members or hold a news conference on the road to success via use of tariffs. Then again, perhaps there is a higher strategy at work. What I do know is that over the last 85 or so days we are so much better off than we were before. I believe God’s hand is evident and give thanks for that. Have a blessed Holy Week
