I walk around our place, and remember each one – sometimes it brings tears, sometimes smiles – sometimes both at the same time. We’ve got 40 of them resting here – and I’m joining them when it’s time.

Where most of my pets and horses are buried is at the big ranch I sold.
I’ve got my wonderful mare, Queenie buried here, so I can go, smile, cry or just remember how much fun she was to ride and how she loved messing with cows. It was a pure, joyful game to her. Smiling.
A lot of my dogs and cats were cremated and their ashes spread around the rose garden.

Good morning Patty. Thank you for these videos. Happy tears bringing back memories. I had a mare and she lost her first foal. My Vet called and told me there was an orphan foal and did I want to try to get my mare to accept it. I said sure. I had not cleaned up the stall yet, so I rubbed the afterbirth liquids and blood all over the orphan and my mare did accept the foal. It took about 30 minutes but she let it suck and she took it as her own. My vet said she had never seen that happen. The foal had been born on the campus in Commerce Texas at the Vet School at the University. (our fellow treeper, Aggiegirl is probably familiar with this campus). It was so heartwarming to see the foal get a momma. Have a blessed and wonderful day.

I am a senior and alone most of the time. I still have my old (28) year old breeding stallion. I’ve had him since he was four. He is quite gentle and mellowed out considerably with old age. He has earned his retirement.
Quick story, we had a lot of rain last week and weekend. Pasture was just soft and mushy. Walked out with his feed and one of my rubber boots got stuck and down I went on my knees. He quietly walked up to me, hung his head, and let me grab around his neck and he helped me up.
I never lost any of his feed from the bucket.
Did not hurt myself, just my “pride”, smile, but was muddy and wet.
Horses are just the best! I actually look forward to standing before God and reviewing my life. Lots to forgive but I pray that when we get to the parts where I had my horse, Joey, He will slow down the reivew to slow motion so I can enjoy, savour and relive every second with Joey again. And I just love the way they smell.
Burros smell wonderful too – not kidding! May sound strange, but it’s very comforting.
Awww! Being around our animals doesn’t require us to worry about our appearance – thank goodness!

My son built several using large plastic storage bins. Not as thoroughly insulated but the lid is insulated using an old quilted / insulated windshield sun reflector that he cut to fit. He used a heated knife to cut a door opening that tilts up from the bottom
Bottom of the bin has a pressure sensitive heating pad that turns on when a cat lays on top of it. It’s covered with a thin cat pad and the neighborhood strays seem to like it. The cord runs out the door and we keep it near our weather proof power outlet by the back door.
that’s a neat trick, Bari, the pressure-sensitive switching, so it’s not expending electricity unless there’s an occupant

We’ve got a few of these scattered around, and also a garage and little barn for all the orphans out here. Ours aren’t heated, but, well insulated and then they get an old blanket or quilt.
My daughter is a rescuer for the Humane Society. They do a workshop to teach people how to make shelters out of various materials. Old coolers make a good base.

Yes, when the stray kitten showed up here, I took an old cooler and placed towels and old bathroom rugs, (the real fluffy, thick ones), and put an empty, small water trough in front of it in the old pole lean to, to keep the wind away from it. She used it right away, and is still using it.

“If any so far slight either their disease by sin, or the method of cure by Christ, as not to receive Christ upon his own terms, their ruin is upon their own heads. He has said, Look and be saved, look and live; lift up the eyes of your faith to Christ crucified. And until we have grace to do this, we shall not be cured, but still are wounded with the stings of Satan, and in a dying state. Jesus Christ came to save us by pardoning us, that we might not die by the sentence of the law. Here is gospel, good news indeed. Here is God’s love in giving his Son for the world. God so loved the world; so really, so richly. Behold and wonder, that the great God should love such a worthless world! Here, also, is the great gospel duty, to believe in Jesus Christ. God having given him to be our Prophet, Priest, and King, we must give up ourselves to be ruled, and taught, and saved by him. And here is the great gospel benefit, that whoever believes in Christ, shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life. God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, and so saving it. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

A successful African-American (Oscar-nominated Samuel L. Jackson) buys a vacation home and moves into a conservative, all-white neighborhood. One night he is inadvertently suspected of robbing his own home when he attempts to disarm his car alarm.
