it turned out to be appropriate.. i left my boxers out in their fenced in yard last night and around 2 a.m. i heard them barking, which they don’t usually do… so i went out to investigate and bring them up to the house since we have been having very heavy rain on and off also .. i had a BIG light with me, and i immediately saw a possum laying just inside the gate .. i didn’t mess with it and got the dogs.. so first thing this morning around 7 , i went out to check to see if it had been playin’ possum…. nope 💔
i was still a bit aways from the kennel area, and i just did a quick glance, and saw that i was going to need to get a shovel to remove it before i let the boxers back out before the heavy rain started again .. well. again!!
when i got inside the gate , there was itty bitty tiny babies scattered all around !!!!! oh. my .
i was beside myself. it was awfully sad.
since i had recently had to take a teeny baby squirrel 🐿️ ( which was during/after a storm also!) all the way to downtown pensacola to the wildlife sanctuary.. they were fresh on my mind and they ask if i could gather up the babies and bring the mom also, to make sure there wasn’t more babies still in her pouch .. SO upsetting.
but i did all that …..

Oh Annie that is heartbreaking. A few weeks ago, my
black Mouth Cur was carrying on and barking also. Went out and found a very large, very old male possum dead on the other side of the fence. Could tell he was old because he had teeth missing. He had been hanging out at night eating bird see and corn falling from the bird feeders. I would just watch him at night. Dog barking at him didn’t phase him in the least. I cried for him and took him with a big shovel and buried him in my woods. I miss not watching him. Glad you could save the babies.

In the movie I saw this weekend, “The Chosen” (the first two episodes of season 5), Christ is angry at the trade and bartering in the Holy Temple where vendors sell their wares and take advantage of the people trying to honor God. Christ hand-made a whip. A woman with a food cart is stopped by Christ and He tells her that she must stop. That she and her cart do not belong there. That it is an offense to God The Father. She angrily denies Him and growls to let her through! He denies her and she relents only with much protest. He uses the whip to lash out at the evil merchants, overthrows the tables, turns over the money changers, and He releases the animals for sale for sacrifice.
He IS The Sacrifice.
This is analogous of those who wish to bastardize worship with falsities, trying to force the unclean into the process and force its acceptability. It is not acceptable. God’s Way Is Honest and Pure and will not be manipulated.
God, my Father, why do You keep me up at night? Or was it my foolishness in buying that coffee drink?
Do I make an utter fool of myself with the new clothes… vying for a job…. that You either have… or have not… given me?
Oh Father, Be Merciful!

What sort of friend would I be if I knew of danger laying in wait and did not warn? It is not an intention of sounding preachy… it is me finding little nuggets of gold and sharing our most precious with our dear, dear friends.
I know your burden as a medical professional in this climate is heavy, but as I have posted before from the priest I met up with last week… “You have gold in you. Some people are made of paper, made of wood, or made of straw. When the refining fires are set upon them, they are consumed and destroyed. For those who have gold in them, though, the fire purifies the gold and thus they are not consumed, they are sanctified.” (paraphrasing me – but you get the gist)
We walk along this life together – being challenged, being refined, being purified and sanctified – but we walk along this journey together. We are not alone. God Is with us and He Loves us with an everlasting heart and mind.
It is my honor to walk this journey with you. I pray that some of the things I see… help. It is The Holy Spirit living within me that inclines to share.
May God bless and keep you and may He His Face Shine upon you in all His Glory and Warmth, forever!

This is all very preliminary but although there were possibly around 50 tornadoes reported and about a dozen states had at least one tornado indicated yesterday and early this morning and some considerable damage done, there was probably just as much, if not more damage due to large hail and straight line winds which exceeded 80 mph in some places.
Thankfully the squall line moved quickly.
We had some noisy thunder boomers, heavy rain, and a little small hail at my central Indiana home. It looks looked like Indiana and Michigan got more than their fair share of the tornadoes though best I can tell none were reported within 30 miles of my place. Every animal in the house wants to be next to Daddy when the thunder boomers come.
Those down Nashville way got an epic electrical storm last night, like those more common in Florida.

Was recently told about a friend who had seen her Dr for many years.
Another medical firm bought out the place he works and he was going elsewhere. The friend was distraught.
The new owners? They were forcing the doctors to run through another patient every three minutes….
I immediately thought of you and your posts on the changes in the medical industry.
Can’t wrap my head around some of this stuff.

My doctor is somewhat robotic himself, poor man. I think he is making his own practice less fulfilling for himself with that very detached, impersonal, almost bored attitude.
I remember a doctor I had many years ago who would actually talk to you about personal things, knew a little about your family , and remembered things about your family. He was wonderful and was so respected, even loved, in the local area.
My dentist was like that, started going to him when I was 8, last I saw him in Bloomington near the IU frat houses he had a (what I figure is a new Dentist thinking of buying out is practice).
This guy sculpted me a tooth when I had no way to pay for a root canal when I was on unemployment from 9/11 I think.
He did a great job…… still have that sculpted tooth. I think his kids had already graduated from college about that time.<sigh>
Edit: my current “Dr” PA has shown up a couple of times for karaoke(pretty darn good too), this is a rather small town and her attitude is we are her “peeps”, she has rather long visits for my current health changes, unlike my last DR. who probably had a every 5 min schedule to get to next patient.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock.
