The question is disturbing enough, I looked at his Wiki. After 4 years in the Marine Corps, he pursued a career as a wedding planner with his wife Robyn in Arizona. He quit the Oath Keepers for being too radical. Post J6, he moved from Arizona to “a trailer in the Rocky Mountains.”
Epps is like a character in a Tony Hillerman novel. He is never fully explained until the end of the book, perhaps only seen coming into the trading post to buy whiskey and wieners once a month. My daughter was trying to help me with a problem with my computer, and after multiple phone calls and literally hours on the phone with Apple customer support, she found out that the equipment she bought was inadequate for what she needed to do.
She went to the Apple Store, in hopes of exchanging it for what she needed, and they told her that because it had been just over 30 days she couldn’t exchange it or return it.
If she had been informed of what the problem was during the first three-hour phone call, she would have been to the store much sooner. She works full time.
I recently learned that Apple is one of the most notorious companies for hiring H1B foreigners over Americans.
No wonder Elon likes them.
Anyway, aside from the threat to make the experience more like going to the Apple Store, I’m not sure I like the idea of having government computers communicating with each other, either.

3 weeks ago, I looked at what Walmart had on sale because I needed a new laptop THAT DAY! I have a subscription to Consumer Reports online so I checked what Walmart had in stock against Consumer’s ratings and ended up with a new 15.6 inch Acer Aspire 3 for $369 plus tax. I don’t play video games so I had no need for blinding speed. (Think $$$) I cared more about memory capacity as I don’t want anything of mine in “The Cloud”. My new laptop has 512 GB of memory.
Acer and ASUS are Taiwanese made which I equate to Korean made and close enough to the Japanese in quality.
I believe my $39/year subscription to digital Consumer Reports saves me time and money. I can’t rate them high enough.

Those H1B rascals strike again! 30 days sounds like a reasonable return policy to me. She thought the problem was something she was doing wrong, so she didn’t try to exchange what she bought for something that would work until it was just over 30 days.
It seems on the surface that there is a cooling of relations between Europe and the US. According to Russians, this is a phony Trump-Europe divorce.

NYT’s Secret History Detailing US ‘Shocking’ Involvement In Ukraine War

It is years too late and alternative and independent media had already done so much work on exposing the reality, including 600+ page books which have been published, but the New York Times on Sunday is out with a lengthy report on The Partnership: The Secret History of America’s Role in the Ukraine War.
Up until very recently, mainstream media gatekeepers wouldn’t so much as admit that a proxy war has been unfolding from the very start of the conflict in Ukraine. This even after the so-called paper of record had earlier in Feb. 2024 acknowledged that the CIA had built 12 “secret spy bases” in Ukraine to wage a shadow war against Russia going back to 2014.
Again, it comes much too belatedly, but now with Ukrainian forces clearly losing the fight, the Times admits that the prior Biden administration was far more involved in being embedded on a military and intelligence level with Ukraine than was previously made public by official sources.
The report is a deep dive into the “extraordinary partnership of intelligence, strategy, planning and technology” that became Zelensky’s “secret weapon” in countering Russia. It begins by describing that within two months of Putin sending his army across the border, Ukrainian generals in civilians clothes were being secretly whisked away for high-level war planning sessions at US bases in Germany.
The passengers were top Ukrainian generals,” NY Times describes of men taken by a convoy of unmarked cars from the Ukrainian capital to Western Europe. “Their destination was Clay Kaserne, the headquarters of U.S. Army Europe and Africa in Wiesbaden, Germany. Their mission was to help forge what would become one of the most closely guarded secrets of the war in Ukraine.”
The report makes clear that US commanders were much more inter-woven into Ukrainian operations than known, to the point of ‘shocking’ some NATO allies. In essence many counter-Russia operations happening on Ukraine’s battlefields were simply run from the base in Germany.
“But a New York Times investigation reveals that America was woven into the war far more intimately and broadly than previously understood,” the report continues. “At critical moments, the partnership was the backbone of Ukrainian military operations that, by U.S. counts, have killed or wounded more than 700,000 Russian soldiers. (Ukraine has put its casualty toll at 435,000.) Side by side in Wiesbaden’s mission command center, American and Ukrainian officers planned Kyiv’s counteroffensives. A vast American intelligence-collection effort both guided big-picture battle strategy and funneled precise targeting information down to Ukrainian soldiers in the field.”
Notably, this is essentially US officials and the NY Times also admitting that the Kremlin has all along been right when it insisted this was never really simply about Moscow vs. Kiev – but that NATO countries have militarized Ukraine and weaponized it against Russia. President Putin and Kremlin officials have been fiercely complaining about US intervention all along, but this was dismissed in the West as merely ‘propaganda’.

As the manhunt for American citizens who participated in the events of January 6 accelerated in early 2021, the Biden Department of Justice took an unprecedented approach in the handling of political protesters: demand pretrial detention even for those charged with nonviolent offenses such as obstruction and conspiracy.
A special prison for J6ers had been opened in the nation’s capital a few days after Jan 6; individuals from around the country were being transported to the DC gulag after being denied release following an arrest in their home state. Judges in Washington were flooded with DOJ requests to keep J6ers, most of whom had no criminal record, behind bars awaiting trial; judges needed guidance as to how to proceed.
So, in stepped Beryl Howell, the chief judge of the D.C. district court at the time.
In February 2021, in another unprecedented move, Howell established what became known as the “Chrestman factors.” Named after William Chrestman, a member of the Proud Boys from Kansas, Howell claimed that “the undeniably traumatic events of January 6” required the courts to ditch the standard practice of evaluating pretrial detention on an individual basis and instead lump all J6ers together.
Howell laid out the “differentiating factors that warrant pretrial detention of certain defendants facing criminal liability for their participation in the mob.” Judges should, according to Howell, determine whether the defendant was part of a group that planned in advance to go to the Capitol; injured or interfered with police that day; or used “words and movements during the riot” that represented (in her mind) “egregious” misconduct.

We produce 13 million barrels a day. We get an additional 5 million barrels from Canada and Mexico every day plus another 2 million from other countries totalling about 20 million barrels every day.
Our oil wells are running near full capacity so where are we going to get 7 million barrels a day which is 50% of our current production and how many years will it take? It’s completely unrealistic and disingenuous to 25% tariff over 5 million barrels of oil a day and say that you want to bring oil and gas prices in the US down to bring down inflation and interest rates. It just doesn’t make sense!
US uses 20 million barrels per day, so those imports are hardly 50% of our usage.
Okay, then 25 to 30%. Either way I thought the exercise was to lower the cost of oil and gas so inflation would drop and interest rates would drop. President Trump said that interest rates needed to get back to 3% not just for auto loans and mortgages but because the rate of borrowing on the federal debt needed to be cut quickly became the interest on the federal debt was half of budget.
Right now the T-Bill rates are over 4%. Cutting the interest rate to 2% on short-term debt will save billions.
If oil drops to 50 bucks a barrel, it will cripple the U.S. domestic oil production and exploration.
$50 a barrel is about $1.69 gas. Hardly crippling and that’s what President Trump wants.

I haven’t seen this discussed here today, but the Washington Post published yesterday a secret memo that they say was leaked from the Pentagon. It is a 9-page document, signed by Secretary Hegseth, that is named “Interim National Defense Strategic Guidance”.
The marked “Secret” document says that “the Department’s sole pacing threat” is China with the overriding priority of denying Beijing a successful military reunification with Taiwan. As far as Russia, Iran, and North Korea, those are of second tier importance and should be dealt with by our allies.
