What your suggesting is a demolition; blow it up, or “bring it down” clear the rubble and start over from scratch.

DOGE is only identifying the waste. It is being cleared under the authority of President Trump.
Its more than that. I think to the degree that previous administrations made any efforts (actually it is Inspector Generals that are specifically charged with finding and eliminating Waste, Fraud and Abuse) they DID focus on gathering evidence, that they could then turn over to DOJ for prosecution.
And that bogs them down, with each investigation involving taped depositions, etc.
DOGE is focused on STOPPING the waste, fraud, abuse from continueing, and not primarily focused on catching perps.
IG’s are SORT OF like cops, DOGE is more like an auditor, and thats a big difference, bearing in mind its a rough analogy to make a point.

It often happens that government programs collide with other government programs.
Upper managers who oversee programs compete with other managers and programs. There are personnel assigned to make programs look effective, because “successful” programs lead to promotions , bonuses, etc. perhaps even a position in the private sector.
So I hope that DOGE (time permitting) will take a look beyond the grift and waste, and help define agency objectives and the best methods to achieve them.

Being an ancient IT Geek/Nerd – I knew back in the 1980’s that the Australian Government’s various databases/agencies weren’t linked up (talking to each other).
I knew that some day in the future, they’d all be linked up and I rued that day – as the end of My Personal Privacy.
But being a Geek – I didn’t consider the misuse of those non-interacting Government departments.
They caught up with me about 10 x years ago, when I could finally buy a house with my wife – I wasn’t rorting the system as my mind and morals don’t go down those channels!
So, I ask what kind of geeks saw the loop holes 40 x years ago and decided to take advantage of them.
I didn’t see them or couldn’t even conceive such a concept.
My illegal acts:- were failing to register to vote and not actually voting.
Being over 18 in Australia and not voting is illegal
I’m still weighing up losing my personal privacy vs stopping fraudster (and Government rorts).

There are many businesses “for the poor, the sick, the vulnerable, the dying” which have been designed and look good on the surface, but in closer scrutiny provide very little service to patients, but are effective diverters of the 4 Trillion dollar health care pool of Medicare, Medicaid, VA, and private insurance.
Smiths ability to make money off the pool of US health care money is impressive. His ability to make real improvement in healthcare has not only been disappointing, it has resulted in a diversion of health care money away from real health care that makes a difference in the lives of patients.
We cannot recruit physicians into primary care. It is almost a non viable model. Hospital systems are ditching primary care physicians. New physicians go into the industry controlled silos of hospitalists, or other better paying areas with less workload than primary care. The primary care pool is rapidly becoming extinct. Physician s have the highest suicide rate of any profession — higher than war veterans.
He has been “innovating” and writing the rules for CMS, then building healthcare startup companies that are making a financial killing at the expense of front line physicians and nurses

I remarked about DOGE in the same breath as Neuralink to draw attention to two very different matters, one producing positive results, while the other will not, in my opinion.

When you find instances of fraud, does it get investigated by law enforcement for possible criminal charges/indictments?
Its a question that never gets asked. Fraud is still a crime is it not? or does that only apply to the private sector except when Hunter Biden does it.
So inquiring minds want to know when are people going to start going to jail?

Certainly when they find direct evidence of specific cases ofvfraud, or petterns if fraud, they are referring it to FBI or DOJ.
However, their primary focus is on plugging the leaks that are enabling the fraud, kind of like the difference between wholesale and retail.
If they took the time to gather evidence of any scammer calling into SS, to try to divert Grandmas direct deposit, they would not accomplish nearly as much as setting up a far more efficient system, so that when grandma really DOES change banks, she can change her direct deposit info, but scammers can’t.

Every judge that is blocking president Trump’s efforts to make the US safer and financially stable should be forced to watch this video of the work of DOGE and not allow any lawsuits that cannot prove what this team is doing is harmful to the country.
They are stalling for time so that the corruptocrats can cover their tracks.

I feel extreme disgust at learning about the waste and fraud. There is a reason many federal employees are not highly regarded as we have seen proven now. We are very lucky to have such a brilliant team trying to make the corrections that have long been needed. The DOGE team findings plus the years of open borders are such an assault on our country it is hard to fathom the damage. I am thankful for Elon Musk and team and of course President Trump’s wisdom to direct this sorely needed task.
I listed each of the team members and their backgrounds. It may be in the penalty box for being too long.. (Sorry Adrem). I thought it was useful. These are not young nerdy techies. These are very successful businessmen with connections to many of the businesses that will profit from a stronger America, but who could also abuse their position.

This means they know that gutting the federal workforce won’t make a significant impact to the federal budget, because the federal payroll is only 4% of the budget in the first place.
It also means they know that even cutting a trillion from the budget won’t stop the debt juggernaut that has passed into runaway-feedback-loop growth now due to interest, debt growth which will rise even more with Trump’s extension of tax cuts.

So what are the real goals of DOGE?
So far, the significant effects are: Creating more chaos, instability, administrative overload and related dysfunction, and fear which will also reinforce government/contractor workforce compliance with top-down command and control – a necessary condition for neo-fascist tyranny, apparently coming as part of of the Plan.
If those are the real goals, then they are succeeding.
