If you want soda and you’re on SNAP, wouldn’t it make a lot more sense to stay on SNAP? The money you save on the food you actually need enables you to have much more discretionary spending for stuff like junk food and recreational drugs.
Yes it would make more sense to stay on SNAP and just not buy the soda with it, use other funds.
SNAP is for “supplemental nutrition” which means the food should have at least some nutrition in it.
SNAP is not the sole source of benefits to the very poor.
Let RFK Jr. draw up the “new ” guidelines.

I don’t remember too many collectible automobiles where people actively wanted to damage them? How would you feel having to park your Tesla somewhere without security cameras even 5 years from now? What’s the lifespan of the Tesla battery pack and would someone reconsider owning a Tesla if they have to replace the battery AND worry about someone keying it or throwing brake fluid on it? It seems like most Tesla owners up until very recently were Left of center, virtue signalling types. They aren’t real car nuts as I see them.
I am predicting that Teslas’ resale value plummets and new Teslas will start dropping in price.
Cars that I never dreamed would be collectible are and vice versa. You’ve made me curious and I will pay attention to used Tesla values.
And, of course, there is a black market in SNAP cards. A $100 snap card is sold for $50 bucks so drugs can be purchased. This happens in my town….

I just think we shouldn’t be paying for anything totally devoid of any nutrition at all.
I don’t care if somebody buys grape juice with sugar in it on SNAP.
I care about all the people who are using snap benefits who can afford other things that I can’t (fraud).
I also care about the barrels of food that go to places like the Dominican Republic, purchased with our tax dollars.
No sugar, white flour, donuts, pastries, cookies, potato chips, fruit juice, refined cereal, pop tarts, etc.
All the U.S. taxpayer should be paying for is wholesome food – meat, veges, fruit, dairy, eggs, etc.
And of course, NOTHING to non citizens.

I would also like for SNAP benefits go just for wholesome food. But one factor no one is talking about is that many low-income people and families live in inner-city food deserts — and they may not have transportation to get to other areas of town where the “nice” grocery stores are.
If the closest store you have is a corner convenience store, you are often at the mercy of that store as to what kind of “healthy” food they have. If your kids are hungry, and it’s a choice between buying some white bread, hot dogs, refined cereal, pop tarts, and chips, or having nothing to feed them — you try to pick out the best of what there is.
I see areas like that in Cleveland ‘s inner city. Some of the real grocery stores have moved out because of crime, or economics, leaving many areas underserved. It’s a different world.

The people who need the SNAP and the people who burn down the stores are not the same people.
I still like the old food bank concept…they get the basic, wholesome foods IN PERSON, grown by American farmers,which helps them as well. If the people want to turn around and sell the food, that’s up to them but I suspect there wouldn’t be much of that going on.
Speaking of which, our Cleveland Food Bank does a great job of that — our church’s food pantry is a major distribution point for them weekly. But today, local headlines are saying that some of the federal cuts are pulling 20 semi trucks that is going to seriously impact delivery and distribution here.
Not sure what’s behind it, but I did send an email to RFK Jr to see if he or HHS could do something. I can’t imagine President Trump wanting families and seniors who rely on this to go hungry, farmers to lose business with the food bank, or food to spoil while they are trying to sort this out:

Thank you Aggiegirl for posting. I have to admit that it was indeed very hard for me to read. Having lived through sexual abuse as a child and knowing the devastation it can cause it is just mind boggling that the WHO, UN, Rutgers, Bill Gates and others promote this so openly. It seems they want a reduced population of perverts and shamed individuals that feel no self worth.
75% of women that are in Drug and Alcohol rehabilitation centers admit to being sexually abused. I don’t know the statistics for men but I’m sure it is high as well.

The fact that Boasberg chose to attend a program centered on a form of government (i.e. Democracy vs Republic per the Constitution) is revealing. A democracy is not based on natural or inalienable rights, but on whatever the mob chooses to allow or eliminate.

Must be nice to be a Federal Contractor who does not have to operate under a Forward Pricing Rate Agreement (FPRA), an agreement between a contractor and a government agency in which certain indirect rates are established for a specified period of time …. which fixes Overhead Costs, Cost of Money, Fees as well as well as Labor Rate Structures for Contractor Employees …. as do ALL DoD Contractors.

Yep … and an officer of the company has to sign all proposals to certify that FPRA was used and your proposals as well as contracted work are subject to investigation by local Defense Contracting Agency Office (Experts) as part of all negotiations.
Then there are FARR’s, which are Federal Contracting Regulations that ALL DoD contracts have INCLUDED by the Program Contracting Agency … which an officer of the company has to certify were complied with.
The FPRA negotiations as well as contracting negotiations are a very labor intensive exercise as over the 25+ years, contractors have had to show HISTORY of rates and similar work performed to justify rates and hours bid and/or expended.

#5–My dad kept meeting one certain man on the train…my dad was a conductor in between merchant marine trips. Several times. And then in the lobby of my spinster aunt’s apartment in Queens….again….that man, is how we ended up in the Canal Zone. Changed our lives….and later on…my Dad changed this gentleman’s life, too, for the better.

I can’t you how many examples in my own and in my children’s I could list.
Most recently, two years ago my daughter ran into a guy in a downtown Ft Worth office building whom she had known at university 30 ish years ago. Both divorced, they said their surprised hellos then went on their separate ways.
Months later he texted her at Christmas, they arranged a date, and are now married.
But here’s the remarkable point which affirms to me the truth of #5…
He became very ill, a liver transplant the only hope for extending his life. She has intimate connections with a surgical resident at UT Southwestern, so they were quickly able to access a superb transplant team…something it would have taken a longer time to, if at all, had they not met “serendipitously” on that day years ago. Too ill to live on his own, my first born has dedicated herself to caring for him and to negotiating the onerous road one has to take to effect such a procedure. I know you know, dear friend.
There are extremely hopeful things in the works at this moment I won’t go into…
Suffice it to say “random” is not a word one should ever use with God’s mysterious ways.
Mysterious to us? Yes…

Most local elections are conducted OFF-Cycle, i.e. on dates that do NOT include State and Federal Elections. turn out for those elections run well below 20% of potential voters and it is very easy to put together small “blocks” of voters and ballots to swing a local election (i.e. city government, county government, local justice positions, school boards ,et al) to the desired candidates. this has been especially crucial over the past 20 years, when flipping local party dominance.
THE NO ROGUE RULINGS ACT
Impeaching rogue anti-Trump judges like Boasberg, is a daunting, politically charged process, so Congressman Darrell Issa, came up with a less messy alternative, a bill called The No Rogue Rulings act, which would bar district court judges from
issuing nationwide injunctions, like the one Boasberg used to cripple Trump’s deportation of criminal illegal aliens.
Speaker, Mike Johnson, a former constitutional attorney, now supports the bill so it’s likely to be sent on to the Senate for enactment into law.
This bill makes a lot of sense to me because it provides a carte blanche solution to the problem that impeachment doesn’t solve, ie, even if Boasberg were to be impeached, there are a dozen other progressive judges looking to take his place in blocking Trump’s agenda however they can.
Are we going to impeach them all?
If the No Rogue Rulings bill becomes law, the question becomes moot!
Until the “law” is ruled unconstitutional by those same district court judges.

I completely agree with you. However, there is no chance of getting 14 Democrat Senators to go along with impeaching the very activist judges they likely installed. The same can be said for R senators that may have voted for these judges in the first place.
I will also point out that if the 2020 and 2022 elections had not been fraudulent, we would have had the Senate. The vast majority of FJBs radical judicial nominees (240+) would not have been confirmed.
The process is the punishment and the impeachment hearings can be used as a very public venue to expose Lawfare and this particular judge’s history of meddling/activism.

Remember Pelosi said “we have to pass the bill to find out what’s in it”!!! What’s needed is for Congress members, not their staff, to write the actual legislation to be voted on not lobbyists/special interest groups!!! But that will never happen!!!

When you die, the first thing social security does is claw back the current month’s check from the decedents’ account. In my dad’s case, the ink was not dry on the death certificate. Whether you die on the first or 30th of the month…(unless they changed the process).
I wouldn’t doubt that there have been glitches, but I doubt it’s enough to warrant the kind of ‘solutions’ they have in mind.

More evidence that this judge is just stalling for as long as he can. He gave the ACLU lawyers 6 days to respond, yet he wants answers from the Trump administration lawyers in just 2-3 days.
Deep dive into the case before Boasberg
Ultimately, it does not matter if this official “expressed doubts.” He has rightly been completely shut down, and his superiors should now squash the case entirely before he gets a chance to do further damage.
There should also be investigation into his and his family’s questionable financial links. Because, “this man doth protest too much …”
Maybe suggest Boasberg educate himself on the Executive authorities. And according to the last time state secrets came up (Smith v Trump) the Executive branch was king.
