As expected, the Democrats were ready to pounce when Trump intelligence officials appeared before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI). Almost as if their staff had pre-planned a series of questions to ask Tulsi Gabbard and Director John Ratcliffe.

The statement everyone needs to recite is that in 2017 the deep state used a hoax to remove Mike Flynn as National Security Advisor. This is no different. The answer to Bennett needs to be “this is not the first time you people have done this, and we’re not stupid”.
Sadly, they are stupid as they , AGAIN, walked into the trap.
Let’s hope it doesn’t have the same consequences as Flynn’s mistakes.

Flynn was set up by the FBI. Flynn wasn’t accused of having a conversation with Kislyak. He was accused of “lying to the FBI” about that conversation. The FBI met in advance of meeting with Flynn, ensured the White House Counsel was not informed, and the FBI strategized ways to slip their “1001 warning” into the interview so Flynn would not be suspicious.
We later learned that the interviewing FBI agents themselves, including Strzok, did not believe Flynn had lied to them. But he was prosecuted for lying anyway.
Then the FBI or someone else who wanted Flynn gone worked with VP Pence about the whole “lying” b.s.. It was all a setup to remove a National Security Advisor that the IC/Senate deemed a threat to their Stop Trump agenda.
I have zero doubt that this was a setup. Could it have been an honest mistake? I guess. But Occam’s Razor is that there’s a mole in the National Security Council because there’s ALWAYS a mole in the National Security Council. (Alex Vindman, for example)
The best thing Team Trump did was come right out and both acknowledge the Signal chat, call the accusations b.s., and then flip it right back on Goldberg to prove his claims. They should go one step further and point out what I wrote above (not the first time the IC/Senate has tried to get the Trump NatSec Advisor fired). Basically, “We are not playing by that rule book any more. Period. Stop trying to get our people fired by setting them up, or we will start launching criminal investigations to determine if you were involved.”
