long waiting to drive into the parking lot of the stadium which was also full of cars.

In the 1950’s I survived measels, mumps, whooping cough, chicken pox, and who knows what else.

My father worked at NASA (originally the NSA) from the early 60s into the Mid 80s and was part of every mission during that time. When he finally retired, he bemoaned that they had evolved from originating R&D and development to nothing more than a manager of contracts to Boeing/Raytheon et. al.

Had a once in a life time experience several years ago while camping on the beach on the then semi-private “pineapple “ island in Hawaii…part of a state educational hiking tour. It was December and we awaken to the news of the annual “gathering” of literally hundreds of dolphins in the cove. We quickly pushed rafts out several hundred feet into the cove and, with snorkeling masks on, hung on to the rafts for a long period having the thrill of watching pods/families or whatever you call them swimming. They were just as curious about us as we were them and circled us with their characteristic “ Smiles” and soft squeaking, chirping sounds. Our guides said it was part of an annual mating ritual and our timing could not have been more fortuitous. One of those experiences you never forget.
My Mom and I watched the landing yesterday and were so thrilled – and relieved – to see all went well –
later on last night, we watched the movie “The Dam Busters” – a movie about an engineer’s idea for bombing the dams in the Ruhr Valley that powered Germany’s war factories during WWII –
the movie started out in 1942 and the bombing missions used Lancasters – propellers – it was so fascinating watching that after watching the splashdown earlier.
I remember when Osama or whatever the hell his name was redefined the charter of NASA to ….reach out and help mooselum Countries with their technology….horsecrap…..
It was amazing and thrilling! One of those moments where Lee Greenwood’s song “God Bless the USA” popped into my head. Yes, I’m proud to be an American.

Whatever group or groups are behind the “Tesla riots” must be investigated, stopped, prosecuted, and imprisoned. They are the real definition of Domestic Terrorists. So Roberts claims we should not impeach judges over political differences.
Well, he’s sort of right, except Trump was impeached twice (but not convicted either time) over exactly that, and in both cases the predicate of alleged misconduct was, as we now know, a manufactured political lie.
What was the punishment for this? Nothing, of course. And I remind you that impeachment is a political process, not a judicial one, as I repeatedly pointed out during both of them in the myriad podcasts I put out as my “daily grind” of the time.
However, impeachment is very clearly, from the record all the way back to the start of this Republic, legitimately invoked and used when judges (who are the most-commonly impeached group) engage in corrupt practices, defined generally as rank violations of the governing laws and rules of the Court over their behavior.
Bribery, official misconduct and similar all fall into that category.
So does failure to recuse when they, or their direct family members, are beneficiaries of one side or another of a case before them, as the rules of the courts they sit upon require them to recuse under that circumstance.

What about those in assisted living? Those that do not have power of attorney? Great ideal but might be miss placed. Better to verify from the gov to the recipient. This could backfire.
There are currently provisions in the Social Security application process for an advocate to act on a persons behalf. Would not be hard to expand these to have all the ID Paperwork necessary for an advocate to present.
I did it for my Dad when he went to Assisted Living. I did his VA paperwork too.
Before they passed away, my Brother and I did the same thing for our parents, VA and SS.
I agreed to allow my brother to set up a trust as well as take on full power of attorney for their care that included all their property while I was physically their in home care giver for 6-months as I arranged for full time care, as their advocate.
Just need allot of patience and all the documents to make it work.
Also, my wife and I just completed our SS applications and all the advocate stuff was there if needed.
They still need to END SSI (Income Equalization) and Social Security Disability Payments. These are also huge sources of Fraud and abuse, even if applications are done in person.
Those are WELFARE Entitlement Handouts and not Benefits, which should be paid via a specific Federal Budget authorization line item in the federal Budget and not hidden under Social Security.

Think about this:
For every job A.I. robotics takes, mandate by law that the employers pay an unemployment contribution on the robot just like the employer pays for their human employees.
Just base the robots contribution on the jobs lost.
This should shore up federal unemployment funds AND the states unemployment authorities can look at mandating the same.
Mandate by law that the employers still have to pay 6.2% social security tax and 1.45% medicare tax to the federal government. Just like the employer pays for their human employees.
Only robots have no cap. They pay perpetually.
This should help shore up FICA & Medicare funds.
If an employer uses A.I. for anything else, then mandate the A.I. as a non-human employee and tax it as if were a human employee.
Now is the time to figure this out as we watch jobs go by the wayside.

“AI” is a computer PROGRAM that functions like any other Computer Program … make an input and get a response .. based on the input. That is how the software-firmware-middleware for every computer and I/T device functions.
So, where does one draw the line??? … and like every other definition … who gets to change it because experience says once money is involved with the definition (especially “TAXES”) that definition keeps sliding to COLLECT MORE.
Computers have been used to improve efficiency since at least the 1980’s … HUMANS were REPLACED at that time as that efficiency resulted in smaller of number of staff needed. The same goes for manufacturing, which has been adding automation since the 1970-80’s.
Granted there is a socioeconomic issue here but it is not so cut and dry. There would not have the advances our society had automation not been integrated. There needs to be balance struck … between business owners craving to cut costs and the need to have those same owners reacquire the social responsibility they once had before the “workers” adopted a free agent mentality with zero loyalty to their employers in the 1980’s. A key part to the foundation of US Industrial Might was actually the loyalty and bond between employer and worker that vaporized in the 1980’s.
Again where does one draw the line? … and … who defines the line? … there is a need to rekindle a bond that was broken long ago to strike the balance.
