If Chief Justice Roberts wants to minimize attacks on out of control appointed leftwing district court judges abusing their role and claiming to be able to overrule the elected President of the United States on management details that are clearly within his role as defined by the Constitution and the Federalist Papers then he should intervene and overrule these absurd power grabs. The Chief Justice can defend the Court by overruling bad judges before the Executive and Legislative Branches start acting against them. The burden is on the Chief Justice not the President.

If you run a web property you need to look into this. From the data roughly one third of the data you are processing and transmitting, and thus one third of your operating cost for said processing and transmission, may be consumed by robotic actors who are using that data to deliberately harm your operation, either by training AIs against your material or marketing directly against your operation to others, including if you sell physical or digital products, your direct competitors!
Nobody in their right mind would permit this sort of abuse if they knew about it but I’ll bet not one web operator in a hundred knows the scope of this — until I collected the data, analyzed it in full and then implemented the block, which does take a bit of work, it was certainly not clear to me that one third of the traffic volume was in fact these aggressive and harmful (to me) robotic “readers.”

Yes, I used to monitor my server logs for the bots and scrapers… and effectively blocked them all. The worst were the Google and Baidu spiders which, if blocked by a robots file, would ignore and continue their activities sucking the bandwidth out of my server (and thus my users). So, I blocked them all at the router level…. if they popped up another bot, I just blocked the entire range of IPs.
It does take a lot of research to find the culprit and its “root”. I also blocked entire Countries to prevent their spammers and spiders. (by the way, China has an ISP located in California!!!).
I was constantly getting warnings about bandwidth and my site would slow to a crawl… and I did upgrade once or twice. After spending time doing the above, I was able to successfully return my site to full usability and not have to spend more money 🙂
I watch my logs and pcap the traffic.
Much of the traffic is bots looking to index content that doesnt exist.
In the last week, a majority of packets have coming from UK, sweep probing tcp and udp ports, beating my bind service with malformed domains, and probing every possible vulnerability like RPC hooks and administrative comtrol point.
I remarked to Dear Wife yesterday that I am starting to really hate the brits.
I am thinking to reject all traffic that is ex-conus at the iptable level. (Uh, this is possibly why I find I need to drop my VPN to access more content now.)
ETA: late last week, one huge surge of probe attack traffic was routed through kiev…

We take our kids and their families on two big trips every year. One is always within the country, another is out of the country.

Not good news, but I see a lot of daylight between a judge interfering with firings of American federal workers, where there may be actual laws to be taken into account, and a judge telling the president he must bring back a planeload of foreign criminals.
That’s why federal workers belong to unions.
I imagine if it were honestly examined, a president wouldn’t be bound by union agreements made by his predecessor. Think how you could totally sabotage your incoming president, by the current president making last minute agreements with the unions that would handcuff the incoming president. I’ve never seen anything in the constitution that says the president’s powers are limited by whatever union agreements his predecessor made.
They just need to fire them under RIF rules. Every time a judge rules like this they should add another 10% to the cuts. So even more feds than planned get fired. The bureaucrats are all in on judicial overreach and overruling the will of the American people.

why oh why does Fox News have to have on the panel (with Bret Baier) that A-hole Scott Kelly (twin brother of Mark Kelly, the other A-hole).
I could have changed channels or not watched at all but my Mom was glued to it.

Scott Kelly said that it was true that the previous administration left the two astronauts in space. He said something like they needed them for operation of the space station. He brought the issue up. Everyone else jut wanted to talk about the return of the astronauts. Someone said that the Musk recovery vechicle was the best ever. Scott Kelly had to jump in and say it was good technology, but hadn’t gone around the moon or something like that. He made it political.
I blame FOX- they chose to have Kelly on and he made it political. Of course he made it political. His brother hates Musk and President Trump. FOX knew that and maybe encouraged him to make those comments.
The Kelly’s and FOX are disgusting! We just wanted to watch the return of the astronauts.
