Remember what President Trump did every time Kim Jong-un did something stupid? He hit Beijing with an economic hammer. ’17/’18 DPRK does stupid, Trump slaps Xi. It worked like a charm. Xi stopped influencing Kim, Kim and Trump became friends.
Fast forward to 2025. The EU Commission does a big stupid, Trump hits Macron with an economic hammer.

Why this approach?
See below.
If Europe is stupid enough to keep giving President Trump justification to do something with ancillary geopolitical benefits, President Trump is going to take that pitch to the bleachers every time.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!
Is that like FAFO?
Very much so, yes, indeedy!
Yes indeed!
TDS makes you do stupid things.

Good morning. I get notices when they have a new one. Haven’t received any new notices, since their last release.

lol Headlines Trump taxes the rich!
200%! Wow!
Doesn’t Japan have a 750 % tariff on American cars??
Maybe, but Japanese leadership on the surface at least has been extremely respectful of President Trump.
The previous one, a close friend of your President was assassinated.
Cheers!
I read the Japanese news daily (Asahi Shimbun), and last week, Obama was in Japan receiving an award from the Japanese gov’t.
I think Japan hedges it’s bet by playing both sides of the street.
A polite face demands that.
Doofus’ never learn – FAFO!
And we all get to sit back, watch and enjoy 🙂
I need a drink. Make mine American!
Stags Leap will do just fine.
Or John Rich’s Redneck Riviera
The Honey Apple is great!!
I’ll have to try it. Thanks

Alaska has some fine, locally-produced, gins.
So much to choose from, so little time.
President Trump ————— In a class of his own: Rope-A-Doper-Supreme!
That’s not even rope a dope. That’s a crushing right hook.
In his campaign speeches he often talked about Macron dropping tariffs on US products when Trump threatened a tariff on French wine.
200% is way beyond what he threatened back then.
It’s also funny when the media claims President Trump is starting a ” trade war ”
Ha! It’s not a “war”
when he completely crushes the intended target !!!
This is just euros hitting Trump first, for show.
He’ll hit them if they block any Ukraine settlement, and they know it. So they went first.
Transparent. And childish. The outcome will be the same.
First the Eurowienies complain, then they do what President Trump wants…and not just the euros,…Mexicos President, Canadas Ford,…they all try to fake being alpha, just before the piss themselves, and roll over exposing their belly.
Exactly like dogs..
Gosh I love that man for standing up for our country. Wish I was shocked that we don’t see more politicians like this but when they are all eating from the globalist trough I guess it makes sense.
These pols forget history.
They never learned history in the first place. Their arrogant ignorance is a learning disability.
To be fair to these freeloaders, we have had 80 years of the USA shoveling them and many other nations (including “friends”) much of our tax dollars. We have been treating them like they are superior to us and that we have been paying them tribute to them.
History is that we have been in an economic abusive relationship with much of the world. There is nothing an abuser hates more than the abuse victim to grow a spine and leave them.
They want to think that the system is like how it has been for 80 years.
Perfect description: “History is that we have been in an economic abusive relationship with much of the world. There is nothing an abuser hates more than the abuse victim to grow a spine and leave them.”
Thank you!
The best part is the President doesn’t even care about giving other world leaders a way to back down and save face, like calling them up and stating the consequences. He just very publicly goes right to it and they ultimately have to back down very publicly and show just stupid their policies are and how inept they are as leaders. The definition of FAFO.
If Teddy Roosevelt’s motto was “Speak softly and carry a big stick”, President Trump’s is “Speak loudly and carry a giant Sequoia.”
“I speak loudly, and carry a bigger stick…and I use it too!” President Trump is using the “Yosemite Sam” technique. I approve 100%. The EU is no Bugs Bunny.
In this scenario I see a strong Trump-Bugs correlation. And with all of their rootin’, shootin’, tootin’ and mouthing off, the EU is doing a great job of playing the part of Yosemite Sam, how was always being outsmarted by the clever Bugs.
Bugs Bunny was voiced like a New Yorker. “Bugs Bunny has a Flatbush accent, an equal blend of the Bronx and Brooklyn dialects.”
They try to portray him as a bully, mean, tough guy but…
Actually he is not the bully in this, but we have been bullied and he is standing up to those who shoved our noses in it for decades. We never had leaders who stood up for us, as we always believed they would.
Has been quite the wake up call.
That’s just uncivilized….Total Wine here I come…….
….All kidding aside….CUT THE UMBILICAL CORD….NOW.
I’m hoping that what we are witnessing is Fate having steered Great Men to each other’s orbit (sparing one to do so) at this serendipitous point in world history, …. and the hoofbeats of AI are heard and recognized as the harbinger of a familiar World no more, necessitating and facilitating Great Ideas and Great Acts …..and GREAT CHANGE.
Oh, good! Time for another Whiskey Rebellion!
Exactly – I am going out this afternoon and buy some American whiskey maybe a lot….after all its almost time for another Trump led weekend in the USofA.
I need some good Bourbon. It seems like a good time to support our fantastic Kentucky makers!
Hardest hit… Nancy & Gavin.
Actually, Nancy and Gavin are probably quietly cheering this move, as it will probably boost sales of their California wines!
The ones with 600% the allowable amount of arsenic like Sutter Home? Newsflash, it ain’t just the white Zinfandel grapes! I wouldn’t drink or smoke anything from Commiefornia! Their weed and wine are poisonous!
That’ll get the French people motivated to get slaughtered to protect the West Bank of the Dnieper in Ukraine … that, and another wave of Muslims and Africans
dejavu all over again!
Trump is the only Politician that is not owned by anything or anyone other than his own desires for the US and its citizens. Every other President would wait to see what their owners wanted to do and how to respond. Not Trump! I know this as merely a spectator of current political events – so why doesn’t the professional politicos know this especially after the first Trump term.
They are so beholden to their owners they cannot think through their actions. This is almost to easy for Trump. Its just silly on their part.
As long as they leave the authentic Parmesan cheese alone! No good substitute….
(If not, I am willing to “take one for the team”)
/[mild] sarc
Deplorable_Infidel: $16.99/lb for Parmesan Reggiano, at Trader Joe’s. Raw milk cheeses (Parmesan, along with French Comte and Swiss Gruyere) are pricey, indeed. We’ve been on a raw milk cheese kick for a while, now.
Yes!
Raw milk cheeses, healthy as well as tasty
😋
Parmigiano Reggiano – that’s the good stuff!
Again, I can take one for the team, or splurge if the price goes up a bit!
This tariff war has been ongoing for the last eight years, at least.
Europe only imports about 2.5 billion of spirits from the US. The US imports over 12 billion spirits from Europe.
Now that 12 billion of imports will be recouped by American spirit manufacturers. Total win for America.
https://www.distilledspirits.org/news/u-s-spirits-exports-hit-record-high-in-2023-driven-by-american-whiskeys/
Trump the non-alcohol drinker laughs while Devin Nunes the winemaker grins with glee.
Don Jr is probably pleased too.
Trump Winery in VA…
This will be great for the US whisky market.
I doubt it. Distillers have taken out Yuge loans the last few years to expand in the World market. Suddenly the rug is yanked out.
Who is going to pay those loans ? The King of Bankruptcy? No.
All the costs will be born by You the consumer.
Aint trade wars great?

Bullpucky. Increased US sales will offset.
Us sales are pretty much maxed out. Very little competition from foreign distillers in the Whiskey market.
That is why all the American distillers
arewere expanding into the world market.12 billion dollars from foreign distillers is little competition to you?
Hmmm. Here is a rabbit hole to go down. SBA. Prudent Lenders. Pursuit Brewery loans 5000$ to 5million for oversea expansion, US Government Economic Development Administration. But wait! There’s more!
Yes, I’ll shift from single-malt Speysides back to bourbon without even blinking.
Europe has always had a protectionist racket going on. And another one of your fibs. Trump never declared bankruptcy.
President Trump Is the King of Bankruptcy.
All 3 of his hotels he built in Atlanta went Bankrupt.
The Taj Mahal is his greatest bankruptcy achievement. Going broke 6 months after opening.

The AP? Really? Do you know how many lies they’ve been caught in? Or do you even care?
A reorg is not a bankruptcy…..
Ok here are some facts that shed a better light from a trusted source. A bankruptcy Lawyer.
https://www.lucasruffinglaw.com/ruffing-law-bankruptcy-blog/2018/1/2/president-trumps-bankruptcies-just-the-facts
Pretty sure you didn’t even read your own source, because it agrees with me.
Many companies use the protection of Chapter 11 to reorganize debt when unexpected markets happen. It’s simply a tool that businesses use in order not to go out of business, you know, so they don’t actually go bankrupt.
Business owners use Chapter 11 frequently. Major companies have used this as a way to restructure… If you don’t like the the laws on the books; Change them. ( quote~ PDJT)
I am not arguing the laws. I posted articles from both POV. Good and bad. What is the deal?
I was told president Trump never declared bankruptcy.
I simply pointed out the fact That our President has had 6 very Large business failures/ bankruptcies. In majority Trump owned businesses with his name displayed on them in bold letters. Bankruptcies, which caused him to loose all or most of them. On some he did retain a small interest.
So when you call your credit card company to ask them to lower your credit rate, that means you’re a total failure in life?
I think you’re overplaying your hand.
“I was told PDJT never declared bankruptcy ” He has talked about his bankruptcies to the media many times. Kinda hard to keep it a secret. Major Banks, Auto industry, etc, has filed for chapter 11. I’m not buying what you’re trying to sell..
As I recall, he gave Ivana the Taj Mahal in the divorce. She ran it her way and it went downhill after that.
Who knows, the drop in value may have had something to due with asset valuation during the divorce. Meaning if you show the casino is losing money it has less of a value in the asset collection. You do not want overly inflated assets in a divorce proceeding. Also have to look at the overall economy during that time in the 80’s early 90’s and if other casinos on the Boardwalk also failed.
Fake news.
Please list what you are saying is fake news so i may respond.

Clean up on Aisle 3!
And that’s out of how many businesses?
Besides, almost everything in Atlantic City went to shit.
There’s an old saying attributed to Thomas Edison when he failed hundreds of time to make a practical electric light bulb, only for his lab staff to succeed.
“I’ve learned…” as I recall “…a thousand ways how to not make a lightbulb.”
Sometimes failure is a greater teacher than success. Success might have occurred randomly.
Not American customers, euro customers.
I guess that’s why in VA they have to have lotteries and sale restrictions on quantities of whisky because there is not enough demand.
King of Bankruptcy? Seriously, AP News?
Perhaps you should go post on the WAPO or Politico boards where the clapping seals will love your rantings.
Clean up on Aisle 3!
Macaroon is such a backstabbign clown.
It’s the end of globalism as we know it (and I feel fine).
Deal with the individual European countries. Ignore the puppets in Brussels.
The individual countries in Europe that signed onto the EU gave up the sovereignty long ago to the EU bureaucrats. They have elections for show but everyone takes their marching orders from the unelected bureaucrats.
And the minute one of them “breaks ranks” (because the new reciprocal tariff arrangement is devastating their economy) and so makes a bi-lateral trade deal with the U.S., the EU is dissolved, caput, finished….
I follow closely, but this seemed to come out of nowhere. Anyone know what precipitated this tariff on our whiskey?
He chose whiskey because its made down South, ie by Trump supporters.
And his mommy told him to.
He’ll
retreatback off after he’s done grandstanding. My guesses are: standing strong with their Canadian globalist brother and sister leaders, reciprocal tariffs that start on April 2, or standing strong with Ukraine warmongering even though Bad Orange Man wants the killing to stop.
Trump is playing Whack a Mole with these freeloaders. I guess that today it was the EU’s turn to pop its head up and “stick it to the Bad Orange Man”. They thought that if the collectively “fought Trump” then no one would get singled out for a Whack.
Get in line, Macron.
I am truly tired of the Euroweenies. They are gone anyway. They absolutely detest Trump and his policy of America First. It is time to let them go.
Like Zelensky and the Ukraine, the EU doesn’t have the cards.
American wines and champagne is just fine.
Drink Jack Daniels. Problem solved.
If they survive. JD is another company caught in debt. Fueled by expanding into a world market caught flat footed by Trump’s trade war.
https://www.investopedia.com/jack-daniels-maker-brown-forman-stock-tumbles-eu-retaliatory-tariffs-11695687
Their stock price is at the same exact place it was in Trump’s first term. During Trump’s first term, it went up, and then it started declining when Biden took office.
Having run Jack Daniel’s to Canada in the 80s to one of my bosses, people in EU who want to drink Jack & other brands will buy it. Besides, the Muslim crowd doesn’t drink anyway.
They are pulling JD by the caseload in Canada now. Nobody wants it. Soon the same in Europe and the world.
Starting trade wars and Making people hate us and boycott our products is no way to foster cooperative world trade.
We’re not trying to make friends.
They’ve been our “friends” for a long time now, and yet, they screw us over every chance they get. What kind of friend is that?
And cooperative world trade? That’s what we have now, and the reason why almost everything that’s sold in the U.S. is made somewhere else.
And why almost all of it is crap.
Let’s get back to American made, American quality, with American pride.
They hated us anyway just acted nice as they took advantage of us for years.
As long as the problems were never addressed just keep being nice.
No way can this type of economic abuse be acceptable.
We finally have a President who will protect the USA and that is worth losing a few fair weather friends over.
These loans originated from where? Trying to find answers to this question could be revealing. Places to see where connecting these dots reveal: SBA. Prudent Lenders. Pursuit Brewery loans 5000$ to 5million for oversea expansion, US Government Economic Development Administration.
The beatings will continue until morale improves! 🙂
Note the troll to massively P O the French……calling U. S. Sparkling “Champagne”. The ultimate slap at their wine industry. Very well constructed.
I did not see your post, spot on.
Good.
The less winos the better.
It’s a smart move. Now how long will it take for American producers to lower their prices for the products they sell here? As one example, I’ve never seen Kentucky bourbon prices so high (almost tripled for some brands), and the local retailers seem to have no explanation for it. It can’t be due only to higher costs for energy.
Dont expect lower prices. Just cuts in production.
And what do you base that on?
Distilled spirits take a long time to produce because they must be aged. So when producing them you have to anticipate future markets and adjust production. . Now Without exports, all that excess Whisky can just sit there in barrels and not go bad, just get better. So distillers can cut production until they sell the excess. Then adjust production for a smaller market. They will not have to drop prices. In fact they may raise them to cover the added expenses.
I take it you’ve never actually distilled spirits.
It only takes a day to distill.
But either way, you didn’t answer the question.
Uh, lil more than that. Ever hear of ageing or Bondhouses?
I’ve aged all sorts of things. Aging just affects the taste. Liquors don’t have to be aged. They’re potent the moment you make them, and drinkable.
Aging just affects the taste, and liquor never goes bad, so it doesn’t really matter how much you make because there’s no expiration date on them. Either way, you still haven’t answered the question.
Whiskey and all other spirits are aged after distillation. It is not distilled bottled and sent to market like Moonshine and the rot gut whisky you must drink.
For good Whiskey the standard is 90 days. Longer aging for better quality whiskey.
Because of the long time lag between filling the barrel and final product. Production quotas must be anticipated for demand and adjusted at the time of distillation for future sales.
Instability in demand like what is happening now. Really messes things up and cuts deeply into profits.
“You could take your new make off the still, put it in the barrel, immediately dump it, and now you’re entitled to call it whiskey,” says Reigler. Douglas further adds, “Some will interpret the law as the whiskey that passes through a barrel, others will say that it needs to sit in a barrel for at least an hour.”
https://www.foodandwine.com/does-whiskey-need-to-be-aged-8696911
And you still haven’t answered the question.
“the long time lag between filling the barrel and final product. Production quotas must be anticipated for demand and adjusted at the time of distillation for future sales.”
I am not an expert, but I do not know any distillers that reuse barrels. They have a team of craftsmen known as Coopers making them by hand.
They are not inexpensive.

This flip flopping is embarrassing. First news that Canadians would have to be fingerprinted at the border and then just as quickly that decision is reversed. SMH

Could be. The markets are way overheated. If a correction helps MAGA, good. Rolling over the debt cheap is fine.

The US “champagne” business!🤣. Nothing gets those Frogs hoppin’ mad faster than co-opting some silly wine technicality!! Excellent job Mr. President! I don’t give a fig if every booze pusher went out of business tomorrow!
If you haven’t noticed, only the UK is not responding with counter tariffs. This is because this is a fight between British Globalists and Trump, over US sovereignty. When Trump says that he will make Canada a 51st state, he is threatening to take a colony away from Britain. When Trump imposes tariffs on the EU, he is reversing the flow of wealth the UK needs now to fight Russia. Similarly, when Trump demands the EU to spend more on defense. Or when he is threatening the UN. Geopolitically – Trump is cornering the British worldwide banking cartel and the entire system it has created.
At war with “the City of London”, which many believe to be “the man behind the curtain”.
Britain is no longer part of the EU technically speaking
Much to the Starmertrooper’s chagrin, no?
Bleachers? Heck. Remote parking.
Trump strikes a “Reggie” pose, flips the bat, and laughs his a$$ off as he SLOWLY trots around the bases!
Perhaps a different baseball reference next time?
I know Reggie. He is certainly not worthy of comparison to Trump in any way.
As a kid I was a big Reggie fan (A’s). He is an idiot and a bit of a race baiter to be sure.
But in their chosen professions, both are badasses!
“Mr. October” was actually a pretty bright guy; certainly not the stereotypical dumb jock.
Reggie was “Mr. October” so in a baseball sense.
Yeah. Good comparison.

Epic.
I was thinking Babe’s called shot in the ‘32 World Series. But Trump would never tell anyone what he’s going to do.
