During a recent podcast with Winston Marshall, Harriet Hageman said that the Republicans essentially intend to take DOGE’s report, slap a preamble to the face, and pass the recommendations into law.
Heck, that’s the closest they’ll ever get to constructing a budget.

Can you give a hint as to contents? We are all triaging information.
OK sure – I’ll admit it’s a lot to take in in one sitting, but… it IS ALL RELEVANT, because mainly, Marshall is pressing Lindsay to define the meanings of the terms & the intentions & methods & ideologies that are in the cultural maelstrome right now… before we discuss the merits or lack thereof.
He says in his view Trump is culturally unique in this time/place/setting; he’s taking the best from disparate ‘camps’ past & present, forwarding what’s beneficial and jettisoning what’s not.
Lindsay does a good job of contrasting one worldview from another with their similarities & differences – he’s studied the left/progressive movement in depth & there are distinct factions; differences/overlaps often hidden via language re-definitions, new terms, re-branding, morphing, etc. of what makes up the cacophony of information, narratives, sub-narratives, stated objectives/actual objectives of conservatives’ opposition.
I really thrive on knowing what someone’s definition of word & phrase actually is – speaking the same language or not matters – so I sat through it and will revisit (maybe in segments) to better integrate Lindsay’s clarifications.
He articulated why some in these here Tree branches aren’t terribly accepting of Tucker Carlson and I agree with him about what Carlson is doing… I don’t think it’s nefarious I think it’s reactive rather than thoughtfully responsive from a very well-rounded experience – he’s literally been in politics& media his entire life.
Caveat: James Lindsay says he is not a Christian AND NEVER THE LESS he argues convincingly FOR the general necessity & benefits for Humanity of Christianity on Human levels below full-scale Faith/Belief.
He admits what he doesn’t know/isn’t sure about/hasn’t examined closely and he imparts his intention to look closer & know more if/when the two men continue their discussion of where we’re going from here.

The following is a very interesting read on the background and history of the 16th Amendment and court cases cited actually explain why the Federal income Tax Code is so complicated … congress and executive Branch seem to be enacting rules to dance around relate issues with other Articles and Amendments to the Constitution as well as help the very Rich Benefactors with financially favorable tax loopholes and exemptions.

Of note .. the 16th Amendment addresses FEDERAL Level Taxes and NOT State nor Local Taxes. It is on this point as well as existing Prohibitions in the Constitution vs the types of Taxes States can enact, is where the arguments in this video about the “legality” of Property Taxes at STATE and LOCAL levels falls apart. There is that pesky 10th Amendment thingy about rights reserved to the States.
Claims of fraudulent and abusive behavior at State and Local levels are a completely separate discussion worth having … for example; the State of TX has laws that limit the increase of Property Taxes … year to year …. but after one makes reductions for the Over 65 and Homestead Provisions … by golly the taxes magically seem to increase right up to the State allowed Limits. Then there are the municipal utility district (MUD) provisions … for example .. the city of McKinney, TX has purposely delayed incorporating new housing developments into the City of McKinney and has charged those areas 2x the Incorporated Municipal Tax rate … they use the new Housing developments as a cash cow for up to 10 years. Remedy vs these actions needs to start in the State Courts and work their way to the Federal Courts to be resolved.

Read the article I referenced … the 16th Amendment was finally ratified by 36+ States …. on February 3, 1913. A total of 42 States ratified the amendment by March 7, 1913.
4 States opposed ratification and 2 States chose to NOT consider the issue of ratification.
Read some real history rather than the current “modified” version of history…
Get yourself some high school text books from the 1940’s and/or 1950’s and read some REAL history instead of the modern “cleaned up” versions…
Secretary of State Knox committed fraud when he declared the 16th Amendment “ratified” in 1913.
There were only 48 states in 1913; the amendment needed to be ratified by 36 states to be valid…
Knox had only received responses from 42 states in 1913, yet he contended that 38 states ratified the “amendment”…
The states of New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Utah and Conn. rejected the “amendment” outright, which left Knox with responses from only 38 states and he needed 36 of those states to vote to ratify the amendment.
There were legal problems with other states, including Oklahoma, Kentucky, Texas, Louisiana, et al, who were among the 12 states which violated their state Constitutions when voting to ratify the “amendment”…
Do a little simple research and you will find that the 16th “Amendment” was never ratified by the required 36 states.
The fact remains … 38 states DID ratify the amendment by 3 Feb 2013.
Math says 42 Total States Ratifying + 4 States Opposing + 2 States Abstaining = 48 States
Do simple research … those legal issues were NEVER prosecuted or were resolved and were just issues in somebody’s mind.

Another twist of irony in the Balkans … it was the intervention of Russian Troops on the ground that actually enabled the stopping of the violence.

I don’t give a rat about any of this BS … all I know is that the parents of the soccer teams I currently coach and coached in the past could only make practice between 6:00 and 7:30 pm. Daylight savings gives (gave) me the daylight needed to properly train my players.
Same went for my girls when they played outdoor sports and I was the parent fretting over practice times.

If the agency doesn’t, then it’s on the business owner. Businesses either need to require such certification to cover themselves – or they need to do it themselves. Require whomever does the certification to keep on file copies of all documentation.
