Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years

Maps fascinated me as a kid. Reading one is fast becoming a lost art. Those of us who have accurate maps and the ability to cipher them will be in high demand when it all goes dark.

globes and encyclopedias were always a favorite of mine. I studied the human body in the Encyclopedia Britannica on my own at home. I did the same with the globe.
One of the doctors I see has an exam room that has an entire wall mural of a world map. Not only is it fascinating, it certainly is a smart ploy to give the waiting patient something to do.
We gave two large (4′ x 6′) laminated maps to our favorite B&B in Virginia to put in their large game room. One of the US and one of the world. Everyone staying there for the past 14 years has had fun reading them as well as sticking a colored pin from where they reside. It is also a great conversation starter for the guests.

Some people like it light in the morning “so the kids can go to school in the morning light” and some people like the light in the evening during the short winter days so that commuters have a little bit more light to drive home.
In the hot Vegas summers I would prefer to postpone sunrise a little bit before the temperatures soar. But in the winter I do not really enjoy it getting so dark so soon. So neither works for me but I will get over my disappointment.

Before P Trump’s Dairy comments, I thought Canada was neither importing nor exporting milk due to the Marketing Board controls focusing on local consumption only, but I found some stats that prove that’s not true. The amounts are very small compared to major global milk suppliers like the USA:
“The 5 biggest suppliers of milk on global markets ranked by dollar value are New Zealand, Germany, Netherlands, USA and Belgium. Combined, those major milk suppliers accounted for over half (56.3%) of international milk sales in 2023.” I was surprised that Canadian milk was being exported at any level but the amount is trivial:
“2023—Canada exported $15 M of milk with $13.5 M going to the USA, $948 K to the UAE etc…If Canada has a 250% tariff why did the milk rich USA buy any Canadian milk or worse export a larger amount to Canada. “In 2023, Canada imported $69.7 Million of milk becoming the 26th largest importer of Milk in the world. Milk was the 618th most imported product in Canada. The USA was the largest importer of milk to Canada at $65.1 million followed by the Netherlands ($1.98 million); UAE ($1.17 Million); UK-$692 thousand etc.
If these figures are accurate, what the “heck” is going on in with all the angry rhetoric about “Canada ripping off the USA”. If the USA managed to become Canada’s only source of milk after its dairy industry was devastated would it be a great victory for the USA or a pyrrhic victory?
Just as I finished this outline, the 2024 milk numbers were added to the link below. Still low numbers:
“Overview In November 2024—Canada‘s Milk exports accounted up to C$1.43M and imports accounted up to C$3.15M, resulting in a negative trade balance of C$1.72M. Between November 2023 and November 2024 the exports of Canada‘s Milk have increased by C$82.4k (6.13%) from C$1.34M to C$1.43M, while imports decreased by C$-5.75M (-64.6%) from C$8.9M to C$3.15M.” Compared to the USA’s entire economy this is trivial and not a major source of harm to the USA or a Big Rip-Off as Trump has called it. (Note-Millions of gallons of milk are wasted or dumped into drains every year by Canada due to the controls.

In President Trump’s first term, Kris Kobach was working on election integrity (mostly voter rolls) but he had no subpoena power and DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen pretty much threw him under the bus then backed over him just to make sure.
Learn from early mistakes and revisit that project. Might get better results from DHS Secretary Noem.

The newly disclosed figure of 2.34 billion metric tons of rare earth minerals found southwest of Wheatland by American Rare Earths Inc. could dwarf in size the 1.2 million metric ton estimates in northeastern Wyoming that one of its competitors claimed was one of the biggest discoveries in the world.

I included it only because I was listing the top four countries AND as a comparison with the other three in the top four, but I can see why it was easy to misinterpret.
Furthermore, rare-earth deposits are NOT simply mined themselves. They are recovered as a byproduct of mining iron-ore which is a major investment.
You don’t just dig a hole and find rare-earth deposits!
Lithium is in underground brine in the Smackover formation. Easy enough to access.
I don’t think that is why he wants to be there. I think he wants business there as a buffer between Ukraine and Russia. Zelensky and his merry men would be constantly tying to start again.
Unless EVs become fully chargeable in ten minutes and travel 800 kms on a charge they are basically town cars like golf carts are in gated villages and parts of Florida. This stuff is all being subsidized by taxpayer money. Until the more efficient fuels are scarce they are a non starter.
Now, when “fossil” fuels become very scarce we will not be able to make any ICE vehicle or EV vehicles.
