Squandering the nation’s wealth and economy by sending billions and billions of dollars to a war that people very quickly came to understand that we caused and that we were responsible for, causing the slaughter of millions of people on both sides thanks to congressional Warpigs and the military industrial complex.

There are hundreds of other problems, some we are just finding out about thanks to President Trump turning DOGE loose. If you take one gigantic problem, for example their push for the invasion on our southern border, and see if you can find a coherent answer/plan that they ever submitted to the American public. You can’t. It’s because nothing they want to do resonates any longer with Americans.

Ray McGovern has said one of the main issues with CIA is they have merged the Operations (i.e. regime change) division with the Analyst division. So the Operations people come up with a mission to say, not allow Georgescue to be elected in Romania, and all the analysts assigned to the desk covering Romania are then expected to produce intel that supports the mission. If any analyst comes up with anything inconvenient, this is career-threatening to the analyst.

The Operations division came straight out of the merger with OSS and Gehlen’s East European spy network when Dulles first created the CIA. OSS’ mission per Churchill was to “set Europe ablaze.” Then when the paperclip Nazi’s came to the US, a lot of them wound up in the operations division as well. Hence you have things like the Gladio network in the 60’s, on and on to this present day.

So why do you even need Operations people in an intelligence agency? Sure, you need people overseas who can recruit and manage networks, and you need penetration agents for special missions like smuggling people across borders, etc.

But why not completely delete the Ops division from the CIA and give it to JSOC? CIA has analysts only, and their job is to tell the truth, and if they are ever caught telling their superiors what they want to hear instead of the actual facts, they get fired. If someone needs an Ops person for a mission, they go to JSOC which has a new division dedicated to spycraft and spies, and they provide the resource. But the tasking is purely based on analytical facts, never on politics. Which is what happens now.
