No, he’s not on the wrong tree. He’s on the massively inefficient and most likely highly fraudulent branches of the tree. Fixing that would save, according to a GAO study which “examined instances of fraud between fiscal years 2018 and 2022 and concluded that the federal government could lose between $233 billion and $521 billion annually to fraud. The most conservative estimate of $233 billion in fraudulent payments per year means fraudsters stole at least $1.165 trillion from taxpayers over the five-year period studied.”
You are referring to the trunk of the tree which appropriates the funds. Stopping that would require fixing our bought government which would require the elimination of lobbying by corporations which, due to the failure of the founders to distinguish between natural humans and artificial ones called corporations in our founding documents, have the SCOTUS confirmed right of “free speech” represented by campaign donations made via lobbying.

I so agree with you regarding corporations! Smart people need to rethink how business can take advantage of the benefits of incorporating while eliminating their weaknesses in accountability as well as the ease in co-opting the boards.

At first I was against the 5000 dollars proposed to be given to American Citizens. But I have changed my mind. If this massive spending bill passes. I will gladly take my $5000. I can do better with it than the government can.

DOGE needs to keep attacking the corrupted branches of the executive … however, you have make a most crucial point.
DOGE also has to focus on the Congressional root that is a major source of the corruption. Unfortunately the congressional critters are safe from being directly fired but there are actions DOGE can take in the form of recommendations and findings … that “may” put pressure on them in 2026.
DOGE actions v/v Congress:
Analyze ALL Budget BILLS …
for math errors and tax as well as national debt impacts alongside OMB
for direct waste and duplication
for back sliding that uses back door appropriations to undo current DOGE actions
for language that ALLOWS Reprogramming of Authorized Funds
for accountability language
for scab on appropriations hidden in line items
for legislation NOT related to funding … that belongs in a separate BILL.
The President needs to be willing to go PUBLIC with these findings and use these findings as part of bully pulpit to get his way on the budget wars and as part of his endorsement criteria for 2026.
Maybe even consider analysis of non-funding BILLS for financial impacts and maybe branch analysis linking them to Constitutional issues that need to addressed. essentially also supports VETO assessments by the Office of the President.
I’m hoping that whenever DOGE inevitably stumbles across verifiable evidence of corruption, they notify DOJ and Pam Bondi does the right thing.

The 4th Amendment is, in theory, a defense against the surveillance state. But the 4th Amendment may not sufficiently address the kind of nebulous intrusion that surveillance technology/AI will acccomplish.

Without an explicit articulation in law of a digital bill of rights, the 4th Amendment will likely not be able to withstand the ubiquity and likely tyranny of the surveillance state. The electronic environment will be like the air we breath. We will be able to keep our “papers” and secure physical spaces, but those are increasingly mere appendages of our digital financial and information lives.
I don’t see any member of Congress addressing this issue.
Seems clear to me, “papers and effects” covers it all.
To be secure in their homes, persons, papers and effects is clear language, and everyone knows what it means especially lawyers.

Alright caught up on everything and have recovered from CPAC. It was a great experience and the atmosphere was in the clouds. With the Trump win, everyone was smiling in a good mode. I can understand why people are so pumped at the Trump rallies. No need for paid performers like the Dems.
Prices for the tickets ranged from $95 for general admission to like 15K for everything. Entry level prices were about 400 for Reagan dinner.
Other than Trump, the best speakers were Tom Homan for me. He talks like I feel. It was fun to be in the main room when Senate Jim Banks announced that Patel was in. We knew it, but him saying he cast a vote for him got the crowd whipped up. It was fun.
Nigel was very memorable. Sounds like he is coming back! Elon and Javier Milei made Thurs night a lot of fun. Gotta love Chainsaw! Elon nailed it by saying Freedom is priceless. Said America is the good guy.
Bannon followed. He was everywhere and was broadcasting his show form the general room.
Was looking forward to seeing John Eastman. Glad to catch me. Still need to see his Documentary. Viva Frie interview is a great starting point for him which I saw before CPAC. It was good to see Julie Kelly I heard the lunch with Mollie Hemingway was great She picked up a new bunch of followers.

He’s running around the country begging sheriffs to house illegals in their jail. The mission is deportation, not housing illegals, feeding illegals, providing medical care… etc etc etc. Housing illegals in local jails is worse than ICE detention centers – it’s an accountant’s utopia. How many illegals where in the county jail for how long and what was the cost of each, etc. Then there’s the auditors… pissing away money left and right on anything other than the mission: deportation. He’s a bureaucrat touting bureaucrat “solutions”

They need to HOLD the illegals somewhere secure as they arrange for transportation. Would you rather they just chained them up under a bridge somewhere? Set them loose and ask them to report for their deportations?
Logistics are a factor in this operation.
Time and money spent on anything other than transporting the illegal out of the country is time and money wasted.
The only logistical consideration is transportation capacity and speed, both of which should be Homan’s focus.
Also, in case you have forgotten, congress reduced the number of beds they have available to hold the illegals… which is the justification Biden used to parole them into the country.
ALSO, they need MONEY to do all this….
We don’t need beds, we need transportation. Housing them means you have insufficient transportation capacity.
Tom Homan is an excellent choice for this mission…. because he has done this job for decades and he is pi**ed off!
If you think he isn’t doing a good job, how exactly would you do it differently? Please take into consideration ALL the impediments involved in completing the mission, and list your solutions.

His priorities are mistaken. Deportation is the mission, not warehousing.
When illegals are captured bring them to an airport (or ship, bus, train, etc) for deportation, don’t bring them to a detention center.
Then send your resume to President Trump and let him know that you could do a MUCH better job than a veteran of Border Patrol.
Apply the JIT idea. Carry minimal inventory. Detention is inventory. Detention is inefficient, a waste of money, and contrary to the mission: delivering illegals out of the country. Efficient deportation depends on improved transportation capacity and speed, not increased warehouse space. Homan is focused on warehouse space. His gruff manner doesn’t compensate for his mistaken priorities. Unless things change we’re not going to get the deportation numbers needed.
His plan is just more of the same, he’s a bureaucrat living in the past. You shouldn’t be shaking the pom-poms for him.
You do know that deportations are happening every single day right? Did you also know that those on the way here are turning back?

They are basically covering disputes of legal interpretations between lower courts about interpreting how to apply some laws; mostly to do with criminal defendants and things like that. They were just too wordy for me to deal with on this fine Monday morning but the link provided will bring one to the Supreme Court’s website and can read to one’s pleasure the various disputes and questions before the court (by clicking the ? for the questions and the notebook symbol to read the jibber-jabber).
Personally am simply tee-d off at the court for slouching its duty to deal with the abuse of power by lower courts against the sitting President with their various TRO’s so until the Supreme Court steps up and does its job, could care less what they do or say.
