The one thing in that speech that I’d challenge Sachs on is where he says ending the war is not a MORAL issue for Trump… only the politics of “carry a loser” is at play. I think Sachs’ viewpoint is that of somebody who understands how the U.S. Foreign Policy Establishment operates, how it transcends presidential administrations, etc., etc…. and he seems to be grossly overlooking Trump’s moral positioning wrt. the U.S. War Machine and its impacts. It’s NOT just about economics, politics, etc…
Seems to me Sachs is ASSUMING there is no moral component on Trump’s part, despite what Trump has said repeatedly about why the war needs to end, because real morality (not the manufactured/fake kind you find on Cable News) has simply never been a factor in Foreign Policy Establishment circles. “Why would Trump be any different than anyone else over the past 40 years?”.
However, I think once the peace process is finished and everything is sorted over the next couple of years, Sachs will have a deeper appreciation for Trump’s motives.

The big question for Germans now is who they can form a coalition with. If they form one with the outgoing party, they can get some of the changes needed done. However if they have to go with the two minor parties, the Greens and the Left (communists), they will be restricted in what they get done.
The best bet for Germany is for them to form a coalition with the AfD, but Merz has already said he would never do that. Time will tell. He has also said he wants the EU to become independent of the US. There he may get his wish – just not in a manner to his liking. He – and EU oligarchs – think they are dealing with PDJT 1.0 and can hoodwink him into backing down. Boy – are they in for a major surprise…

But then the Trump team sort of took it to what I would say was a pretty outrageous extreme, which is okay, forget the jointness; what we want is basically 50 percent of all future revenue, and that will pay for what Trump has said was 300 billion dollars of American weapons—which is nowhere close to what we’ve provided. I mean, it’s max a hundred billion when you look at. The different supplementals and the amount of it that actually went to Ukraine. …
…And the Ukrainians understandably balked at that because this is a major, major strategic decision for them that requires a certain amount of consultation with political forces, with the parliament, with the ministries, so on and so forth, and they, they weren’t ready to sign it. And I mean, it was basically extortion. And so now you’ve got this situation where the White House is saying, oh, Zelensky missed his opportunity, you know, the Ukrainians are being greedy.

Now that DOGE has uncovered what a giant ripoff Social Security is, I wonder how many truly hurt/sick Americans paid into the System that were wrongfully denied Disability coverage, ended up taking their own lives because of the hopeless situation they found themselves in?
When one tries calling Social Security, the wait is two hours. When I finally got connected to a real live person, I was told that two hours is the average wait time. If true, I’m guessing there are a lot of people pretending to “work.”

A few months ago I went to the local SSA office to try to get my disabled son’s back payments. The place was packed. More than 90% did not speak English. A bus even dropped off 50-60 persons. They had their own line. I was pissed.

This is moralistic garbage, which is unfortunately the rhetorical currency of the globalists because they have nothing else to say.
For three years, President Trump and I have made two simple arguments: first, the war wouldn’t have started if President Trump was in office; second, that neither Europe, nor the Biden administration, nor the Ukrainians had any pathway to victory. This was true three years ago, it was true two years ago, it was true last year, and it is true today.
And for three years, the concerns of people who were obviously right were ignored. What is Niall’s actual plan for Ukraine? Another aid package? Is he aware of the reality on the ground, of the numerical advantage of the Russians, of the depleted stock of the Europeans or their even more depleted industrial base?
Instead, he quotes from a book about George HW Bush from a different historical period and a different conflict. That’s another currency of these people: reliance on irrelevant history.
President Trump is dealing with reality, which means dealing with facts. And here are some facts:
Number one, while our Western European allies’ security has benefitted greatly from the generosity of the United States, they pursue domestic policies (on migration and censorship) that offend the sensibilities of most Americans and defense policies that assume continued over-reliance.
Number two, Russians have a massive numerical advantage in manpower and weapons in Ukraine, and that advantage will persist regardless of further Western aid packages. Again, the aid is *currently* flowing.
Number three, the United States retains substantial leverage over both parties to the conflict.
Number four, ending the conflict requires talking to the people involved in starting it and maintaining it.
Number five, the conflict has placed–and continues to place–stress on tools of American statecraft, from military stockpiles to sanctions (and so much else). We believe the continued conflict is bad for Russia, bad for Ukraine, and bad for Europe. But most importantly, it is bad for the United States.
Given the above facts, we must pursue peace, and we must pursue it now. President Trump ran on this, he won on this, and he is right about this. It is lazy, ahistorical nonsense to attack as “appeasement” every acknowledgment that America’s interest must account for the realities of the conflict.
That interest–not moralisms or historical illiteracy–will guide President Trump’s policy in the weeks to come.
And thank God for that.

However, today Zelensky said that that was not Europe’s money. “Frozen Russian assets are our money. It is our money, not shared with our partners.”
LOL! Fighting over the spoils that they don’t even own and can’t win on the battlefield.
Give the money all back to the Russians. When the fighting ends, Russia is going to have more torn up territory to rebuild and Ukraine will have less.

We can’t help them, nor should we. Their “new Germans” are reproducing at speed while the indigenous Germans are below replacement. Mark Steyn in his first of three books, America Alone (2006), specifically cited German women as having zero interest in having families. We can all do the math.
Within a generation, that nation, once the eeconomic and manufacturing powerhouse of Europe but now killing itself with deindustrialization and climate madness, will be the stronghold of the Islamic European Caliphate.
I don’t understand the voters there at all.
I saw that photo elsewhere this afternoon, Harrison and was sickened once more ( and for so many interconnected reasons) by what has been done to Germany and the acceptance of it by a cowed and cowardly people.
Today their voters signed their suicide note.
The political spectrum is Europe is much different than here and many Americans don’t understand. The best way to explain it might be to picture the political spectrum as ranging from AOC to Romney, with Merz’ party to the left of Romney.
Regarding the women – it’s no different than any other western nation, including the US, where the media has bombarded the people for several decades at least with anti-family, anti-men, anti-children, anti-Caucasian, marxist propaganda.
Remember, the ‘winning’ party only received 30% of the vote and there was a definite shift away from the left – but they remain heavy laden with guilt from their past and susceptible to manipulation related to it – “Don’t vote AfD, they are nazis!” While Americans laugh it off as absurd, many Germans can’t. As with most of Europe, there is also a lot of socialist in them.
They’ve been subjected to the invasion for over 2 decades now – an entire generation is heavily indoctrinated…
A similar case in Brtain which delivered the excresence Starmer…first past the post. Thirty percent also if memory serves. But, as you say, this is the way it is in Europe with multiple parties running and coalitions forming. It’s how Poland, for example, now has the Europhile/Globalist Donald Tusk as PM.
As for their birth rates, Mark was using figures available when he write his book in 2006. I remember the first time I read it not long after its publishing being astounded that was the case in Germany (and in other countries, too. Italy, which I had always thought of as a nation of big families has followed the same demographic trajectory. On a side note I am amazed that politically Italy has stuck so long…for them…with Meloni. No hint so far of becoming restless with their leader, as they are wont to do…).
So now their chains do not rest lightly upon them for many reasons both historical and current. Nor upon other European nations who have heard the siren calls of false gods and are now reaping rotten fruits because of it.
It’s a terrible thing to watch, my friend, for those of us who look further than our own shores.

I’d love to know why the IRS (I believe) was reported to be buying weapons and ammo. Maybe other Federal agencies involved, too. Where is all that now? Why was it purchased, for what purpose?
