Apparently, it must have consisted of a mechanical failure. Maybe the pilots detected it in-flight. In any case, it completely overturned (literally …) the landing process. The root cause must be immediately identified by forensic engineering examination, and inspections immediately ordered for every other aircraft of this model, anywhere and everywhere in the world.
These aircraft are indeed used world-wide, and they execute hundreds of entirely routine landings every day. So, “what, exactly(!), went wrong this time?”

I was stun-stunned to read that Elon Musk and his DOGE team are showing Boeing, (his competitor), how to get their tech-plagued contract to supply two new Air Force One planes back on schedule!
Here’s what Boeing CEO, Kelly Ortberg, had to say about Musk:
“He’s a brilliant guy, so he’s able to pretty quickly ascertain the difference between technical requirements and things that we can move out of the way. He’s helping us in a big way. So I’m embracing that, working with the DOGE team to help us improve the delivery.”
Boeing was awarded the cortract in 2018, which called for the planes to be delivered in 2024. The delivery has now been pushed back to 2027 and the company claims to have lost more than two billion dollars on the project so far.
NASA also announced that it will use, Musk’s company, SpaceX, to rescue two astronauts stranded in orbit by Boeing for nearly a year!
To my mind, Elon Musk is already the legendary genius of our time, arguably greater than Einstein, because AE was a theoretical genius but Musk turns his theories into reality…machines that work spectacularly!
Boeing hired way too many of Musk’s beloved H1B workers.

I agree with Vivek. Some people need custodial care, and right now it’s prison or the streets. President Trump has compassion for the mentally ill, so does RFK Jr. It’s time to fix this.
Prisons shouldn’t be the main form of psychiatric care. That’s common sense. Yes, there were mistakes made at psychiatric institutions in the past, but we should fix that instead of abandoning the whole thing.
Well past time for inpatient psychiatric care again.
Use the controlled setting to optimize the nutritional situation. That’s how pellagra was found and cured then prevented.

I STRONGLY disagree with forced incarceration for anything short of criminal violations of the law.
I would agree that real mental and emotional care needs to be provided more efficiently and humanely. Given out free needles and pipes and drugs as some ‘progressive’ hell holes do isn’t the answer at all.
