I’d rather watch videos of dogs negotiating stairs than the Superbowl. Heard it was a DEI halftime show. BTW, were there any decent commercials?
My 15 year old son wanted to watch it because all the guys from school were all watching it. The half time show was a disaster. I actually suffered through the entire thing because I really did want to know what makes these people tick. I didn’t understand a word of what this guys ‘sang’. Jibberish. Just unintelligible jibberish. My son said everyone knows his song! What a disgusting generation of this is their ‘music’.
We get Canadian ads. So disturbing. Garbage. Every 2mins was 5mins of ads. It was nauseating. Unbearable. I will never sit through that again. The amount of commercials to actual football is astonishing. I never watch sports. I had no idea. Complete waste of time.
Highlight of the enter thing was when Eagles head coach at the end gave glory to both God and Jesus. Just a class act. Other than that an absolute failure. We cheered for the Eagles just because we can’t stand Taylor Swift. I’m glad we did. Great team.

(1770-1857)
English-Canadian explorer (Columbia River, mapped more Canadian territory than anyone else), dies at 86
Biography: Born into poverty in a Welsh family in London, David Thompson was educated at a charity school and apprenticed to the Hudson Bay Company (HBC) in 1784 at 14 years old. An unpromising start for a man who went on to become one of the great geographers of North America, mapping more of Canada than any other individual.
Thompson experienced a deeply religious episode as a young man, where he later described playing draughts with the devil. This incident had a profound effect on the rest of his life. In 1790 he was trained in surveying and astronomy by Philip Turnor, chief surveyor to the HBC. Although appointed HBC surveyor in 1795 he then joined their rival, the North West company and went on to work for them for 16 years mapping the 49th parallel, the border between Canada and the US. He went on to map the north and the west coast.
Thompson’s work was notable for the way he recorded the way of life of the First Nations people and he learnt a number of their languages. His later years were more tragic. He moved to Montreal but lost his savings and ended his days in poverty. His maps were sold to a London publisher for very little and not published under his name. However his reputation was revived posthumously by the publication of his travel narrative by the geologist Joseph Burr Tyrrell.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

In case anyone is planning a trip to Tucson – our favorite restaurant is Kingfisher. Lots of various types of fresh fish – really tough to find in the desert!

Used to be a Kingfisher in Indianapolis that closed long ago (mid/late 70’s) that the parents went to that I also got to go to from time to time.
Building was like a old Mississippi river paddle boat, I think a new Red Lobster down the street put them outta business.
Good seafood was hard to find til I found out about The New Orleans House on the north side…. hob knobbing with upper crust/football players $$$$ … til they closed as well, only went there for my birthday dinner with a co-worker who’s birthday was a week before mine.
