Living alone causes Little ‘Timk and I to form an even tighter relationship. She has definitely changed and is much more attentive. Last night she twice jumped into my lap looking for a chin rub (her favorite). I’m happy to oblige. Like Sweetie, she has decided that I’m her “work”. Her attention is sometimes more subtle than at other times bit she obviously likes to spend more time with me than previously. I like to think she’s looking after me . . . And in the movie version, she is. Good kitty indeed! 🙂

Good afternoon, dear Patience. Just got back from a great lunch at my old-time favorite restaurant. These are people I’ve known for literally decades. Wonderful Texas roadhouse food. Plentiful, a bit more expensive now due to inflation, but still a quite satisfying meal. This is the kind of place I like to bring ‘not from here’ folks to give them a taste of authentic Texas food. Long may places like this wave . . . !!!
These days, so many places have changed and or out of business -sadly.
There really isn’t anything like that sense of ‘belonging’; going to a place, and seeing people -you know.
It’s quite satisfying, comforting and grounding -in the journey of life. eh?

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I went to bed last night thinking about this. Like, as the Lord forgives my sins I need to forgive those in our government who stabbed us in the back. That seems kind of hard to do, but I am not walking around bursting with hate for them, so maybe I have forgiven them. Anyone else struggle with this phrase?

I certainly do, and I think most people do, Henry. It goes directly against our HUMAN nature, which, by definition, is sinful. If our nature wasn’t sinful we would not have needed Jesus to sacrifice Himself on the cross.
