I think it’s interesting that both the husband and wife have horrific, life threatening lung problems at the same time.
My oldest sister’s husband got lung cancer at 55 and died. Two years later my sister got lung cancer and died a couple years after that.

I guess he forgot about all the people who had their jobs threatened – or outright terminated – because they refused to take an experimental drug that had not been properly safety tested. Well, they don’t call them “straw men” for nothing. I suffer from migraines, and they run in my family. The difference between the insufferable 3-day pain fests of my youth and the fact that I can take a Relpax or Maxalt today and be done with it in a few hours is shockingly beautiful.
In the old days, you had to fake that you were not in horrible pain because people would call you a malingerer. So, you spent 3-4 days feeling like you’ve got an ice pick poking out your eyeball from behind while you try to get your work done and not scowl at people and also you can’t sleep. So, the medicines are amazing. Nobody is denying that.
But then I’ll see a commercial pushing people yet again to take the COVID shot, and there’s one teeny tiny thing missing compared to every other drug commercial on TV…the side effects.

I don’t think that’s going to work out quite the way he hopes. Elon Musk is immediately going to do what I’ve been saying for YEARS: measure just how the government operated in the absence of all those “nonessential” workers. And then start firing people because the automated stuff kept running fine and nobody else was missed.
In the past, government shutdowns used to affect a lot of government employees because everyone was non-essential. Then, the government shutdowns of the 2010’s started and NOBODY NOTICED THEY WERE GONE. So, the government bureaucrats started declaring everyone to be mission essential. Too many people simply responded, “Well…good!” and “I didn’t even realize it!”

I hear from friends that OPM is sending almost daily emails to government civilian employees about the buyout as they try to get people to resign rather than just terminating everyone. The probationary hires (one of my suggestions) are the most concerned because they enjoy the fewest civil service protections. They think sometime after 2/6 there might be some actions taken to start letting people go. I guess it’s been quite a thing and basically daily pressure with OPM telling them “Yes of course it’s legal and we have the money.”
So it appears President Trump is working every day with tangible work products as evidence. Where are the Senators? IMO opinion, we should have had confirmation votes on Friday and over the weekend. Nothing today either. Is there a schedule?

Great news! In 2017 President Trump appointed Betsy DeVos to the Dept of Education. I had high hopes for her, but she was a complete dud.
Surprise surprise.
They had their chance to right the ship. Time to just do away with it altogether now.
Public schools and religious organizations have prostituted themselves to Deep State for financial benefit for far too long. The commie party is officially over.
She was awful.
She appears to have shut down some for-profit schools for fraud, which may sound like a good thing, but didn’t go after the NFP schools, which also defrauded their students; she just eliminated some of the competition.
This is why it’s okay to criticize his staff picks, IMO, because he makes some yuge and costly mistakes.
Well now the fun begins. More fun I should say. This will be epic with the teacher’s unions etc probably screaming bloody murder. This department has been one of my pet peeves for a very long time as an employee in a school system. There is not one reason that is any good for it to exist and for it to have grown into the money grabbing, controlling entity it has. Good riddance and I hope this comes true. Any limited federal over sight or support for education can be done under one of the other departments that remain. Good luck with this one PTrump!
As much as I support public education, this isn’t the way to do it, because it it made something better something would be better, but its inception coincides with a downturn in the quality of education.
