Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

Yesterday I think it was, there was a surprising bit of news:
“NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte just agreed with President Trump on Greenland and is calling on Denmark to immediately begin negotiations.”
Rutte was quoted as saying, “When it comes to defense in the Arctic, Trump is right. What I think is very good is that the Prime Minister of Denmark immediately began negotiations with President Trump. Essentially it was about the high relevance of defense in the north.”
NATO is up to their eyeballs in the Ukraine.
Something is going on and I think it may have to do with the missile strikes in Odessa a day or two ago.
The Hotel Bristol and the Odesa Philharmonic Hall were heavily damaged after being hit by those concrete-piercing Oreshnik missiles. It looks wrecked up as all get-out.
Details on the deaths and injuries are still sketchy but, so far the news is reporting that there were Norwegian NATO brass and other NATO brass at the hotel, possibly French NATO generals.
Military Summary Channel covered the strikes and I think Levan Gudadze-Opinion covered the story as well. Levan’s shows always have informative comments. Levan is buddies with Alex Christoforou (of The Duran). Both do daily shows and are on ytube and Rumble. Defense Politics Asia channel also does a daily Ukraine war update in case anyone is interested.

So far I haven’t found an article or video about the Kursk incident you described, only little snippets in passing. Where’d you hear about it?

Purchase on a layaway plan. Typically called a contract for deed, title passes when payments are completed. (Rent to own is a contract for deed hybrid/variation.)
Purchase on the installment plan. Direct purchase from seller; seller agrees to payments secured by a mortgage, but title passes immediately.
Cash purchase. The seller gets all the money at the time the ownership transfers, in a single transaction.
Terminology:
Mortgage: This is the grant of a lien against the property, given by the owner to another person as security against a promise, usually a promise of payment of some sort and amount.
Promissory Note: This is the document that details the promise of one party to pay to another party certain amounts at certain times.
Home loan: I go stay at my brother’s cabin for a week, then come home, send him an email with photos of the fun my family had and a thank you. Home loan.
Cash Purchase two major variations:
The first is a buyer who saves up money until they have enough for the purchase. For simplicity I’ll lump in other scenarios such as family contributions, money was obtained by robbing a bank, etc.
The second is the most common form of cash purchase in the US. This method is misleadingly called a home loan from an institution. This method where a bank or other institution (VA for example) hands over the cash to the buyer, is most common. (A variation could be a private lender who is not the seller of the property.) The main thing is that it’s still a cash transaction, the seller gets their cash in one transaction, hands title to the buyer, and walks away.
This most common variation is where the confusion is greatest. The bankers have deliberately created that confusion. The entire banking industry is built on the premise that the buyer has “borrowed” the money, and that they are buying the house over time. Neither is true.
In fact the buyer has Purchased the money from the banker, then purchased the house from the seller with the money from the banker. To purchase the money from the banker the buyer pays with a promise to make payments on specified terms for a period of time, to keep the purchased property maintained, to grant a lien against that purchased property that grants the bank or institution a right to wrest ownership from the buyer if they fail to perform as promised, etc.
As a lesser example of this concept, consider that I agree with you that I will plow your driveway all winter for a contract price of $500. There are terms as to how often, how much snow, how quickly I’ll show up and complete the work, etc. But you give me the money up front. It’s now mine, it’s not a loan. I’ve purchased that money from you in exchange for the obligations I’ve promised to fulfill in the future.
The second falsehood, that the owner is buying it over time, is false because the owner is the actual owner from the moment the cash is handed to the seller. The time payments are not related to the ownership of the property. The obligation to make payments is independent of the home ownership; each is a stand-alone condition.
The bank is well-aware that the obligation to make payments is not tied to the ownership of the property. This is proven when a person fails to make the payments, the bank takes ownership of the property away via the lien, and still the buyer is deemed to owe the balance on the note. Look at NC as another example. An owner who had ownership of a house and land that has now disappeared down the mountain still owes the payments that were promised even though the house and land is gone.
It’s time to insist on truth in banking, and that includes the truthful description of the transaction. It’s time we restore the basic concept of lending. A loan is when I borrow your hammer then give it back later. I give back the same hammer without being forced to add a candy bar. I borrow 3 eggs to bake a cake, I give back three like eggs (because they’re fungible) but I don’t have to give back 3 eggs plus part of the cake.
If I have to give back something more than I borrowed it’s not a loan, it’s a purchase.

When Mary Middleclass pays Ivan Insuranceman $100,000 up front and Ivan promises to pay Mary 30 years of monthly payments with interest, the government calls that a PURCHASE of an annuity. And the IRS treats it as a Purchase (by Mary) of an income stream even when Mary dies. (No stepped up basis for her heirs)
But when Bob Bankerman pays Mike Middleclass $100,000 and Mike promises to pay to Bob monthly payments for 30 years with interest, the government and Bob call that a LOAN. And the IRS treats it that way even after Mike dies.
AND every time Mike moves Bob gets to pick a new monthly payment amount that Mike has to pay in order to buy his money back.
AND Bob gets to charge Mike a whole pile of new fees for the privilege of buying his money back.
AND Bob gets to sell that income stream off to other people named Bankerman or Investerman or Hedgefundman in whole or in as many parts (derivatives) as Bob wants to carve it into.
HOW IS THIS FAIR?
Banks are stealing billions from the middle class every year with this lie. Consider JUST the fees generated by refinancing. What drives refinancing? Interest rates that are endlessly manipulated up and down. Well who sets those rates? Look on your dollar bill. The Federal Reserve. Which is run by ……bankers.
I propose to correct this, starting with VA financing.
VA Home Financing Portability Directive
I propose that The President direct that the VA immediately issue new guidance and policy to make VA home financing portable. This would mean that a vet who has an existing home financing amount backed by a mortgage can/will take that existing financing with them when they move.
Example: A vet owns a home in region A and has existing VA financing at the interest rate that prevailed when they bought the home. For illustration say that rate is 3.5%. Some conditions will apply of course, but provided that the next house is of sufficient value and equity to meet guidelines the vet can sell that house in region A and move to region B (or just across town) and take the 3.5% money with them.
This of course would allow a vet to take full advantage of market conditions where prices reflect higher interest rates paid by other buyers.
My proposal addresses only the money still carried as owing on the past financing. If Bob borrowed $100,000 to buy house A, and still has $90,000 balance owing, that $90,000 is the amount that follows Bob to house B. This doesn’t mean the vet can get additional new money, at an old rate, since that’s a new purchase. Any new money from the VA to purchase house B is at the current rates, but the $90,000 Bob already purchased years ago should not have to be purchased again.
Reasons that justify this immediate policy:
Vets have moved, and may still be moved, as a consequence of their military service. Even after they separate from service they have spent years being moved about and may lack personal references for where they will eventually settle for the long haul. They may have interim jobs that over time will take them to new career paths. They may move closer to family or other considerations as their time out of service lengthens.
Vets will be put in a position to immediately spur activity in a stalled housing market. Many markets are currently stalled by the higher interest rates because buyers who currently own have to weigh the higher interest rate at the new house as against their current situation.
Vets have put themselves on the line for us and each individual in this scenario has already qualified for and obtained that loan at that rate, so other than the particular collateral, what change justifies them paying more for that same money?
The cost to the VA will be minimal and may be zero or less. If a vet is enabled to move to a home more suitable to their present changed circumstance, taking existing financing with them, they may be better able to avoid default (which can happen with changed circumstances). The money was already sold to them at that rate, the calculation of return was fair at that point in time, and the circumstances of the bank holding the promissory note have not changed AT ALL. Let’s be honest, the promissory note is held in a bundle with hundreds of millions of dollars of like notes, the investor is a hedge fund or similar, they have purchased an income stream backed by the US Government, specifically the VA, and there is nobody at that hedge fund who can even tell you the addresses of any of the collateral. Most likely the payments are processed by others, the collateral documents (mortgages) are held by still others, and the income stream has been carved into pieces and sold as derivatives.
(Note: When I say vet I include all military.)

Vets already get interest-advantaged loans for all new homes, so I don’t think this is a pressing issue, inasmuch as you are seeking to increase the government’s financial obligations in a way that boosts the financial industry at a time we are seeking to cut government debts and obligations and already have unfilled needs in the military and VA.
But at any rate, it requires legislation It cannot be done via executive order. I suggest that you call/write your Congressman rather than repeating this here.

I would hope that this could be done by executive action for VA funding precisely because it is VA relevant. I believe that if VA loans were addressed the issue would be forced into the national discussion and all home owners would call for similar treatment.
