WASHINGTON DC – Longtime NBC News political reporter Chuck Todd is leaving the network after 18 years, he announced on his podcast Friday morning. [H]e said it was because the “media has a lot of work to do to win back the trust” of the public, and “national media isn’t the place that’s going to be able to do it.”

His predecessor Tim Russert was much admired and respected but he too was a party to the erosion of trust.

trapped in the rest home – and that whole thing turned out to be BS (my friend from Louisiana who was in the midst of all that and knew many people in the area told me that everyone had him down as a fool and that it was not a true story).
Then when you have pundits, like Tim Russert or Chuck Todd, having people on like that guy in the aftermath of Katrina, then your trust in these “officials” who go on these shows is greatly eroded as well.
Also Brian Williams on NBC/MSNBC reporting live from the scene in the aftermath of Katrina, reported seeing a body of a person floating by (near his hotel) . . . given his propensity for embellishing, I think it could have been a little plastic baby doll that had been in a King cake.
Just now the fellow from NTSB was on, talking about the horrific crash – where was the gal, the Chairman?
The fellow is STILL a big old slob, looking like he had gotten up from a nap – the tee shirt showing – can’t even wear a polo shirt, something with a collar – yes, I know, there are horrible things to be found out about that crash but he himself does not instill trust or confidence and OMG it seemed like he was burping!

“Lunchy” – that’s the description of the FBI agent, Richard Miller, prosecuted by then-Assistant US Attorney Adam Schiff. Miller was always hanging out at the 7-11, reading comic books. I think “lunchy” sounds like a really good description for this NTSB guy!

I mentioned last year that the legacy media had jumped the shark, and that we could get a twofer if DJT could peel off twenty or thirty percent of black voters, by effectively destroying both the aforementioned and the Dem0crats as a national party. Fast forward, and it looks likely that the msm is down for the count, and imo the Dem0crat Party is hanging by a thread.
Things of course can change fast, but if Team Trump can stay on current course, and also accomplish a few key items, methink they could cut that thread. One is to expose the people involved in the Seth Rich murder, another is to use all available Federal law enforcement and intel agencies to bust open the Dem ballot fraud operation, and another is to double down on outreach to black & Hispanic voters.
It would be wonderful if the GOP had sufficient guts to turn a great many of the EOs into actual LAW so they can’t just be rescinded by the next Democrat that gets into office.
Well, that would do away with checks & balances and make our president a dictator.

Tangentially related to media credibility – some of the news reports on the plane crash in Philadelphia speak of a flight scheduled to bring a pediatric patient home to Missouri, others say the flight was taking her home to Mexico, the country.
There actually IS a small town in Missouri called Mexico, but they specify that it’s the country.
I’m wondering whether it was a Mexican girl who was treated, but living in Missouri? Or were they really headed to Mexico? (In which case it’s probably not kosher to mention that she’s likely another case of third worlders coming here for world class medical service paid by taxpayers.)
