The statement he plans to continue to sharing his “reporting” and “perspective” would suggest that reporting and that perspective are completely aligned with the “power” he and his colleagues continually virtue signal about “speaking truth to.”
If that is the case then what is his value as a journalist, corporate or independent? These dinosaurs just do not get it and never will. The attraction of “podcasters” is not the technical/material format, it is the free(er) exchange of ideas and opinions they themselves are ideologically incapable of engaging in.
He will be terribly depressed if he attempts the podcast route. No one will listen to him except maybe his dog if he has one.
I agree, but I do wonder as time progresses how the influx of washed up legacy media personalities into new media formats will affect those formats.
It’s not so much the Chuck Todds and Keith Olbermann’s themselves that might warp those formats, but the money behind them.
We’ve already sort of seen this on the right, and Sundance has hinted at possibility of some alt-media personalities and platforms being compromised/controlled by their financial backers.
I sort of look on alt-media as experiencing a Wild West era which must inevitably be tamed by the “progress” of financial interests, and every little weasel like Todd who takes his chances on the frontier is hastening that process. He won’t make it there, but the system behind him will.
Nobody will miss him! Nobody!

Honestly, and I hate to say this, it is better to depart from such people. Go “No Contact”. There is no reaching them with their self-absorbed opinions and positions. It’s a mental problem. Our society is filled with such people. I can’t quite put my finger on why there are so many, but I believe it has to do with not having real relationships as infants and children. They are either products of narcissistic parents, or something went horribly wrong in their psyche and they never recovered. Or it could just be that changing yourself is the hardest work one can do. It’s so much easier and lazier to wallow in your own perceived status of victimhood.
