Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough.
They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it.
You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

I am nearly 66 now and remember my 50s. It is that age when you are transitioning into mature years. That is when I figured out that men in their 50s do not “check out” and give women in their 50s the “once over”. They glance, say nope, and look away. I actually like being to freely walk amongst humanity and am not regarded as a fine piece of meat. I am the same weight as I was in college so from behind I look younger. Boy, are they disappointed when they see me from the front!! Ha ha.

There is no reason — especially since so many of the Congressers are lawyers — for hearings to be handled so ineptly. One thing that would alleviate the pontification is for the chairman simply to announce that a witness may be asked only one question at a time and unless the answer is unresponsive and rambling — which will be addressed by the chair alone, will be given opportunity to respond without interruption. I’m not sure why this isn’t done.

WASHINGTON, Jan 29 (Reuters) – Security agents escorted the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Agriculture out of her office on Monday after she refused to comply with her firing by the Trump administration, sources familiar with the matter told Reuters.
Phyllis Fong, a 22-year veteran of the department, had earlier told colleagues that she intended to stay after the White House terminated her Friday, saying that she didn’t believe the administration had followed proper protocols, the sources said.

Senior officials within the Department of Justice (DOJ) have held discussions with federal prosecutors in Manhattan about the possibility of dropping their corruption case against New York Mayor Eric Adams, which emerged after Adams voiced criticism against the Biden administration’s open border policies, the NY Times reports, citing (as always) anonymous sources.
DOJ officials, through the office of President Trump’s new deputy AG, Emil Bove, have also spoken to Adams’ defense counsel since Donald Trump took office, the NY Post further confirms.
Adams notably met with Trump on Jan. 17 at the President’s West Palm Beach, Florida golf course. The Mayor has denied that his legal woes were discussed during the visit, though Trump did speak about a “weaponized” DOJ, according to a person briefed on the meeting.
Adams’ legal team is led by Elon Musk’s attorney, Alex Spiro.
Prior to taking office, Trump had discussed the possibility of pardoning Adams, saying he thought the NY Mayor had been “treated pretty unfairly.”
Instead of a pardon, however, discussions have pivoted to the DOJ simply dropping the charges, sparing Trump from having to use those pardoning powers, according to the Times, which notes that if prosecutors were to dismiss the case, it would allow Adams to tout his innocence as he seeks reelection.

The pilot of the Black Hawk helicopter that crashed directly into a Bombardier jet carrying 64 passengers Wednesday evening, has been identified by podcaster Luke Ford as Chief Warrant Officer 2 (CW2) Jo Ellis, a transgender woman. Jo Ellis served in the Virginia National Guard for 15 years and transitioned while serving as a pilot. She had been making radicalized anti-Trump statements on social media.

This particular report about the pilot is unconfirmed, but they broke the story.

Confirmation of the crew roster on a military flight assignment takes 5 minutes at battalion command level. The SecDef can get that information with a phone call.
The only real world delay is the next of kin notification. And we’re already out over 24 hours from the crash. The other two crew members have already been identified.
