I had the pleasure as a student to travel to Eglin when the cannon was in-development, to write up an article as a university engineering magazine liaison. During the visit, the highlight, of course, was the live-fire test of the ground-mounted cannon into an earthen bunker about 100 yards down range.

The cartels run smuggling tunnels under the border to move drugs, guns and people. Often they can put one entrance inside a building on the Mexican side and put the exit inside a building on the US side. There are many places with mirror towns or cities on each side of the border.

1,500 is what, less than one soldier per mile of border?
A 1,500 to 3,000 man Combine Task Force can CONTROL and ACT over the entire border better than adding a squad of troops per mile…immediately and more efficiently in many ways.
It takes far more than just boots on the ground to actually conduct a control and deny operation of this scope and size.
An armed drone element alone could eliminate allot of cartel assets.
INTEL assets to point out where existing current boots are needed as well as to interrogate and perform SIGINT-Electonic Warfare would be most useful.
There are allot of assets beyond Combat Troops that would have immediate impact as well as multiply the effects of the Border Patrol assets deployed.
Combat Troops would be very useful and I hope they are used … after the President ensures he is on good legal ground, so he can ignore the wave of legal battles coming in the US 9th District as happened in 2017-2020.
What about AWACS, flying way in the hell up there, and getting detailed picture of whats on the ground for many miles around, and relaying that info to the troops in real time.

I always try to look at history for “lessons” … learn from the good; don’t repeat the bad … and it saves time. You know the drill.
An example in our current situation: In 1916 President Woodrow Wilson ordered 15,000 regular Army soldiers and ultimately sent over 100,000 National Guardsmen to the US-Mexico border … that was a YUGE commitment and came at a time when the total US military was rather small and the national population hovered around 102 million.
About 5000 US troops actually crossed the border heading south to take on the “Mexican gangs”, a.k.a. Pancho Villa and his crew — does that sound familiar? Only 5000 because Wilson wanted to “keep it light” as the Mexican Revolution was unfolding in the backdrop of the expedition.
The thinking at the time was if the Americans used too much force, the entire situation could easily escalate — and our possible (probable) entry into WW1 was seen just over the horizon.
So we didn’t use “too much force” and the situation escalated anyway. Some argue that Wilson imposed too many restrictions on the U.S. military which ultimately prevented them from completing the mission’s objectives … again, sound familiar ??
In any case, I’d say we’ve still got a way to go to meet that level of US military commitment on the US-Mexico border.
My Grandfather was sent down from Fort Snelling in Mn. to Chase Villa back into Mexico. He said they sent him down in his winter wools and he was miserable! He went on to serve in WW1 in France. Very softspoken man hard as nails.
One of my uncles was in France. In the trenches. Experienced mustard gas attack. He never got over that. He survived. Died in his late 80s. My dad was in WW I, Navy. On a troop ship. He was very softspoken, too. He died at age 62.

The “H1-B” visa program, in particular, is a direct violation of the Constitution, which declares that “involuntary servitude” is illegal.
This entire(!) program is a thin-dressing on: “indentured servitude,” which long ago was declared to be prohibited.
The visa-holder requires “sponsorship,” which is precisely nothing-more and nothing-less than indenture. He cannot leave his present employment. Therefore, he cannot object to anything that said employer chooses to do to him.
In Nashville a few years ago, I personally observed fourteen young, identically-dressed-to-the-nines Indian men walking out of a single apartment and filing onto a waiting bus. That evening, the same bus returned and fourteen people filed back in. The next day I couldn’t resist: I peeked in the window and found sleeping bags neatly folded-up on the floor. This is how these people were obediently living – in Nashville.
I don’t know how they ate, or who fed them. But I know that they had no capacity to leave.
Most municipalities have occupancy laws that your observation proves are being violated. We got a flop-house shut down in our neighborhood by complaining loudly on this to city officials. But it wasn’t easy, as nobody wants to be seen as anti-immigrant.

Until Donald Trump came along and took it away from Uniparty phony RINO candidates, like Jeb Bush and Chris Christie! And he did it by giving voice to the rage we all felt. And Trump could do that because he felt that rage too, and despite his billions, he was one of us…we could feel it in our bones!
And that’s why we’ve gone from an America where illegal immigration is an act of love and if you disagree shut the hell up you Bible-thumping racist! to an America where our President sends U.S. troops to protect our southern border!
