Nixon wasn’t convicted either, so unfortunately it’s not unprecedented.
That Nixon pardon seems to be what they’re hanging their hats on. But that pardon was never challenged, so I don’t view it as definitive.
Nixon, at least, had articles of impeachment drawn up in the House. There were specific crimes he was to be impeached, then tried, for.. The Republican House rep and Senator delegations had told Nixon impeachment AND conviction were guaranteed. Nixon preferred to step down in resignation than to put the country through that episode.
Ford’s pardoning of Nixon was seen to be covering specific crimes the public was aware of, so at that time, it was not seen as truly pre-emptive.
Who changed the narrative on Nixon? The Media, of course, so as to provide cover for Biden’s actions.

I have always noticed that the Presidents’ families (over the decades) often left the viewing stands a LONG time before the parade was over…just too miserable and cold standing there in the open. Nothing is perfect, but this will have its good aspects today.

These Marching Bands are about the only thing the Public Schools do well at. And they do it superbly !
The quality of the bands reflect the quality of the student body. India’s got nothing on our kids.
Off topic, but as one who played and marched in both high school and university marching bands, I hope you’re paying attention to these very highly honored young people who were chosen to perform today in President Trump’s honor and to represent their schools and communities.
