This means the President can pardon federal offenses but cannot use this power to interfere with impeachment proceedings. The President does not need permission or input from anyone to issue pardons. The power to grant pardons is vested solely in the President by the U.S. Constitution and is considered quite broad and largely unreviewable.
This means the President can issue pardons at any point after a crime is committed and before, during, or after criminal proceedings. This is also why blanket pardons for crimes not charged yet are laughable when brought up to Biden.
U.S. Constitution states that the executive power is vested in the President. This is outlined in Article II, Section 1, Clause 1, which says:
“The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.”

A lot of people here who are not fans of Bondi and perhaps for good reasons, but I gotta say she is fighting back these Demoncrats like no nominee I’ve seen before – not caving to any of their bullying or answering their pre-loaded swamp questions. In fact she’s going hard right back on them in a way I don’t think any of them expected, or I expected.
If there were no biases going into this, I can’t see how anyone could not be cheering on every common sense and often vehemently anti-establishment, confrontational answer she’s given so far.
I remain cautiously optimistic on Bondi, but this confirmation hearing is fire.
It is on fire.
She handles these attack dogs with poise and dignity. She insists on being able to answer. She doesn’t back down.
