The firefighting in the Los Angeles area continues with a moderate respite in the Santa Anna winds. However, the death toll continues to rise.
(The Guardian) The death toll from the Eaton and Palisades fires that have consumed large swathes of Los Angeles county – and are still less than 30% contained – has risen to 24, according to medical examiners.
The county of Los Angeles medical examiner published a list of fatalities without giving details of any identities. Eight of the dead were found in the Palisades fire zone, and 16 in the Eaton fire zone, the document said.
Officials in California warned on Sunday that strengthening winds in the coming days threatened to expand the destruction through the city that has already seen many neighborhoods erased. More than 1,800 total structures had been destroyed by the two fires with upwards of 10,000 damaged.
Three wildfires were still burning Sunday in Los Angeles county, where more than 150,000 people remained under an evacuation warning. Firefighters said shifting Santa Ana winds could blow the Palisades fire, which has razed almost 24,000 acres, back on itself towards the coast.
At a news conference on Sunday afternoon, officials said more than 4,700 personnel were assigned to stopping the blazes from spreading as winds are forecast to pick up again from tonight through Wednesday. (read more)

This is a result of feckless leadership and stupid liberal policies. The dangers were known in advance, and the people in charge ignored the warnings. The government officials were more focused on providing for illegals, coddling criminals, and DEI programs.
I hope those who decide to leave Commiefornia are red-pilled.
That can’t be true: the L.A. Times editorial said it was climate change. An even more forceful application of Bolshevik Californian Bureaucracy will have everything running fine again in no time flat.
Ask and you shall receive…
Maybe the barbarians at the gate, in vast numbers run his worthless ass out of the country. Wasn’t this prick running around the south east telling everyone how to better manage their state’s business?
President Trump should just say ok, and leave them as they are.
No federal aid whatsoever.
Set up border control stations around the perimeter of the state,
or whatever is left of it, and let them have a taste of the bitter ash
of stupidity.
Disagree. There are too many regular people who have lost everything. While I agree citizens voting for these clowns are culpable to some extent for the increasing fire risks, it makes more sense for Trump to impose severe conditions on any Fed $$$ requiring forest management, elimination of social policies e.g. DEI, LGBTQX?, etc AND ALSO TO HOLD ALL PUBLIC OFFICIALS IN FIRE MANAGEMENT FOOD CHAIN ACCOUNTABLE – PROFESSIONALLY AND FINANCIALLY.
Makes even more sense for President Trump to tell CA to get in line behind NC and TN when Newsome shows up hat-in-hand.
Gulf beaches still decimated too.
“Too many people have lost everything.”
Why is that? People should have home insurance to cover their home and property. Is it that some didn’t have insurance because insurance companies left the state when Democrats enacted price controls? Because nothing was done to prevent the fires? Because Newsom cut $100+ million from the fire prevention budget and the fire prevention that President Trump warned them about was not done? Because the reservoirs were empty? Because an extinct fish was being protected? Because $18 million was cut from the fire department budget and they were supposed to cut another $49 million? Because hundreds of firemen were fired because they refused to get the experimental vaccine? Because firefighting equipment was given to Ukraine? Because the fire hydrants were not working or had been stolen and not replaced? Because the homeless in LA starts 14,000+ fires per year that LA County has to respond to? Because some of those 14K fires got out of control? Because illegal alien arsonist were starting fires? Because masked arsonists were starting fires? Because of cartel gangs “acting like a military operation” to loot expensive homes–did they start some of the 55 fires? The National Sheriffs Association estimates 2 million suspected terrorists crossed FJB’s open border. And they were welcomed in California. Former national security experts and federal law enforcement officials sent a letter to Congress warning of possible terrorist attacks in the United States due to the open border. Has their warning come true? Sounds like the perfect storm. Why is that?
Because DEI people running the state are incompetent? Elon Musk said, “Incompetence in the limit is indistinguishable from sabotage.”
I have some sympathy for those Republicans in the communist blue state of DEI. It is said that 90% of the people in some fire areas voted for more liberal/DEI policies because they could blame climate change and Trump when the annual fires broke out.
Regarding FEMA assistance, FJB told those who lost everything to Hurricane Helene that there was no money left to give them. (It had already been given to Ukraine or the illegal aliens.) And following that Hurricane Milton, a geoengineered storm, did even more damage. And they got next to nothing too–especially if they had a Trump sign out front. Biden spent every dime he could before crawling out the White House door. He is leaving President Trump with no money in the federal bank account, no money below the federal debt ceiling, and a federal debt of 36 TRILLION. FJB promised California money that doesn’t even exist.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/09/joe-biden-tells-americans-suffering-flood-disaster-zone/
Kalifornia has $50 million to “Trump-proof” the state. And then they want President Trump to write them a check for $150 billion. Stupid is as stupid does. Why aren’t they using the $50 million for these fires? They still have not learned a thing! President Trump is often very magnanimous and may bail them out. But it is just going to happen again and again when these liberal DEI leaders continue to play with matches.
The “Federal Aid” should be to investigate the CA and LA officials whose Depraved Indifference led to the cascading series of systemic inactions/actions that led to this predictable and very preventable mass death disaster.
Matt Gaetz is in the area in San Diego, maybe he can be tapped to become the Federal Prosecutor. Heck, lets appoint Rudy Giuliani to become the Federal Prosecutor.
Hold the jury selection and trials in a red district like Bakersfield.
24 dead found so far – some knowledgeable people predict the death toll could reach the hundreds.
Hundreds possibly dead – all due to numerous foolish inactions and foolish actions.
Are we to abandon the many conservative Americans trapped (held hostage) in California?
Are they really trapped or have they chosen not to leave?
I left two years ago. I was born and raised there and am no spring chicken. It wasn’t easy to leave. My family is there, but they have chosen to stay.
Anyone find it odd he wants Trump to sympathize and visit while he try’s to keep California free from his influence?
“hey Newscum, you want my help? It is contingent.” Hopefully Trump has balls as big as church bells and bulldozes all of the BS. I can tell you this, California will thank Trump if he does.
Pelosi has a strong hold there and Trump needs to blow it up.
I really can’t understand why any sitting president would step back while this is happening to American citizens. Like a boss, tell them to resign and make it a press conference, build a case so egregious in public form his power is leached away in the moment.
Gulag for Newcum’s insurrection.
Well, well, well–A ghoul and a gelding—how special!
But wait!!!!! There’s more!!!
Newsom, bouncing around in an interview like a toddler who has been told he’s going to the circus has announced that he’s been conflabbing with Hawaii’s governor Josh Green on how he has been dealing with the graveyard of people’s lives, Lahaina.
Speculators, in other words, who intend to rebuild Lahaina as a globalist Smart City.
Newsom is all in and can’t wait to get started. He was grinning like the Cheshire Cat and wriggling like Peter Strzok at his House hearing.
Another Smart City, coming right up!!!
Newsom will of course take his cut….you can count on it.
Ka-CHING!!
A super-majority of Ds in the CA house and senate; likely not too difficult to ‘strike a deal’ with Gov hair gel. These people are such wussies.
California failed to pay back the federal government for $55 Billion in loans for emergency extensions to unemployment insurance during Covid. Fraud was rampant and much of that was stolen. CA also took it upon themselves to extend benefits longer than they should have.
So because the state didn’t pay back that loan, CA is just sticking the bill onto businesses in the form of a massive hike to payroll taxes.
CA is doing everything possible to drive people and businesses out of the state. Now instead of using any extra money to pay down their loans they are blowing it on TDS and welfare for illegal immigrants.
They can’t let a crisis go to waste. The Communist mayor knows what to do!
The powers that be set up the crisis. They ignored every single way to get ready for the yearly Santa Ana winds fire danger. These were not coincidences. Also notice, tptb put DEI hires in most prominent positions just like they did with all the prosecutions of PDJT.
So that those people would get the blame for the ‘accidents’, or could call everyone who saw what they’d NOT DONE and said so, racists.
This was the continuation of the Democrat Communist plot to destroy the country and bankrupt it trying to ‘save California’.
Same as with the Secret Service, remember?
Set these idiot DEI hires up as patsies, just like Oswald.
Cause their too stupid to see it.
Who’s too stupid? Our nation has a vote, it’s called speak the truth. Everyone worships money, fame, power, and these demons feed their young off our fear of losing that money.
You can’t bribe God, it’s why you put all your eggs in his basket. Truth stands no matter, but nobody will utter a word against these people.
This is all planned.
Thats right Pilgrim just passing thru.
The Edomites used to pass their children thru the fire for Molech.
There is also this.
“How Los Angeles Plans to Become a “Smarter City” by the 2028 Olympics”
Excerpts:
The plan envisions a city that is easy to get around without a car via a unified digital payment platform for Metro rail, buses, bikes and shuttles. “Ethical proactive technology” will help identify “fire, violence, or other risks to the health and safety of L.A. residents”even before a 911 call. The city will deploy “ubiquitous, ultra-high speed 5G connectivity” across its environs. It calls for the deployment of smart wayfinding kiosks and 10,000 public electric vehicle charging stations.
https://www.globalresearch.ca/los-angeles-smarter-city-2028-olympics/5876967
It will fail. Their “utopian” ideas never work and only ever create death and destruction. They care not.
I agree, but these are the things they sit around and think about rather than actually trying to mitigate disaster.
I just saw this on TGP:
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/01/smartla-2028-newsom-announces-marshall-plan-rebuild-new/
It reminds me of the OKC “bombing”, they had the Patriot Act waiting to get approved, but didn’t. Not until 9/11 did it pass..
It’s disgusting, areas are still burning, evacuations still happening, & he has the audacity to bring that out. Talk about jumping the gun, it takes a lot of time to plan stuff like that, this timing will make it look even more suspicious as to the lack of planning & preparedness, water released & lack of water storage, etc, etc. More backlash hopefully…
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH-whew!! Reading that was exhausting.
Heard that! The Kalifornians who I have met here in AZ seem to be quite red pilled and very happy to be gone from the Kalifornia madness and are willing to help resolve the AZ CHEAT machine.
Agree. The blaming of Cal. expatriots or refugees is a mistake.
Thats NOT what painted Az.Blue it was intentional manipulations by the Az. State Republican Party, run at the top by McStain RINOS.
THEY painted the State Blue, NOT any influx of new residents from California or Oregon.
Same for Austin, in Texas.
Just look at the Paxton Impeachment.
Not convinced NYS is actually “Blue” its just paintef that way, and its State Republican Parties that do the painting.
The insane left wing rag Daily Mail says it was because of New Year’s Eve fireworks. I’m not making this up.
Sure, you’ve stated the obvious, however has anyone listened carefully to Newsome’s interview where he stated explicitly in email biden has pledged Fed funds covering 100% of CA fire losses? So insurers pulled out either because of continuing lack of fire/forest management and prohibited from raising rates or were prescient of events about to unfold (note numbers of young foreign males setting fires through areas in LA. More unfettered transfer of wealth out of US coffers adding addl layers of complexity for Trump to unwind.
It appears that Gov. Newsom is begging for a new “Marshall Plan” to rebuild the place he and other leftists let burn.
How about we demand instead – a new “Nuremberg Trials” to impose accountability on those CA and L.A. officials who allowed this very preventable disaster to occur?
Please somebody make it happen!
They need a new version of the Mamas and the Papas, to sing –
California screamin’
They did “California’s Leaving”
See that thing burning that looks like a palm tree? It’s not a palm tree. It is Gavin Newsome’s political career going up in flames. Bye, Gavin.
Never underestimate the persistence of brainwashed Californian liberals. They seem to relish the pain.
Despite overwhelming evidence that Kamala is a moron, over 70 million people voted for her. Never overestimate Democrat voters.
I See Dead People!
Haley Joel Osment coincidentally lost his home in the fires.
40 million morons voted for her. The rest are manufactured ballots. The cheating in the blue states in HUGE.
The Red States that have machines have issues also. Here in Tennessee Harris did much much worse than Biden. However in several blue cities and counties Harris did about the same or even did better than Biden.
Those counties that are outliers are not magic places that Democrats just turn out to vote.
They are majic places of some type of manipulation.
I’d give just about anything for a 1 night count of paper ballots voted by people with ID here in WA. NO WAY is this state 60%+ blue. It’s what you get with 100% mail in voting.
You’re right, we got screwed when we went with the mail in ballots.
Oregon too
one was too many.
In spite of overwhelming evidence that Mitt Romney is a Democrat, over 60M people voted for him. Never overestimate Republican voters.
The biggest selling point for mitt romney was that he wasn’t barry sotero. Just barely.
Too late to edit: Actually, romney’s ONLY selling point…
We don’t actually know how many there were. Voter fraud was massively attempted, but this time the opposition was ready. They couldn’t conjure enough votes to pull her over the line. But, they tried.
But how many of those 70 million were illegal votes?
Yep
And he knows it. That is why he called China Joe to try and stop the mis and dis information about the fires.. He is TOAST.
Nope, nada, it’s not mis or dis information, it’s truth being spread… and he’s concerned it actually might cost him. I hope it does, all of those sick evil monsters need to go & out of politics. It’s sooo beyond incompetence at this point.
When I watched the video of some amazing flying acrobatics I started sobbing and sobbing..
Diabolical is the word I was looking for.
Remember the “peaceful protests” while they filmed in front of a city burning. Reminds me of that same lie. “Don’t believe your lying eyes”.
Drug induced, hypnotized, zombie citizens, reply? Can’t DEI has their tongue.

Many years ago, I attended a burn trauma conference. A lot of the info posed back then, was a response to healing the wounds. Prevention was only starting to come into a bigger focus. The biggest advance of those days, was the ‘fire retardant’ added to children’s pajamas. And the public service announcements about the dangers of children playing with matches…. checking children’s bath water temperatures and cautions around flammable chemicals.
This just leaves me numb.

Bless you for having the fortitude to work in a burn trauma unit. That’s a tough assignment for anyone.
Bless you Aggiegirl! I have a very deep appreciation for nurses.
It’s interesting that we haven’t heard much about burn victims or hospitals overwhelmed? Strangely quiet! 🤫
[email protected] has article on fire and observes that and many other things regarding the fires.
I just printed that article for my wife to read. As a retired OR RN, she keeps asking me if I had read or heard anything about hospitals in the fire areas just as Naomi alluded to.
I haven’t been calling it Califzuela for years for nothing.
And I was born at UCLA Medical Center in 1961 — and once prosperously went to college and worked over half of my life there (in the Bay Area, Orange County, and North San Diego County), managing to escape a dozen years ago after the writing was on virtually every wall (and taking a decade of finally convincing the wifey); it started with Reagan’s amnesty of illegal aliens in ’86 and the final nail in the dysfunctional tyrannical coffin was the election of the fraud Schwarzenegger as Governor following the successful recall of that idiot Gray Davis.

ditto, gone with the wind
I live in CA. Born and raised in 1950’s. Yes we have always has brush fires, but we’re mitigated by:
Fire brakes – no longer maintained to interrupt field mouse migration
Tree/brush management – shut down 30 saw mills to 0 today. Need the forest be maintained by nature
Water storage – discontinued under Jerry Brown the CA aceduect project designed to serve 40 million people to flush the SFBay to save the delta smelt
This all before the DEI, et DIE hiring!
Have the Blues in CA had enough?!?
Gosh, the forests, wildlife, animals, habitat…it truly makes me sick. Praying for all lives lost. It’s just unbelievable.
I hope reed walker and Tiffthis are ok and any other LA Treehousers I forgot.. what a mess..
The fires are a continuation of the liberal destruction of California. You can see what the downtowns look like from MetalLeo walking them on YouTube.
All the fires are doing is making the neighborhoods look like the downtowns. California wanted more illegals and homeless. Newsom sure knows how to get more quickly.
The Communists are blaming the fires on Climate Change. How about the downtown districts?
Also climate change. It’s even worse than global warming!
The climate did change after the Pacific Palisades wildfires. Have the firebugs been caught yet?
How about the reservoir that has been Devoid of water since February? How about the broken fire hydrants.
LA Mayor Bass and her DEI administration made sure there would not be enough water when the predicted Santa Ana winds came along to spread the fires, that seem very suspicious.
There are burned out homes in many neighborhoods, homeless rich and middle class Californians, seeking shelter, many seeking to rent houses until they are allowed into their neighborhoods. IMO an avoidable catastrophic.
4,700 people tasked with stopping fires???? Why is it not 100,000. They are not taking this seriously.
Oh stop
no water
*Santa Ana
Anyone remember the beginning of those May Day celebrations on college campuses in the late 60s and early 70s?
Ever wonder what that morphed into and why?
Someone cue Axl: Welcome to the jungle!
I just thought I would share some fantastic flying by brave people.
Excellent!
Amazing! God bless these heroes.
The second video is fantastic! 👏👏
Some of the clips could have actually
come from my area up on the mountains!
Yup…. I live in the SW.
When there is fire on the mountain only
about 1-2 miles from your house, and you
start seeing those helicopters coming and
going – and actually flying over your house-
No words can express the relief you feel!
I actually waved at them when I was outside!

I let them know! 👍👍👏👏
We have controlled burns all the time and
The Wildland Fire crews stay busy almost
year round. And we have a lot of them from

Fantastic! Reminds me of the crop dusters in rural America, only supersized.
They really need to know about hazards. There was an airplane water drop somewhere near here maybe 8 years ago, the plane landed with damage from some wires they had not been told about. Heads rolled, I think.
Those drone collisions are nothing to kid about.

I am unfortunately very sure that the death toll will be much, much higher.
How many died with COVID?

We may never know what really happened here. Letting obvious arsonists go from custody make no sense to rational people.
What ever happened in Hawaii??
We all must remember that DEI position installments must not be judged by competency in the position. It is not their fault that were expected to be able to actually fulfill the requirements of the position.
DEI, because it’s unfair that smart people get all the good jobs.
DEI, because it’s unfair that smart people get all the
goodmission critical jobs.It seems like their is a direct correlation between property values and the accuracy of the death toll in natural (?) disasters. SOCAL, it’s exactly 24, west north Carolina, 100, maybe 650, maybe more – does MSM really care?
Gives the significant reason behind the water shortage and it’s inexcusable.
Ep. 245: Los Angeles ON FIRE! Gavin Newsom FOR JAIL? Trump SENTENCED! Pardons & MORE! VIva & Barnes
12 Jan 2025
https://www.youtube.com/live/lLuKvDHAKYc?feature=shared&t=370
I just came upon an article that took me back. While all this attention is directed at these poor souls in California, the people of western North Carolina are living in desperate conditions and have been for months and it’s getting worse. And almost no attention from the media or Feds
There is a big difference between the ‘hills’ of Western North Carolina and the coastal areas of Southern California. … In the hills of North Carolina, people can >freeze to death without adequate shelter. … In contrast, it’s possible for people to live in a tent during the winter season, along the coastal areas of Southern California.
From the Internet, “California has the highest percentage of unsheltered homeless people among all U.S. states, with two-thirds of its homeless population sleeping on the streets, in encampments, or in their cars. Nearly one in four homeless people in the U.S., and 45% of unsheltered homeless people, live in California.” [Wikipedia]
People from all over the world move to Southern California for the climate, all the Free-Stuff, and the opportunity to live amongst the celebrities and movie stars.
Yes and people are running out of propane for heat and some are paying mortgage for homes that are gone. And most jobs are lost.
NC and Tenn are who are getting my disaster relief contributions!
I emailed Sundance to please bring this thing up.
Having perused multiple news/websites and every TV news cast what can be said that hasn’t already been said? Marxism is at the root of all of this and it’s too late for any remediation. The horse is out of the barn and it was the caretakers who left the barn door open. Will a lesson be learned? That remains to be seen but judging by the history of woktopia it’s a long shot.
Surely the citizens of CA will organize and successfully implement a recall of Newsom and the LA Mayor.
How much more incompetence management can the people of CA take?
All they have to do is vote red and my bet is they see their taxes lowered, regulations reduced, infrastructure investment and business’s and people return to the state.
So simple but yet they continue to vote for pain, suffering and ultimately destruction.
Voting for Democrats has consequences.
There was No Water in the Fire Hydrants to put out the fire
in Los Angeles (LA). This guaranteed that homes would be
burned to the ground.
Woke policies of Democrat politicians have systemically
destroyed California.
Today, I instructed Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs and our diplomats to prepare for the possible participation of our rescuers in combating the wildfires in California.
The situation there is extremely difficult, and Ukrainians can help Americans save lives.
This is currently being coordinated, and we have offered our assistance to the American side through the relevant channels. 150 of our firefighters are already prepared.
If you come, please bring suitcases of our American money back here with you!
Perhaps he could return some of the fire equipment Los Angeles sent Ukraine.
go away Z
Pacific Palisades – 2024 election
Harris – 71%
Trump – 27%
Will any of the 71% change their votes next time? I doubt it.
I do not believe that democrat voters ever connect their party’s policies to the disastrous results that ensue. The democrats/liberals/Marxists are very good at blaming others for their own failures.
Suspect arrested with ‘flamethrower’ near LA Fire is an illegal immigrant: report
https://nypost.com/2025/01/13/us-news/suspect-arrested-with-flamethrower-near-kenneth-fire-is-an-illegal-immigrant-report/
We just KNEW that was going to be the case.
WHO put him up to it,who paid him?
the Marxist doctrine of thesis, antithesis, and synthesis says that in order for something new to be formed, the old has to be met with an opposing force and the new thing will rise from the rubble, or in this case the ashes.
It is not so much that our modern day marxists love Islam, terrorism, climate change, DEI, etc. so much that those things create chaos and tear at the fabric of what they are aiming to destroy. These things are merely useful tools. It would seem that the object of destruction is Western Civilization which is based on love of Christ and love for fellow human. It could be the wish to destroy humanity.
The chaos we are seeing in CA and elsewhere is deliberate. Never ascribe to incompetence that which can rightly be ascribed to malevolence.
God, save us.
While LA is still burning, Newsom rolls out a fully formed plan to reimagine and build a city of the future where Angelenos’ homes and businesses once stood? Was the plan all along to save the cost of demolition by just letting it all burn? “Oh look. Isn’t that convenient that it is all gone! I just happen to have a plan here in my back pocket.” Yeah right.
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/01/smartla-2028-newsom-announces-marshall-plan-rebuild-new/
Uh oh. Is there something going on?
https://www.bitchute.com/video/BzKNe7OmYTtF/
This disaster exemplifies the need to hold politicians and government agencies civilly and criminally liable for their actions or inactions. Until we the people insist and follow through with making them accountable, it will just continue, because there are no consequences for failure.
while all this attention is focused on LA, no one is talking about the terror attacks in Louisiana, the Trump Hotel Las Vegas tesla bomb, etc. No one has talked about the hurricane victims in a while now.
Never let a [manufactured] crisis go to waste.
What the meme ought to show is NUSCUM counting all the $$$$$$ he is about to receive.
I was also thinking along the same line.
newscum’s photo gives an impression of deep thought, as if he is considering and feeling bad for the situation.
find one of him counting money, or seated at a nice luncheon or dinner with extravagant settings.
Beating of the Horse of climate change since the late 50s has left nothing but dust on the ground.
Climate change doesn’t run around starting fires dressed in Firefighters uniforms or looting people house.
Why is it these climate people never mention once the approaching 50+ whales on both coast who have run aground from the electric current running thru the water disrupting everything about them.
Obviously, there are a lot of contributing factors here and plenty of speculation.
But let us not discredit the hand of God Almighty in all things.
Not to minimalism Life but for as big as the fires are vs the population, 24 deaths is very low.
Tie up President Trump in “natural disasters caused by climate change” for his term in office with the usual billions in pay outs with 80% going to fraud and waste.
I couldn’t have come up with a better Democommunist plan.
I was gonna get wordy and explain why I’m writing this but … more important to cut to the chase:
In the middle of all the tragic chaos in California, I ask it’s citizens to pray for God’s Help. With the disorientation that can come from real time loss, I ask that they stop for a moment, and ask God for Help. Thank you.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “… if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
The death count seems as strangely low as that of the NC/TN flooding, particularly for a dense population like LA.
Back in 1906, an earthquake was followed by fires that burned for days across San Franciso with over 3000 dead and 80% of city destroyed.
Money sent to San Franciso reconstruction was said to have contributed to the Banking Panic of 1907 as Bank of England raised its rates, insurers payouts and other shocks.
The fallout on our economy will ripple out.
https://www.kunstler.com/p/climate-jeezus-taketh-away
What was the population of that area? Even as the banks foreclose on the destroyed lands inch by inch, the names of the dead will live on at the register of voters.
LA (the County) is huge. Even LA City is quite large, due to what is now the “city” having been given rights to all the Los Angeles River watershed during colonial days, so the “city” had great power through allocating water.
I just finished reading Kunstler’s blog from today. The quote at the top was a doozy… And he does have some good points about it will effect the economy & how it’s already affecting the people now.
““So-called progressives finally achieved what they supposedly warned of but in truth wished for: the eviction of the affluent descendants of colonizers, the incineration of their homes, and the destruction of a city that, more than any other, represents our bloody history of white supremacy and conquest.” — Michael Shellenberger”
And he has a quote from Nancy Davis, Reagan’s daughter, she hasn’t been red-pilled yet…
“My anger over what we have done to this fragile, exquisite Earth was muffled by grief until the other evening when I was watching a news program that had a panel of commentators. The subject was Los Angeles on fire, and one person mentioned climate change as a cause. Another commentator smirked and said he didn’t believe it was the cause.
I felt rage surge up past my grief.
My first thought was: “You think you know more than scientists?”
This problem of management has been happening for a long time. The coastal elites have the popluation centers and they use it to their benefit. We the people of California voted way back in the early 90’s on Proposition 187 to NOT GIVE illegals any free medical, schooling, etc. Yet the government of California took us to court and orverturned our decision.
Not all of California is liberal, but they do have the population so it is extremely hard to overcome it.
State of Jefferson!!!!
How many were vagrants camped in the bushes. Which ones set off the fires in the first place?

Where did all the displaced people go?

Please keep an eye out for anomalies in the news stories.
Specifically look for blue objects and blue roof structures that did not burn, even though everything burned around the undamaged structure or objects.
Look for flammable trees, such as conifers, that did not burn, even though they were immediately next to a structure which burned to the ground.
Lastly look for vehicles with melted glass and melted aluminum rims, which do not melt in the temperatures supported by forest fires. Look for signs that the fires began in the metal nails and hardware in fences and other structures.
These are the kinds of anomalies encountered in the Maui, Paradise, CA and other fires over the last few years.
Please save any images or videos with such evidence, if you encounter them.
I am beginning to see images of areas with complete incineration of the structures, but trees appearing to be unharmed by the fires.
Common sense says that if a ground fire gets to all the plastic on a modern car, it will ignite and burn at an exponentially hotter temperature because of all the plastics and rubber. Not an anomaly.
In many forest fires there are always areas where the ground is scorched but the trees remain. Not an anomaly.
Have you ever seen images of towns completely destroyed by tornadoes or hurricanes, except for 1 or 2 houses? Not an anomaly.
The “arborist” who claims in videos that all trees burn when he throws branches on his campfire doesn’t understand temperature. Don’t you think that windy flames high up in a forest are much cooler than dense coals in a ground campfire?
Ever fail to light a stick on fire with a match or lighter but when you poke it in coals it easily lights?
Will burning plastic attain the temperatures required to melt aluminum and/or glass?
I don’t disagree with your examples of things that are not necessarily anomalies in fires and hurricanes/tornados.
I was going to attach a picture of the Lahaina waterfront blue umbrellas and car that were untouched by fire, but they appear to have been scrubbed from the internet.
Sorry, I have to work. I don’t have time to provide the proof that I am not off-base.
Keep your mind open and look at the evidence more closely. The “arborist” also has photos that clearly show that some the fires started at the metallic objects embedded in wood structures. This suggest the use of a directed energy weapon using microwaves. It is my understanding that classified ultra-high power microwave directed energy weapons have existed since the 1970’s.
I have been looking for those having Eric West videos regarding the Lahaina fires. I don’t see unburned blue cars and melted rims in this Calf fire ruins. There is more debris that is recognizable -applliances, walls etc. In Lahaina fire, buildings were literally pulverized to ash with blue cars untouched.
IBHS, Institute for Business and Home Safety testing wind tunnel embers on wood framing at Maximus Aviation. The Santa Anna winds occur when there is high pressure over Sacramento (clockwise winds) and low pressure over Baja (anti-clockwise winds). Conditions were known and results were intentional
UCSD has building test center with a earthquake simulation shake table and hurricane wind tunnel, where they test multistory construction methods. Engineers work hard to protect the Health, Safety and Welfare of the public.
Excellent video, as the sequences in the video, demonstrate how a home (any building) can be more fire resistant with proper >design, and usage of particular materials. … Building Codes and Zoning regulations are designed to protect ‘The Common Good’ in our society. … The State of Florida has implemented a building code program to try and prevent hurricane-damage to homes in Florida. … Obviously, Southern California needs improvements to home design and materials used in home construction in particular areas in Southern California.
Any fire needs Fuel, Oxygen, and Heat for the ignition. … The seasonal winds can carry embers for miles during the dry (low humidity) months. … The only viable option for fire mitigation is to reduce the >fuel needed to have a fire. … The video demonstrates how materials and creating a defensive space around the home can mitigate the spread of fire. +California and many local counties have Free pamphlets about creating such Defensive Spaces.
As a note about the needed ‘brush clearing’ around the ‘open spaces’ in Southern California. … Large herds of Goats will willingly gobble free food near the homes. … The expensive of the goats would smaller than the salaries of many useless public employees. [Another note: The goats themselves would NOT ‘payoff’ the crooked politicians.]
I’ve seen small herds of goats used to clear flammable brush in certain areas of Northern California. Goats eat just about everything.
There is a need for the creation of passive measures to prevent the spread of fires. … There is another problem with the ‘homeless’ and others camping on public land, and then endangering everyone else in the community. [The homeless also contribute to the spread of diseases, trash and garage on the streets, plus the homeless are also >notorious for turning public sidewalks into public toilets.]
For the Common Good, the activities of the scoff-laws in our society have to be restricted. … [Maybe, borrow from the Muslims and use public ‘foot slapping’ on the scoff-laws, >judges, >politicians, and advocacy groups that promote behaviors by the homeless and others, that destroy society and the Common-Good.
About ‘Freedom’ in any society. … The rights of others and society itself prohibits some activities that endanger everyone else. [Excessive speeding in cars and failure to obey traffic laws for instance.] … Intentionally allowing the homeless and others to destroy a city is contrary to common-sense, and the Common-Good.
The ruling class need to look out when the people in LA who have lost everything and have nothing left to lose notice a few similarities.
Trying to figure out your point. Yes, a lot of outside money has bought up land in Hawaii (you could add Ellison who bought out the old Castle&Cooke land on Lanai, Oprah in upcountry Maui, etc.). Much of Zuckerberg’s land he got as a “fire sale” from local business man Jimmy Pflueger who inherited it. Pflueger got in trouble when a dam from the old sugar plantation reservoir on his land failed in a rainstorm and the state sued him out of existence. As far as the Robinsons, they are descended from a New Zealand matriarch who bought the land from King Kamehemeha IV and Princess Victoria Kamamalu in the 1860s. After Sugar Reciprocity Treaty negotiated with the US, a couple of grandsons formed Gay&Robinson sugar which at one time was the most productive in the world. That plantation along with nearby Grove Farm (now owned by Steve Case) eventually closed due to high cost of production in Hawaii.
One man and a garden hose saving his home… is an allegory for our times.
Remember what determination, smarts, and bravery can do… when all is in flames around you.
It has been four months and they are still finding bodies in North Carolina and East Tennessee. Thirty inches of rain in 24 hours – unknowable; Santa Anna Wind driven fires – predictable. California is a failed state and as such will reap all the benefits of the kleptocracy for their tragedy. NC and TN get nothing.
Let’s see what happens. Less than seven full days until there is a new Sheriff in town. Prayers up for Helene victims.
NOT MY RECON;
Good stuff passed to me by a buddy from a SEC sports board. Social banter edited out;
I spent almost an hour talking about fires with my buddy Phil tonight. Phil is a smokejumper for the US Forest Service. Before that he was a heli-attack for the Interagency Fire Management Center out of Boise. That is the national HQ for all wildfires. There are 9 mother17ing agencies involved in wildfires at the national level. Some fires require 7-8 to get involved. Problem #1 right there. Of course each agency has a different agenda so it’s usually a **** show and that doesn’t even include the state and local agencies.
Look up the acronyms on your own.
While talking to Phil tonight (and we never even mentioned LA) an old codger named Dan walked in with his wife. Dan’s an old retired smokejumper. He brings a crew in once a month of 10 old retired jumpers and they pound beer like college kids. Anyhow, he sat down in chimed in as well.
They both agree that weather is by far the biggest factor. They also love prescribed burns, but it’s hard to make a dent so they only focus on susceptible areas. For our area it’s a very short window in October and possibly early November that it can happen. This year we went straight from extreme fire danger to heavy snow and they got a week’s worth of burns in before there was to much snow on the ground.
Where Dan and Phil differed is how fires should be addressed.
Dan is old school. He says smokejumpers suppress fires. That’s our job. If there’s a flame we’re there to put it out. Initial Attack is the saying and waiting around is never rewarded.
Phil is new school. He says natural fires need to burn. Only structures need be protected. Fires caused by mother nature on public land not threatening anything need to run their natural course. While not pleasant, it’s necessary. If we keep putting fires out, the next one will be even bigger.
We have had these conversations in the past. I tend to agree with Phil and I will explain why. Like I mentioned in the other thread, the smokejumpers and tanker pilots are just a stones throw away from my restaurant and bar. They come in all the time and in the summer so get government contracts to feed the hotshot crews.
I myself was a forestry student myself once. I learned enough to know I didn’t want to get bit by cottonmouths walking around the woods for not much more than minimum wage at the time and transfered to forest products. Where the real money is… making $3-4/hr over minimum wage.
Anyways. We learned about southern forestry practices. Lots of corporate and private softwood plantations and natural hardwood stands. There obviously wasn’t a huge focus on the west, at least for my coursework.
But the similarities are here . From 1900 -1960 we cut almost every 17ing old growth tree in this country down. In the south everyone planted genetically modified fast growing loblolly pine to increase fiber yield per acre. In the west, it was just left to regenerate. Well, that’s the rub.
The predominant species of tree in western fire country should be Redwoods and Ponderosa pines. When healthy and mature, it takes a hell of fire to do damage to either of these. When young they burn. When old and sick they burn.
Here’s a healthy ponderosa in my backyard. That bark is 6″ thick and it’s a long way up to something that will burn.
“No picture in transfer”0
So throughout the millinia before man got involved, these forests would often have fires that killed off old sick trees and young trees, but leave mature trees standing that would produce more you trees and so forth. Every once and a while a 17ing rebel lodgepole pine would take up residence in the neighborhood, but the next fire got that sucker.
Sure some fires wiped everything out, but often enough it was more selective. Well as soon as we start clear cutting old growth healthy forest in 1900 when the railroads arrived, we 17ed up the natural cycle. Now those clear-cut lands are where trash trees grow. They don’t have small fires with lodgepoles, they burn like diapers filled with kerosene.
Unlike the south, it’s virtually impossible to replant western timberland with seedlings in mass scale. The terrain is to difficult and so much of the land is public land and cut on contract. So when have ended up with 65-120 years worth of trash out west and 2nd or 3rd generations of lab modified ultra fast growth plantation pine in the south. The trash out west burns like a mofo and the trash in the south is half as strong and twice as crooked.
We 17ed with mother nature and are now dealing with it. I want less government, not more. We could triple the forest/fire services budget and we’d still not be able to stop wildfires. And it would have to triple again in a few years as it keeps getting exponentially worse.
I have a saying… I often use it when talking about transgender bullshìt.
If creationism and evolution both agree that you’re wrong, you probably are… In forestry/land management we have screwed up God’s will and/or the natural evolution of things… Either way there’s a price to pay.
As for LA. Don’t really care, but I hope it draws some attention to the overall subject. I figured the rioters would have burned it down a long time ago in a Sodom and Gomorrah situation. But from the wildfires I have seen, trying to use a city water system with 6-12” pipes supplying hydrants is not going to do much. It takes mother nature’s help and weeks worth of work to make the fire double back on itself and run out of fuel to control wildfire.
TLDR. We 17ed around with mother nature in the south and ruined the quality of our lumber and diversity of our forests. We 17ed around with mother nature in the west and ruined the quality of our forests and diversity of our lumber. End of post.

Should have been worried about diversity, just not at the federal, state, county or city level.
Trees are gender fluid, no?
Awesome, thanks for the info. Before we massacred the Native Americans with blankets with smallpox, shipping them off to reservations, etc, they were tending the forests, in storage I have an interesting book about the subject,”Forgotten Fires: Native Americans and the Transient Wilderness”
