Chubb and its subsidiaries stopped writing new policies for high-value homes with higher wildfire risk. Allstate has stopped writing new policies, and Tokio Marine America Insurance Co. and Trans Pacific Insurance Co. pulled out of the state, though Mercury Insurance offered to take their customers.
Liberty Mutual was sued last month by a homeowner who accused the insurer of dropping her over a bogus claim that her roof had mold damage.
“Driven by a desire to maximize profits, property casualty insurance companies … have engaged in a troubling trend of dropping California homeowners’ insurance policies like flies,” said the complaint, filed in San Diego County Superior Court. A spokesperson for Liberty Mutual declined to comment on the litigation.

To be fair, electric motors have a lot better torque than combustion motors, which is better acceleration. An electric motor is not great at high velocity and of course long duration. This is why you see hybrid electric/diesel trains, where the initial start is an electric motor. And it’s why you see EVs win drag racing competitions.
Something like a heavy, full tank, fire engine would have better maneuverability with an electric motor, where high velocity is not required. I would still be concerned about continuous operation, but I hope it has a diesel engine for running the pumps.

I see so many things that are coming out about the absolute incompetence and corruption in California and LA governance. There are LA Democrats that are really mad that their selected officials have failed them. Them. Many are calling for Newsom and Bass to resign.

I told ’em I’d help. But their printing was so messed up that we had to go back and get that right, first. Once that was done, we proceeded to cursive- *easily*.
Going back and unlearning several years of egregiously sloppy/barely legible printing was the hardest part. Hard to break old habits.

I need a fact-check on my current assumptions about rebuilding after the fire:
1. It can take years to get anything approved in normal times in California. The backlog from the fire could push it out a decade.
2. The cost of building a custom home in California is roughly double the market value of the home when done.
3. The new home will get a property tax step-up to become unaffordable for anyone who owned the original home for a decade or more.
4. The fire risk will return once everything regrows, and insurance companies will not come back. Here I assume continued state incompetence.
5. There are not enough qualified builders to rebuild.
6. Owners would be rebuilding in the midst of unchecked and growing crime.
The Dumbasspora will be coming to a Red Spot near you.

We all saw this coming. Those EVs sitting in garages in Pacific Palisades certainly didn’t help.
Yesterday I mentioned the cargo ship carrying numerous EVs that caught fire off the coast of Netherlands. It took one week for them to put out that fire, that was just one cargo ship. They believed the cause of the Fire was one of the EVs.
In Nashville, one of our Titans players lost his entire home to fire because the charger for his Tesla caught on fire. Thankfully, that fire did not spread to other homes in the area.
Actually there were two ships carrying EVs that caught fire within a year. This one actually sank. There are numerous reports out that insurance for these cargo ships has increased dramatically.
These things are ticking time bombs…perhaps that is a feature not a flaw.

It looks relatively neat because of the two straight breaks top and bottom but those are a function of the strike happening between two rib-like interior structures, the tear on the right is anything but a clean cut, and the left side isn’t a hinge, it is simply bent.
Military Aircraft was my two and half decade career, including crash recovery and investigations, and I’ve seen stuff; this is precisely what they said it was, it appears to be a glancing blow.

President Trump appears to have Muriel Bowser under control – but the surrounding jurisdictions? The ones to which two of the main bridges spanning the Potomac River connect? (And at a time when the GW Parkway is a complete disastrous, almost impassable mess, while the road conditions of the other evacuation routes are also a perpetual disgrace (and have been for over a decade))?
Not so much.
Just from a logistics standpoint, if there were an incident in DC on the 20th, and the Metro system was impacted, it would take very little LA style “incompetence” on behalf of these two counties to create a truly godawful situation.
I think Naomi Wolf is correct. It’s a hot war under all the Narrative disguise.
I have been surprised at the way Team Trump has had such smooth sailing, and clear domestic submission by many previously opposed forces.
It makes me think the foreign entities who stand to lose so much see the same thing, and are therefore highly motivated to strike.
