My ex-wife is a logistics manager for a major UK military industrial contractor.

Let’s start with homeowners. Most homeowner policies do not specifically exclude coverage for terrorism. The closest they come is an exclusion for war, including undeclared war, civil war, insurrection, rebellion, or revolution. The acts of terrorism that we commonly hear about do not seem to fall within this definition, although the words “insurrection” and “revolution” may give some cause for concern.
What’s interesting is you can burn your own home down. It becomes arson and a crime when you file an insurance claim to recover against it as a “loss”.
I’m a few might want to burn their own house down to take advantage of the situation, but 95%+ are directly due to the fire. If they did “help” things along the chances of getting caught are slim if they’re in the thick of it (surrounded by homes burn but there’s didn’t).
None of the individual house fires are gonna be investigated by the FD unless they’re or a police officer see something suspicious. Insurance company investigators (which most of the time are better) might.
For instance when I had vehicles fires I found a general origin and cause. Insurance company investigators might dive deeper and determine exactly what caused the fire. I could figure if it started in the engine compartment, passenger compartment, etc along with a general area. I wouldn’t try to figure what component unless obvious or it was a strip and burn in the middle of nowhere with nothing left of the vehicle once we arrived at scene.
I don’t know what LA City Fire policies are but if this was my fire where I was the first arriving company officer my fire report (preliminary origin and cause investigation) would have to identify a cause for each and every, structure, out building, vehicle, etc – you aren’t gonna “investigate each one. Part of the Incident Command Team has a group that identifies and catalogs each building, vehicle, etc that burned.

I took the physical ability test for Fresno City sicker than a dog and still completed it in time, they dumbed it done so females could pass.
A lot of guys went to paramedic school, not because they cared but because that was an easy way to get a fire job, mid-90’s/early-2000’s is when paramedic upgrades occurred. Easy to get a job On an ambulance in LA City running 30 calls a day, do a good job for a few years and lateral/transfer to an engineer truck company.

On another subject-Chris Carr, current AG of Georgia, is running for Georgia Governor now that Governor Kemp can no longer run. Carr is all over X advertising that he is a strong conservative running for governor.
It’s interesting to me that I have heard very little from Carr over the last many years he has been AG. Now he has come out of the woodwork claiming his conservative credentials.
I remember the 2020 election when there were reported a large number of irregularities in the GA election. Many Georgians wanted investigations into the evidence except for Raffensperger, GA SOS. Never heard anything from
AG Carr that I remember. Fulton County became a national disgrace with all their election shenanigans, but Carr was nowhere to be found.
Then the Fulton County DA got real aggressive on Lawfare activists against President Trump and other Trump supporters. You would think a conservative AG would at least show some interest. Maybe I missed it, but don’t recall any interest from Carr.
Not to pick on Fulton County, but I can’t help it. They keep doing things that a state AG should show a little interest in. Like the Fulton County jail. An investigation showed the jail was performing unconstitutionally because of prisoners safety and the absolute filth. Seems like an AG would want to look into this. Maybe he is, but haven’t heard.
It just seems to me tha Carr has come out during election time touting his credentials to become governor. Surely we can find someone who really means it. I’m thinking he’s just another Establishment Politician.
Now if he happens to read this I would welcome a response as to what he has actually done to advance election integrity in Georgia. Any jail time for anyone. I’m sure someone has broken GA law.
