Four “supervisors” read their standard – “were so sorry” script. I told them they work in the customer service department, not the sincere apology dept: retrieve my package and stick it on a plane for overnight delivery. That is customer service!

USPS losing packages seems to be what they do best. That and stomping n packages clearly marked “fragile” and “glass”. I am currently waiting on a package from my daughter in California. It got to the Memphis facility 6 days ago and according to tracking its working its way through the network. Suspicious cat here again. Can you tell this isn’t the first time Memphis has “lost” packages.

From what I can tell, my package is still in Tucson after 2 days and hasn’t started on the trip back east. Certainly it’s not even close to the worst thing that can happen, just disappointing. My brother and I talk by phone while we open our presents to each other – just our thing.
As I told the folks I talked to, you are a bloated bureaucracy with no accountability, unable to live within your budget, and I hope we totally privatize the USPS.

I’m so glad an honest person found your card. My son dropped his debit card in a California Walmart. The crook who found it zeroed out his bank balance, his entire disability check. What a nightmare for him and the police wouldn’t take a report. His credit union worked with him to close the account, open a new one, informed SSI and issued a new debit card. Sure made for a rough month for him.
I’ve done the go round with the post office several times. Memphis is especially bad and there’s never anything they do. Getting rid of DEI hires would be a Godsend.

Side note I always love these stories…and headlines….There are so many stranded in shelters…and many get returned….”untrainable”..
My BFF started a dog training business about 5 years ago… for average dog owners…looking for the family dog, and her goal was to keep dogs from being returned to the shelters. She partnered with some local shelters, to educate people about Fido and why Fido does what he does (or doesn’t) do. Many shelters by us now require some form of dog training, incorporated to the adoption agreement.
She is wildly popular now….and her success rate is beyond belief.

I will share that with her! It wasn’t easy….the world of dog training is a cut throat and sometimes snarky business….hard work and determination…as an outsider…(where have we heard that before?).
She hated seeing dogs returned to rescue or shelters. People expect their newly adopted dog to know everything…and they can’t if they haven’t been taught the basics.
She had to jump thru a lot of regulatory hoops, and did so with style and grace. I think she is even a member of the C of C now…(well ya gotta do what ya gotta do in the business world.).

Years ago, we stopped and picked up 2 pitbulls who were in the median of I-19. I was caring for my dad at home under hospice and already had 5 dogs. It pained me, but we had to take them to our local no-kill shelter.
Well, the male pit bull just couldn’t adjust to any adopter and was repeatedly brought back.
We’d been following his lack of progress and met with the program director to see if there was a solution. She said if we were willing to pay for a trainer, things might work out – and they did! He got a forever home.
I think your friend’s business could be a model for all shelters. Bravo!

PSA for Cursday…
All ya all know about my newbie who is now full size….and how scared I was when I took the 6 1/2 lb puppy out to pee at night when I started hearing the hoot of the night time owls…especially when one night, he brought a friend with him.
The owls are back…I heard one the other night…and he sounded BIG!. During summer, I have also seen some birds that look suspiciously like Bald Eagles, too…so I don’t take chances…
I don’t know what the weight limit is on what they can ‘snatch’, but again…not taking chances…so all y’all beware.
I had a real problem for some time with large owls hauling off my little kitties. I fixed it.
I got one of those large high beam flashlights that put out a really bright light. Whenever I heard the owls at night I went out, flashlight in hand, and found the owls, usually perched up high in some tree or on a utility post.
I would shine the light in their face. They would turn their head to get rid of the light. I would move till the light was in their eyes again. It would take several minutes but they would give up and fly off.
After several nights of doing this they just stopped coming here to hunt.
I’ ve had many times owls atop trees nearby my last places and never thought to shine them away! Those suckers are loudly majestic and yeah. They HUNT.
Owls and raptors will attack animals they are unable to carry, but are able to wound, possibly fatally, with their talons.
Zane Grey would be a tough carry!
Racoons will go for the eyes of dogs; had one knock out our niece’s dog’s eye out of its socket; somehow the vet saved it and luckily he had limited sight.
Her next dog, a toy terrier, we were babysitting it while her family went on vacation; I let it out at night to do its business, heard a loud yip, and never saw him again; husband said it sounded like coyotes got him. She still doesn’t talk to me.
All I can say, if you let the little one out at night it won’t hurt to stand by and keep a watch on him, and have a broom or something handy if you hear a ‘yip’.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Horrible, after trying all morning to pay my bill online and getting blinking pages.
Made a phone call to AT&T.
The person answering the call put me thorough much of the same with blinking pages no help.
30 minutes later he says “let me transfer you to someone that can help”.
That person after seconds did what I asked paid my bill
I asked her why he couldn’t do the same.
You won’t believe the answer… “he was working from home’
omg .. so in the future when talking to AT&T, ask first if they are working from home and get transferred.

A reunion at the airport between 88 y/o Father and his 55 y/o son, after being separated for one week.
The son has Down Syndrome, or as the Babylon Bee would call him, “retarded.”
Those with DS are born with an extra chromosome, and they are some of the most loving, affectionate people on earth.
Sometimes I wonder if “we” are the ones with a “missing” chromosome?
