I do not believe that Chauvin’s actions single-handedly led to the death of a hopeless drug addict. But, I do believe that it was an assault. Once a man is down and in handcuffs, you can just step back and let him flop around, because now he isn’t going anywhere and can’t hurt anybody but himself. When the police van arrives, pick him up bodily and throw him in the back. If he dies on the way to the hospital, that’s not your problem. But, that’s not what this man or his colleagues actually did.
“What they did” was not Murder, but I do believe that it was a crime.
Their training told them to do exactly what Chauvin did, and even included a picture of restraining the perp with a knee to the neck. This was to prevent self inflicted injuries to the arrested person if he showed drug intoxication as Floyd did.
Freddie Gray did that in Baltimore.
That’s the opinion of a police detective I know, that the only thing he could come up with was that Gray was trying to hurt himself.
That’s what the man claiming it wasn’t what it looked like was talking about.
If you saw more than one video, you could see that he didn’t have a knee on the man’s neck.
Not only was he trained to use that hold but the disallowed forensic reports of “out side” corners reported the perp in the Chauvin case did not die from the hold, but the drugs.
Floyd was faking a medical emergency to facilitate an escape attempt. Chavin knew this. Floyd was on the ground AFTER being removed from a cruiser to wait for EMS. Floyd had faked medical emergency during a previous arrest.
Chauvin might me a lot of things, but he did not murder Floyd. Like a lot of other people, he is in jail unjustly. At a minimum, should have been an immediate change of venue. He deserves a new trial.

Also, Floyd was seated in the police car and started screaming…I CAN’T BREATHE while he was in the back seat that he needed to get out of the car. Chauvin took him out and waited for the EMT to arrive instead.

As if the smoke screen involving the “mysterious drones” in the US could not get more complicated on the US domestic front. Now there are “mysterious” drones over the USAF-RAF base in the UK where the US stores “nuclear gravity” weapons that can be dropped by a Fighter Bomber.
NATO, the EU, the UK and US know all there is to know about the drones … that is NOT the troubling aspect of this story. More troubling is the note that “Nuclear Gravity” weapons, which can be carried by a Fighter Bomber (i.e. a NATO-Ukrainian F-16 for example) are now located close enough to be easily delivered to the Ukraine for use (by a NATO “Volunteer” Pilot after a “miraculous Ukrainian Operation” to swipe them from the UK Base).
This explains why the Russians have made their dire warnings about nuclear weapons.
These also represent a THREAT, by NATO to give them to the Ukrainians and/or something the US-NATO Puppet in the Ukraine will demand as part of the “peace” plan. These are the Nuclear Weapons Zelensky had in mind when demanded Nuclear Weapons be made available to his regime.

I do believe someone is messing with the internet. I am no longer allowed to look at Zero hedge articlez. Amazon is not functioning properly. E-mails are not being sent. On top of that, I am getting 8-12 phone calls a day on my landline that say they are from cities in Florida and there is a strange Chinese woman on my Facebook Messenger app.
A basic thing that you need to understand about “VOIP = Voice Over IP” (internet telephone …) is that the call can be made to appear to originate from a choice of many thousands of phone numbers in every area code. So that they hope you will answer the call because you believe it comes from “a neighbor or a friend.” But the caller could be anywhere on earth. And, these days, there’s a good chance that it will actually be a “bot.”
I unfortunately have found that out. One call was from a friend from long ago, but I think it was an insurance call. Didn’t give them much time for me to find out. I have had calls from every little town around here and even some from my town. Now I don’t answer my phone (landline) unless I have left a message with someone.
I was going to offer you some advice until I see from your last paragraph that you don’t need it. I rarely answer my phone if I don’t know who is calling. If a number is persistent, I “answer” but I don’t say anything. Either it disconnects or a recorded message begins, upon which I disconnect.
Another tip I probably got from a CTH commenter: If the caller asks you, “Is this (yourname)?” don’t answer “yes”as your recorded response can be used for nefarious purposes. Instead of responding with “yes,” respond with”What is YOUR name?”

Run a malware app such as Malwarebytes, then an antivirus scan.
If you haven’t cleared your browser cache in a while try that as well.
And you browser app may be corrupted, try reinstalling that if the above doesn’t help.
Years ago I had similar issues. Here’s a few things to try: Switch your browser to Brave or Firefox; use a paid VPN or free Proton VPN; switch to a free protonmail email account; set up landline to only accept calls from recognized numbers (i have mine set at 30); and stop using any Meta product (e.g., Facebook, IG, etc.). That would be a solid start.
Have you cleared your cookies, updated all your programs, installed a program such as Malwarebytes (they have a free version) that will keep trojans and other programs from being uploaded onto your devices?
Asking because when I’ve had these situations it came back to cleaning up browsing history and doing scans to remove the unwanted elements.
I was getting those number of calls too, all with fake caller ID, for several months, at first trying to “help me” pick the right Medicare supplement policy and when that deadline ended for several days they actually did the extended car warranty routine – I burst out laughing so hard, and crazy as it is – those calls have completely stopped.
Facebook has a process where you can go in and block people, such as the Chinese woman on the messenger app. Use the search bar in the upper left hand corner of the Facebook home page, keywords could be blocking people, and follow their instructions. That should stop those type of intrusions into your messenger apps.
There is something going on that we don’t know about, Warren is indeed trying to give the drug companies a free pass, but that doesn’t absolve the insurance companies either.
You can talk to different people and get a different angle on it, but Warren is also out there screaming and attacking the people like RFK Jr. and Elon Musk who might fix what is wrong.
There’s also the fact that instead of calling for more gun laws, they used the cold-blooded murder of a man for some other political purpose; we just don’t know what that is.

Gaetz (R-Fla.) resigned from Congress on Nov. 13 when President-elect Donald Trump announced him as as his pick for attorney general — before Gaetz withdrew eight days later due to Senate Republican concerns about those allegations.
The Republican-led Ethics Committee’s secret vote occurred sometime in December, CNN first-reported Wednesday, and the document is expected to be released sometime before the end of the month.

I wanted to read the full 1,500+ page bill & speak with key leaders before forming an opinion. Having done that, here’s my view:
it’s full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO.
Keeping the government open until March 14 will cost ~$380BN by itself, but the true cost of this omnibus CR is far greater due to new spending.
Renewing the Farm Bill for an extra year: ~$130BN.
Disaster relief: $100BN. Stimulus for farmers: $10BN.
The Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement: $8BN.
The proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending. The legislation will end up hurting many of the people it purports to help.
Debt-fueled spending sprees may “feel good” today, but it’s like showering cocaine on an addict: it’s not compassion, it’s cruelty.
Farmers will see more land sold to foreign buyers when taxes inevitably rise to meet our obligations.
Our children will be saddled with crippling debt.
Interest payments will be the largest item in our national budget. Congress has known about this deadline since they created it in late September.
There’s no reason why this couldn’t have gone through the standard process, instead of being rushed to a vote right before Congressmen want to go home for the holidays.

It’s indefensible to ram these measures through at the last second without debate.

I have no idea how to account for this but when I had cataract surgery this fall, the information provided to me from the surgical center (one of a large chain in the northwest) included a paragraph informing me that the surgeons who ran the group (including my surgeon) were part and joint owners of the surgery.
Fun fact/recommendation: my surgeon was Dr. Wm. Flanary, a cheerful, amenable, and professional guy who I appreciated very much. I found out something fun about him when I checked back in with my optometrist after the surgery.
The optometrist saw the name, got wide-eyed, chuckled, and said, “Did you know that Dr. Flanary is world famous?” Why, no. I did not.
Turns out he has a Tic-Toc channel where he comments as Dr. Glaucomflecken, on the state of the medical industry today. He is hilarious…..passed the info on to my primary the other day, who shares the same views. Dr. Glaucomflecken feels exactly as we do about the present mess.

I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED. Not even a campaign finance violation. And the people investigating me hated me.

Months later, Cassidy appeared out of nowhere at her now infamous public J6 hearing, making completely outlandish claims untethered from reality — many of which were rightly disputed or shot down within minutes. But you may also recall that after Cassidy’s appearance, Liz Cheney put up a bizarre anonymous message on a big screen, allegedly received by Cassidy before her (aforementioned) private deposition. Cheney claimed it was evidence of “witness intimidation.”
The anonymous message Cheney displayed read, partly: “He (Meadows) told me you have your deposition tomorrow. He knows you’re loyal, and you’re going to do the right thing when you go in for your deposition.” Via public news reports, I later learned this was in reference to me. It was a completely twisted, utterly nonsense re-telling of the phone convo where Cassidy had fretted to me about “loyalty.” She (and the Committee) embellished parts of the exchange, made up others, and spun it into a lie that appeared like witness intimidation. The J6 Committee presented this account as factual — when it wasn’t — and then leaked my name to reporters to create the narrative that I was guilty.”
In the weeks and months that followed, I faced accusations of criminal exposure over it – all over nonsense. Members like Dan Goldman publicly accused me of “witness tampering.” The FBI called me in for hours of questioning. Meanwhile, the J6 Committee never once followed up with me or my attorneys to ask me about this interaction before uncritically airing the dishonest version. It was all based on fabrications, yet the J6 Committee never even bothered to get the other side. It’s one of many reasons why none of their claims about President Trump, or frankly anyone else, should ever be believed.
This is just one story in a long list, and relatively, I ended up one of the lucky ones. But I’m glad to see the report today take the J6 Committee and their ‘star witness’ to task. They spread an untold amount of falsehoods about my friends, colleagues, and bosses, and forced many good people to defend themselves in ways they should’ve never had to. I will never forget it.”

At the end of the 117 enormously verbose report about Jan 6, this was the last sentence of Loudermilk’s conclusion:
“These crimes must be fully investigated and individuals held responsible to maintain the trust of

Ridiculous because I thought that was what Loudermilk’s committee was suppose to be doing!. I like Loudermilk and I believe he is honest but because politicians don’t criticize other politicians, only an outside entity can provide a decent report with a REAL CONCLUSION AND POINT FINGERS At THE OFFENDING PARTIES. Although I did find that Peelosi’s name was mentioned multiple times but then Loudermilk gave her a pass because she said later she was responsible which was never said with much conviction and nobody followed up on it anyway.

dixie, Congress cannot bring charged in court. They have no prosecutorial powers. For better or for worse the only power given them in this regard by our founders is to impeach each other, the president, dismissal (see santos for a recent example..there was no impeachment trial…which is very interesting and I have some thoughts about this….and also impeachment of “officials” as this term is defined by the constitution. I believe this also means cabinet appointments, confirmations even, and those who serve temporary 180 terms under alternate powers. I believe the only power that is even close to prosecution is contempt, which has to be recommended by the speaker, agreed by the Senate and then forwarded to DOJ.
I know this is a lot of information, and I may have missed some points, but I am trying my best to explain it how I know it.
There is a reason why I specifically wrote that this is just the beginning. A new TRUMP administration is about to have the authority to do these things. A new AG, a New Administration that is obviously very motivated for all the right reasons to take down the corruptors. This report gives them the political support. The only thing missing is the Senate support. We shall see about that. challenge accepted as it were.
I hope this helps explain what I believe will happen.

I wanted to read the full 1,500+ page bill & speak with key leaders before forming an opinion. Having done that, here’s my view: it’s full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO.
Keeping the government open until March 14 will cost ~$380BN by itself, but the true cost of this omnibus CR is far greater due to new spending. Renewing the Farm Bill for an extra year: ~$130BN. Disaster relief: $100BN. Stimulus for farmers: $10BN. The Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement: $8BN. The proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending.
They must pass the bill by December 31, 2024 while the “no ceiling debt ceiling” is in effect.

Speaker Slippery Johnson strikes again!
Having a wife who is impacted big time by the Wind Fall Elimination Provision (WEP) as well as Government Pension Off-Set (GPO) … I was hopeful for this Social Security Bill before the Senate.
Then I read the “other stuff” lumped into the Bill and it became clear why the House democrats and Uni-party Republicans as well as Senate democrats suddenly changed years of 100% indifference into 100% support for this Bill. That $200 billion is technically “loan to the US Government” that will be repaid with worthless Government Bonds and makes the funds even more insolvent … and worse …. there is language in the Bill that essentially converts Social Security and soon Medicare into full blown Welfare Programs with new eligibility criteria (that includes immigrants who do not qualify for the benefit).
Social Security already includes two major Welfare payouts in the form of SSI and Disability, this Bill opens Social Security essentially anybody inside the US Borders.
Now the “eye raising” opposition raised by a few (including RINO’s) is clear and I oppose this Bill as well.
I, too, am impacted by the “windfall” and was hoping for once a clean, simple fix would happen.
As you explain the complexities of the add ons, once again our law makers have turned a simple bill into a convoluted mess.
The “windfall” also negatively impacts some who worked overseas for private companies.
This must be some other government. Surely not OURS!?
