Monday is the 251st anniversary of The Boston Tea Party. Each man kept his own secret that night and no one spoke of those events for 50 years. Due to this vow of secrecy, we have just one firsthand account from one man, George R. T. Hewes. Here is his story in his own words:
A major contributor to the onset of the revolution was “the mob”. They carried out operations, including ransacking the homes of various British and Tory officials, including that of the King appointed governor, who was forced to take refuge on a British warship in the harbor. Though they were called the mob, they were disciplined and had a chain of command which they obeyed.
The activities of the mob were the major reason the British were forced to increase the military presence in Boston and to keep warships in the harbor at all times.

The scientists called for a ban on research that could lead to synthesis of such an organism
“The consequences could be globally disastrous,” said Jack W. Szostak, a Nobel-prize-winning chemist at the University of Chicago who helped write a 299-page technical report on the risks of the research.
In an accompanying commentary in the journal Science, Dr. Szostak and his colleagues warned that an organism created with the new technology could cause “extraordinarily damaging consequences for the environment, agriculture, and human well-being.””
